Inconsistent Quality, and ZERO support from APEC
EDIT- I was finally contacted by APEC, and not only did they help troubleshoot my issue, but they sent me a few replacement filters, free of charge. This is bittersweet… Yay for problem solved, but what a headache to get in touch with someone who knows what they are talking about at APEC. I have changed my rating from ONE star to FOUR, and if the solution APEC proposed works, I will amend my review accordingly. ************************************************ Original Review- I’m on city water, (10+ years) and traditionally filters are changed with consistency according to manufacturer’s specifications. In the past, NEVER have I had a filter plug up prior to the recommended change interval. I switched to APEC when my last filter bit the dust, and changed at the recommended one year mark. The replacement filters lasted 2.5 months before they completely plugged. When I pulled the replacement filters, they actually looked BETTER than the original filters- minimal sediment accumulation/rust visible. I contacted APEC, in part to troubleshoot, in part because changing the filters every 2-3 months was not acceptable, esp given the history of my water, knowing that the original APEC filters made it an entire year. Now COULD something have happened, something that hadn’t happened in the past 10+ years, where the City water all of a sudden flushed a bunch of invisible contaminants into my RO system? YES! Not likely, but YES. This is why I just wanted to discuss with APEC, and get to the bottom of the issue. To date, I have not been able to connect with an APEC representative that can give me a straight answer about ANY of the products that they sell. I suspected I had a faulty 4th stage, reverse osmosis membrane, but to be honest, I really don’t understand all things Reverse Osmosis. The waste water that’s created as part of the RO membrane can be puzzling. For instance- APEC sells a ROES100 Reverse Osmosis system that is the ONLY system they sell that has an advertised “1:1 drain ratio that reduces waste water up to 300%”. If that is the case, I would assume that on the ROES100, the first three stages would last up to 3x longer, as they need to filter up to 3x less than the ROES50, which has a 3:1 drain ratio? APEC replied that the ROES50 and ROES100 water usage was the same, but the ROES100 merely wastes less. I’m sorry, but this answer makes no sense. Until I can get a straight answer from APEC, I will assume that the product I received was as awesome as the customer service I received.

I don't know how we ever tolerated tap water before the APEC water system
This system is brilliant. Neither my husband nor I can tolerate the taste of plain tap water now that we've had the APEC water system for a little over three years. We have had zero issues with leaking, breaking, clogs, or flow. It's a little tricky to unscrew the tightly screwed filter caps but hubby can manage it with a rubber grip. We also clean the outside with disinfectant every time we change the filters. We replace the entire filtration system yearly with the replacement filter set. The canister is large and the filters take up almost 1/3 of the space under our sink, but it's completely worth the loss of space. This system makes even Britta water taste like trash compared to our APEC water. Sadly in our town, we keep getting sent letters that say our town water has failed to meet minimum purity specifications, but we have not gotten sick nor noticed any of the discoloration that our neighbors have with their water. I buy the refill pack yearly +1 spare because I don't ever want to go back to the way things were before this system.

Apec makes the best RO systems
These filters are easy to install. I really like Apec products. The filters are made in the USA, are high quality, and are reasonably priced. We have been using the filter for about 3 years and change out the filters every 9 months. So far so good.

Easy to Install
These replacement filters for my 5-stage R/O system work really well. It only took my neighbor about 1/2 hour to install & it was up & running again in no time. This system is very quiet & I've never had a problem in the 3 years I've had it. (Having said that, hope I haven't jinxed myself!)

Stage Five was a Bugger
I have a five-stage unit. Stages one through four installed easily, but stage five, which is on top of the RO unit, had an entirely different configuration than the original. After a lot of online searching, I discovered that stage five had been redisigned in 2012. I received my unit in 2011. I finally had to get a pair of adapters/reducers to make stage five work. All is good now, but APEC should have included a note that explained their redesign in 2012 and what to do if you have an older unit.

Excellent quality and lifespan!
These replacement cartridges are easy to install, instructions are clear. I was slightly confused at one step but this company has installation videos on YouTube so I watched a short clip and was back on track. The water tastes fantastic, as usual.

Great system!!
We moved into a new house that has city water. We ordered this system shortly after and I installed it under the kitchen sink. Installation was very easy. After 8 months of use it was apparent that the filters were getting clogged by the low water flow and then not at all. I replaced the three main filters and will replace the other two when needed. I am expecting the filters to last longer this time due to the fact that I installed a new water softener.
