Attractive, ergonomic, nice features
I have tried several manual wine bottle openers; simple designs like a metal corkscrew on a wooden handle through sophisticated mechanisms such as the "Rabbit". The Rabbit, in my opinion, has too much plastic in it for serious wine drinkers. I open one bottle almost every night, and my Rabbit lasted less than a year before the plastic around one of the pivot points cracked and broke off. My simple corkscrew is still intact, but with recalcitrant corks it is a bad choice because you have no leverage. This is the first powered wine bottle opener I have purchased. I have been using it for almost two months, so it's fair to say I have opened about 50 bottles so far. The foil cutter is great; it stores conveniently in a slot on the back of the base charger unit. The pouring spout is very nice; I thought initially it was a bit of a gimmick, but I now use it all the time since it is almost drip-less and the stopper fits inside it to close up an unfinished bottle. Operation is simple, although there are some potential improvements here. But on the whole I am very happy with the unit. Here's a snapshot of using this opener: 1) Remove the foil using the foil cutter. Only moderate pressure is needed in my experience since it is sharp! 2) Place the opener over the neck of the wine bottle. Hold the bottle to prevent it from rotating. Push the opener down with moderate pressure (the corkscrew will not drill down into the cork otherwise) and depress the lower (extract) button. 3) When the corkscrew has started pulling out the cork, switch to applying very light upward pressure on the opener. This is so that you can tell when the cork is out, and take you thumb off the "extract" button. The unit does not auto-reverse. You only need to apply very light upward pressure, since the unit will do all the work of pulling out the cork, you just need to be able to tell when it is done (it's obvious, don't worry). You will know when the corkscrew has begun to pull out the cork, because the hand holding the wine bottle will feel the difference in torque (rotational force) the opener is applying to the bottle. Once the cork breaks its seal to the glass bottle and starts drawing out, the torque drops off dramatically. One bottle and you will see what I mean. 4) Once the cork is out of the bottle. Stop pressing the lower "extract" button, and press the upper "release" button. The cork will fall out of the bottom of the opener in a few seconds, and you are done. Here's what prevented me from giving this opener a five star rating: 1) The user has to take some special steps to get the corkscrew started. The body of the unit does not apply any significant pressure to the wine bottle itself, so to start it you have to hold the bottle firmly and press down firmly on the opener (in order to apply pressure to the corkscrew). If you do not hold the bottle firmly, it will rotate with the corkscrew, and if you do not press down firmly, the corkscrew will not begin drilling down into the cork. 2) It does not auto-reverse (to release the cork) when the cork is out of the bottle.

A simple easy to use wine opener
The media could not be loaded. So I go through my share of corkscrews, and therefore my share of wine bottles. This is such a great time saver and easy if you have weak/arthritic hands or wrists. It charges relatively quickly and comes with a poured and stopped as well as a foil cutter. The cutter has a spot to sit in the back so it doesn't get lost and it's at the ready when you need to open a bottle! I got the nice matte black and it looks super sharp in my kitchen next to my matching knife block. The poured leaves a lot to be desired. The rubber part isn't really attached to the metal so when I went to take it out of the first bottle the rubber stayed in the neck. It's not bad in a pinch if needed. And won't work in anything even slightly bigger than a normal neck sized bottle. It's super simply to push down and hold the down arrow. It basically "sucks up" the cork into itself completely pulling it out of the bottle with absolutely no effort. I've heard it pop half the time I've used it, and the other half I didn't even know it had opened. Then you just hit the up arrow and the cork will wind itself out for you to dispose of. No mess. No fuss. Super quick and easy. This would make a great gift for any wine lover of yourself honestly.

Works great - excellent customer service
The bottle opener works perfectly. Place it straight up and down over the bottle push the remove button until the cork is out then push the button the other way and the cork comes right out. I have have used lots of different openers and this is clearly the best and easiest I have used. Works equally well on both natural and synthetic corks. The product also looks good sitting on the counter in the charging stand. However, my wife tried it and didn't hold onto the bottle and when the bottle started to spin around she gave it to me. So hold onto the bottle and you won't have a problem. Problem right out of the box; when I first received it and set it up the red LED that shows it is charging was not lighting up. I put a meter on the contacts and there was power to the wine opener for charging, but the LED wasn't working. I sent an email to Ozeri's support and they got back to me within 24 hours. Once they had my order number they sent me an entire replacement which arrived the following day. I took out just the charging base and swapped it with the one I had and the LED worked perfectly. I packaged it back up with the prepaid label and returned it to Ozeri. From initial email till resolved less then 48 hours, no issue, no hassle. I would do business with this company anytime. I had also bought an Ozeri kitchen scale at the same time and it is also working perfectly and looks great.

Long Battery Life
This is my second Ozeri wine opener. I highly recommend it. The battery rarely needs charging. The foil cutter is a nice accessory. My first one was a gift, and I didn’t even shop around to buy a different one. That’s how pleased I was with the Ozeri. By the way, I dropped the first one resulting in needing a new one. It was still working GREAT.

An Attractive, Simple to Use Bottle Opener That Works Each and Every Time On All Wine Bottle Corks. Would Make a Lovely Gift.
After struggling with one too many stubborn vintage corks I decided to purchase this wine bottle opener. This was a wise choice. I say this because this is a magnificent wine bottle opener, since it's easy to use and I've yet to encounter a single cork, in nearly a year, which gives this opener any hassle. All one does to operate is simply press the down button and wait for the opener to do it's magic. Once the cork is extracted (and you will definitely feel when it is) you can take the opener away from the bottle and press the up button in order for the opener to let the cork out. That's it! Lovely and simple, just the way it ought to be. The rechargeable battery and the charger work flawlessly in tandem and I have yet to run into a situation where I couldn't use my opener due to a a drained battery. I adore the sleek look of the this entire unit and the way it looks on my kitchen counter. I think it will complement any kitchen. The included wrapper cutter and bottle stopper are both excellent and cherries on top of the cake. I could imagine this would be an appreciated gift for wine lovers. Full marks from me on this excellent product.

Great product and great customer service
I have purchased this item as a present. It came a bit rubbed off and looked like it was second hand item. I have contacted the seller and they apologized for the faulty item and agreed to replace it. However, the person I have bought this was not living in UK and took the item with him home to Switzerland. I have explained this to the seller and they agreed to send the new item directly to my friend in Switzerland without any further charges. This was the best customer service I have received and was very pleasantly surprised by this gesture. I would definitely recommend both the item and the seller. Opener is so easy to use and looks very elegant a great decoration for any kitchen.

Works well
I bough this because unfortunately, due to illness around four years ago, I now have only one working arm. Using a regular corkscrew was something to be attempted only in desperation. I saw a couple of reviews along the lines of "I bought this for ... who had problems with a corkscrew and it's been a big help" so bought one. I'm very pleased with it; I reckon I've only used it half a dozen or so times but with no problem at all. Yes, you have to keep it straight (the same as you do a regular corkscrew, nothing unusual there) and keep it steady while the cork's being removed - I hold the bottle between my thighs (no sniggering) - but it's easy and does exactly what I need.
