AmorePacific is a Korean skincare conglomerate, founded in 1945. They operate with over 30 beauty and personal care brands under their umbrella, such as Sulwhasoo, Laneige, Mamonde, Etude House, and Innisfree. Most skincare with the AmorePacific specific brand is marketed on the luxury-end of Korean skincare and is priced as such. I've been lucky to try a few of the AP-specific products, considering their price-point, as well as many items sold by Laneige, Mamonde, Etude House, Innisfree, IOPE. If you ever have the chance to play around with Korean skincare, especially Korean-made sunscreen, I highly recommend it. Many of their products have made a world of difference in the health and appearance of my complexion. As with any product line, sometimes you will have hits and others a miss, depending on the formulation, performance, personal preferences, etc. The AmorePacific Treatment Cleansing Oil Makeup Removed Facial Cleanser is going to get a 7 out of 10, for me (or in the case of Amazon, 4 out of 5 stars). To start, they were extremely clever in how they packaged and shipped their oil cleanser pump. Most of the time, I will receive a similar product with oil everywhere because they fail to design the packaging to ship well. In this case, AP has a sturdy screw-on lid with a safety seal. You get a generous 6.7 fl oz firm plastic bottle, with a lid, and the pump included in the box separately. The ingredients are where I and AP have issues sometimes. They love to add fragrance thinking it'll improve the user experience. Whereas I think added fragrance is unnecessary. Many of the products I've tried from AP specifically have been heavily fragranced. For someone who is both scent-sensitive (I get headaches from people who wear too much perfume) and who has sensitive skin, the addition of synthetic fragrances and essential oils can be troublesome. This one is mid-level intense floral. Considering it is an oil wash I will then remove during my double-cleanse with a fragrance-free water-based cleanser, I'm going to overlook the synthetic floral smell. It is not unpleasant or as strong as I anticipated. Be aware, there is coconut oil, soybean oil, papaya extract, lemon extract, and orange extract - in case you are sensitive to any of these. I'm not sure how I feel putting so many citrus oils near my sensitive eye area. The insert promotes the soothing presence of green tea. Sure, it has green tea in it, but it is at the near bottom of the list (Camellia Sinensis leaf extract), whereas fragrance is highlighted almost at the top. I wish those were the other way around. Performance. This does as promised. I've included images. In them, I've swiped a few lines of various eyeliners, a glittery lip gloss, and a dusting of brown eyeshadow. I dispensed a pump's-worth of the oil cleanser on it (hard to control the amount you get). I ended up with more than I needed for the back of my hand, but for my face, one pump would be the right amount. I let it sit for a moment or two and gently massaged the oil into the back of my hand. The muddy result shows you just how effective it was breaking it up with little effort. I then rinsed off my hand. The only thing to survive was a hint of glitter from the lip gloss. Honestly, I was very impressed with how much makeup it removed. My hand was also not tight or dry after. But again, this was a test with just the oil wash and not my full skincare routine where I would have followed up with another wash and a toner. The price point. For what you get, you really are paying more for the prestige of the brand name. Still, this product did do as promised. But I could pay half as much and get an equally good oil cleanser.
