Doesn't work very well with Bakflip X4S
I like this extender quite a bit but it doesn't really work with the Bakflip X4S hard rolling toneau cover. The patches for the cover extend far enough out that you can't rotate the bed extender in and out. I will just stop it in the garage when not in use but I was hoping to be able to rotate it in and out freely.

Take your time assembling!
Not bad. Be careful putting the attachment bolts in the brackets and attaching them to the truck. Make sure you don't cross-thread them. I got the first 3 in, no problem. The forth went about halfway in and then the bolt snapped in half. Tried to get it out with screw extractor but ended up drilling through the edge of the insert on my truck. I'm not even sure it was cross threaded, they all went in very tight due to the pre-installed thread locker on the bolts. So I had to go to the home store and get a bolt and nut to put through that hole. Also, the securing strap connectors you're supposed to secure to the truck latch points are too big so there's no way to keep the extender held down when hauling cargo. I guess I'll find out.

A great add to my 2020 Ford Ranger!
Very simple to setup and put together. Notice several buyers were dissatisfied in the reviews, but I didn't have any issues whatsoever, five stars. My only four star is I purchased my own stronger M-6 bolts from Ace Hardware after noticing several reviewers were not happy with the provided bolts that seemed to break in half, half-way through tightening them leaving the rest of the bolt literally encased in the truck. That would've ticked me off too, but thanks to the reviewers' "heads-up" I decided not to use the provided bolts, they did look a bit el-cheapo. So thank you reviewers for that. These bolts from Ace Hardware worked like a champ. Nice to place my 5-gallon water bottles in the back of my truck bed extender area now instead of inside my cab where one bottle had busted falling off the seat and on the floor spilling water everywhere. Very nice product, thanks AMP Research.

Factory bedliner and bed cover
Bought this and was worried how it would work with factory bedliner and after market bed cover. The only issue us the bed cover release mechanism is a little hard to get to because it is blocked by the side of the bed extender. You can see it in the pictures I have attached. Had to drill two holes in bedliner on each side so the bolts could pass but they are covered by the two washers so there is room for error. Make sure u tape off the center tubes 7 inches from each end so it makes line up easier. Other than that no issues. Not sure how everyone was complaining about there bolts breaking because the threaded holes were fine. I can only guess that they went in at an angle or the threads were bad for some reason. Was also worried that the full size bed extender might not flip over due to wheel well on bedliner but that was no issue either.

Good quality and easy to install, even with spray-on bed liner.
This product has a bit of heft and is well-designed. It installed in 20 minutes on my 2019 Ranger with spray-on bed liner. I did use a M6x1 tap to clean out the 4 mounting points that were a bit clogged with bed liner. This is adjustable width and would easily fit a smaller or much larger width bed. It works just fine with my BAKFlip MX4 Tonneau Cover.

## READ THIS IF YOUR TRUCK HAS A SPRAY BED LINER!!!!!! #### A few other reviews mentioned this problem but unfortunately I didn't see it before attempting my installation. If your truck has a spray bed liner you will need to clean out the threads with a tap before attempting to install this. Otherwise you'll need so much force to get the bolts in that they will snap. I saw some folks blaming this on cheap materials from the product. Not the case - the bolts they provide are perfectly fine as long as the threading on your truck is clean. I will say that the manufacturer could probably put a specific warning about it in their packaging - maybe they did but I didn't see it.

Nice Product
This is a good product, but a few things are important about the installation. The first is, as another reviewer pointed out, if you have a factory sprayed in bed liner, do not attempt to install with out first tapping out the factory screw holes. I took that reviewer's advice and used a 6m tap. Second, the instructions say to measure 7 inches, mark with tape, all a waste of time. Every truck is different. It is better to place the extender on the tailgate and adjust it in place. Then place the two sided brackets in place and screw in place. Lastly, you have to overlap the brackets where the bars slide in. Instructions state this. read carefully. Its important.

Does not work with BAK Revolver tonneau cover
Videos I have seen for this product said it works with tonneau covers. Installed it on my truck and then installed the tonneau cover. With the rails in place for the cover, this extender cannot be rotated. Can't even be rotated enough to remove it. The problem is with the slam latch catches. They stick too far out to the side. I was really hoping to be able to use these together for groceries and other cargo management. I simply have to choose one or the other unfortunately. I choose the tonneau cover. I need the security more than anything. I can rig up something else to keep everything from sliding around. This is going back to Amazon. UPDATE: I was able to modify this to work with my tonneau cover. I put 1" spacers behind each of the brackets and then made the whole thing narrower so it would clear the slam latch catches on my tonneau cover rails. I had to buy longer bolts to do this as well as the spacers and had to trim 1" from each end of the three center rails because they were too long to adjust enough as they were. Anyway, it works now. I changed my rating from 2 stars to 3 now that it works. I would change it to 4 stars if the proper spacers and hardware were available from the manufacturer instead of having to fabricate something myself.
