Good enough for the price

I'm sure the Herman Miller ones are better, but for $50, these are just fine. After getting one, I bought a second for another room, and a third as a gift. All the ones I ordered are the multi-color. The knock-off walnut ones just looked wrong. They are definitely packaged haphazardly, so no idea what's going on there; but they were fine enough that I didn't feel the need to return any of them (but definitely order ones with free returns). I'm picky, and found these acceptable. Your mileage may vary, but at 1/5 the price I can forgive the less vibrant colors, and slight paint imperfections. Also, FWIW, the Eames have been dead for a long time, and the Herman Miller price is crazy. Shame on them for not making one of the more accessible Eames pieces actually accessible to most people. So no, I don't feel bad about buying the knock-off.

great knock off (but support good design if you are able)

If you can, support designers. Unfortunately I can yet afford the real thing and my coats needed somewhere to go. The colors are a bit off from the original, but the final result is still the same. It did have some scuffs on the frame and uneven finish on the gum balls - but really nice for the price. If you do want a custom color - i can see this being a great project to paint. If you have never seen a hang-it-all in person - it is a chunky girl with the gumballs being the size of... pool balls? Not a place for keys and it tends to looks better less filled. Very happy to have her in my home.

Glad I bought this. Highly recommended.

This is such a fun rack. Totally functional, but with cool pops of color, and rods are going in funky directions. It doesn't come with any hardware (screws) but it only needs 4 screws, and then it's good-to-go. We installed ours on wall studs. In some of the product description photos, one of the balls in the top row is cropped out--There are actually 4 hooks along the top. The bottom row of hooks is, deliberately and uniformly, angled slightly to the right--you can see it in some of the product photos, but it might not be noticeable unless you are looking for it. The shape of our rack is just like the photos. The color balls we got are: The balls (welded on, I think) do not fall off easily, and cannot be unscrewed or moved. Top row: Black, Golden Yellow, Red, Pink Top middle row: Pink, Dark Green, Dark Blue, Yellow Bottom middle row: Red, Purplish Bottom row: Purplish, Dark Blue, Yellow, Very Dark Purple It has a very sturdy overall construction. We have been using this for adults' heavy winter coats, and it is doing just fine. The only downside is the balls get covered up by the coats! I cannot tell if this is an imitation of theMLF® Eames Hang it all, Wall Mounted Coat Rack with Painted Solid Wooden Balls in Eight Colors , a copy, a cheaper version, or what. But there is one by LexMod/Modway & one by Eames. The primary difference I noticed when looking at the racks online was the significant price difference, so I went with this one. Fun side note: It's not why I bought it, but on the Disney ShowLiv and Maddie Volume 1 this rack, or a similar one, is on the wall in Liv & Maddie's bedroom.

Bright and fun coat rack

In my picture, the coat rack on the right is the official, $200+ designer version I received as a gift. It fits my aesthetic of happy and bright colors and holds a lot, but I didn't want to fork out a couple hundred bucks for a second one. The coat rack on the left in my picture is the one from this listing. The differences are very slight and the quality of the metal structure is the same. The colors are slightly different, and the finish on the knobs is shinier - that's about the only noticeable difference between the two. These are a little finicky to install, as it's difficult to have one person hold the rack (it's not heavy, but it is cumbersome) and someone else trying to maneuver a power drill around the knobs. We had to finish by hand tightening the screws to make sure they were in firmly enough. We hosted a group of friends last winter when we only had the rack on the right, and it held 12 coats just fine. So these look nice and hold up really well to a lot of weight! They also look fun by themselves too, which I appreciate. The rest of the room these are in has a lot of bright and colorful artwork on the walls. These coat racks go well with all that color, and I get a lot of compliments on them.

Great for limited space

My daughters and I just moved into an apartment which doesn't have a coat closet but we have plenty of coats. I wanted something which wasn't going to take up floor space but handle our coats efficiently and I found it in this coat rack. It's sturdy, we have our winter coats hanging on there as well as some lighter coats, doesn't take up ANY floor space since it's on the wall behind the door. This coat rack was an absolute life saver for us and freed up space in our bedroom closets. I thought it would have been more difficult to install but I completed it in less than 15 minutes. Great purchase.

Correct sizing and good gauge steel. Sturdy and stable. If you aren't going to get the real thing, this is a great option.

Colour not as advertised

Product is well made, but as one other person has said the colour of the balls is not at all what is advertised in the photo. They look like caramel-coated apples and not walnut. But it's a knockoff of a beautiful piece of design, so I can't expect that much. It is still nice, and I will not return it.
