Going strong at 10 years
My house has a couple large trees nearby so I put these exact shields on my house over 10 years ago. I focused on the tree exposed areas and didn’t cover all the gutters. I live in the Midwest and I just clipped them to the gutters at that time. Overall, they worked great so when I was looking to replace them and fully cover all my gutters, I looked at a variety of options but couldn’t really justify spending 4-5x more on metal gutter shields. The two layered approach on these - fine mesh over a plastic screen - works well. The main issue has been that a few sections will slip off the outer gutter edge (they kind of clip on) and have to be re-seated from time to time. Since some of my gutters are 20+ feet high, I wanted a solution that would stay in place. Based on the last 10 years, I’d offer a couple observations for a project like this. 1. These work best for leaves and larger debris. Smaller debris can get stuck in the holes and gaps, but will wash off eventually. 2. A heavy rain will overwhelm gutter shields and spill some water over the gutter edge - especially at corners where two roof lines come together. Screen or mesh covers will overflow. 3. The world is dirty. Literally. Your gutters will accumulate dust and dirt over time and accrete a 1” mud layer irregardless of what cap you use. This is not trivial and will eventually need to be cleaned out. 4. Ice is a problem. A heavy snow will melt and re-freeze and give you some impressive icicles hanging from your gutter. This is worse with gutter guards than without - the ice rides over the gutter shield and forms icicles. Ice is heavy and there is some risk of gutter damage (sagging) from the weight or roof damage if a 3-4’ icicle breaks and falls on a lower roof. Keep an eye out for this and use a pole to break the big icicles if you can. As I re-did my gutters after 10 years I was impressed with how many sections of these gutter shields were still good to go. Dirty, but fully intact. I probably re used 10-20 sections because they were fine. This time I did screw these on with self-tapping gutter screws. It made it a longer project but I think I will get more than 10 years out of these as they will stay in place. I also trimmed the last inch of each section a bit to provide overlap between sections. That seemed to work well also and prevents gaps. I found that tin snips worked well to trim these for corner sections and overlap. These have been in place now for 4 months and other than some water running off the gutter shields during a torrential downpour, they have been great. They survived the fall leaf deluge just fine. If you can safely access your gutters and put these on, I think they are a great option that will give you at least 15-20 years of coverage if screwed in place. You will save thousands of dollars doing it yourself.

Glue has changed...for the worse in 2022
I have mixed feelings in writing this review because I love these guards. The gluing of the screen has changed since my last purchase 2 years ago. The strip of glue holding both sides of the screen has shrunk and now has big blobs at each section. In installing this batch the screen was pulling off in the corner I was sliding under the shingles. In my pics you can see the difference between my latest purchase, 2 yrs ago, and the original ones I put on about 20 yrs ago. If they could just put a thick strip on both sides like they used to the screen may have a better chance of lasting longer. Time will tell with these. I have a very wooded lot with, it seems, every known tree in the south. I have never had a problem with pine needles or helicopter seeds. If one gets caught, they'll break off in a few days. As you can see over time the screen degrades and they become wavy. They still work and I've never had a problem with my drains clogging. None of this can be seen from the ground on my house. What did get them was 2 bad hailstorms I got a month apart that took most of the gravel off my shingles and bowed in these guards. I mean enough gravel to weight down the gutters and pull some away from the house. Combined with the southern heat, most were permanently bowed. But I could still use some of the old ones. This year I got the roof replaced and the installers put the guards in all wrong, mostly upside down, which caused the screen to pull off and the water to run over the guards. So here I am correcting them and replacing a few. They are a breeze to snap in and easy to cut except the edge where I score it with scissors and bend it off. Once they snap in they don't move but will pull off into the gutter with a lot of gravel weight. It takes a lot. That gravel does not want to move out of the gutter and then collects dirt and things start growing. You have to clean your gutters every 5 to 10 years or so and I would hate to have to unscrew those permanent guards to clean. These take seconds to pop on and off. One area I learned that these guards always fail is the inside corners. I've tried every configuration. Here I use the metal ones. I cut 3/4 the way, fold it back over itself to a 90 degree angle and pound it flat with mallet. Works perfectly.

Hopefully no more gutter cleanouts weekly in the fall.
These gutter guards are working well so far. I like the added mesh which will help with the pine needles from the trees near my home. I have one criticism though. The mesh could be a lot better fixed to the vinyl. The mesh is only spot glued on the plastic. This creates two problems. First when pushing it up under the shingles, it gets snagged very easy and because of the paucity of glued area, spot glued every several inches, it can be easily pulled away from the vinyl. Second, I am sure like me, there will be a need to cut pieces because of shorter lengths to finish a gutter. When cut for fit the glue is probably not going to be at the cut line. I had to glue the mesh to the vinyl where I had to make cuts. I will be curious to see just how well the mesh holds up against icy and snowy weather not to mention how damaging sunlight can be. Overall I am glad I purchased and installed this product. I hope it holds up. Getting too old to be climbing on roof.

Easy install very inexpensive
These gutter guards were inexpensive and easy to install. Having just installed these I can’t speak regarding their durability. The almost identical guards that I replaced lasted over 10 years. Most of them had loose screens due to the glue used to fasten them to the guards. The weak point on these is the nylon screen that is hot glued to the bottom side of the guards. I have fixed a small piece of guard with my hot glue gun and the glue sticks I have are far superior to the glue applied by the manufacturer. I’m probably going to go back and hot glue all the gutter guards because it will not last if not fixed. You must be careful not to break the glue points on the screened bottom while installing. I will also point out that these are “not” maintenance free. I only purchased these to get me through a couple of years so I can save up for a truly maintenance free gutter guard system.
