Wow is all I have to say!
I purchased this for growing plants and testing the watering solutions PH levels, and use it everywhere else now! I use it for checking my fish tank PH/Levels, our home water supply when kids complain of weird tasting water. This thing is super easy to use, Idiot proof! Has replace probes, and is truly a higher quality piece of equipment than what's out there. If not top quality!

Wow
I just got it but it's already amazing me with its speed. It took me about two minutes out of the box to have the thing calibrated. Takes less than 10 seconds to give you a reading that stays. Pull it out of the water, clean it off, dip it right back in, and it goes right back to the reading. The Screen light is good. I mention that because so many of these pens are hard to read no matter what the light is.

Great 5 in 1 Water Tester!
This 5 in 1 water testing pen is very easy to use. The pen has a great backlight and is easy to read. The price is very high but well worth it if you want to test your water. I recommend this water tester pen.

This should work great in my garden. It's already pointed out some problems I've been fighting.

Great kit
We got this kit to help my father-in-law out with his saltwater fish tanks and it works great. I love that it comes with the solutions to calibrate the system as well. The case that it comes in is well made and fits everything snugly. The instructions are super easy to follow and very clear. It really isn't much more to say other than it works great and I haven't had any issues using it. I do think that the price is a bit high for what you get but I guess you can't complain too much when it does this job this well. I know there are other uses for this as well but this is what our use case was. I do believe there are other tips that you can get to add to this system as well which is kind of nice. I do also love how easy the screen is to read. It is so much nicer than the other one he had.

This review is for the GS2 Soil Test Kit. It is rather complex to calibrate and use, but accurate.
This is a serious scientific instrument and a bit more work than the everyday gardener might want to put in for measuring the pH of their soil . The tester comes with batteries installed, but blocked with an insulating strip. With that pulled out, the tester comes on. The fist step is to calibrate the tester. There are two test solutions, one for neutral or 7,0 pH solution and one for 4.0 or acidic solution. After cleaning the test device and shaking off excess water, the tip of the tester is inserted into the bottle of green solution, marked 7.0. When that test result is at or very near 7.0, proceed to the 4.0 pH solution. Again, rinse the tip of the test device, shake off excess water and insert the tip into the pink (4.0 ) solution). If that test is also at or near the target, or 4.0 the device is properly calibrated. Actual testing of water, soil, or a slurry of soil and water can then be done. Instructions are very clear -- but don't lose the instruction book. The device retains test results for 30 days and then clears them. If calibration fails, the booklet has clear instructions on how to proceed. Additional test solution can be purchased, as can the tip of the testing device, itself. This is a fairly complex tool, but will yield very accurate results.

to monitor the pH levels of soil or nutrient solutions
First of all, I’ve requested several other products from this brand, Apera, and my grandpa has been quite satisfied with all of them. My grandparents take care of lots of family sites, one of them is the family farm which became so much more than that in terms of size. And now there is the head of a small team who helps my grandfather to manage the family botanical garden as well as farm. He loves the scientific approach, and the Apera is one of his favorite brands (and now I am his favorite one from my family as I bring this type of devices for him lol) So this PH pen tester is designed to be used directly in soil or nutrient solutions, which makes it really convenient for testing in the field or in a greenhouse in the garden. The pH probe is replaceable, which is obviously important for long-term use as pH probes can become less accurate over time according to my grandpa. I also learned that the Swiss Spear design is also known for its accuracy and reliability. After testing this one out over last week, my grandpa told me that this has a good level for his most gardening or farming needs. While I didn’t know, my grandpa explained because this tester automatically compensates for changes in temperature, which can affect the accuracy of pH readings. Lastly, the backlit display makes it easy to read pH values in low light conditions (which is obviously a more important feature to the senior people like my grandpa) , and the hold function allows you to freeze the pH reading for later analysis as well :) In the end, I am happy that my grandpa and his team were glad to have this reliable and accurate tool for monitoring the pH levels of soil or nutrient solutions.
