Not sure….
If this is necessarily a review for the optical cable It was plugged in and worked just fine. I couldn’t test it much. It was my fault, because the inputs/outputs were not long enough. Again my fault for not looking at the manual or position of where they belong. With that said, So far, it looked sturdy and stuff. Sooo, that is the reason I returned it, that I didn’t measure properly The five stars are a combination of the thing that initially it worked fine. AND, the other five stars are for Amazon Amazon is incredible, I am not paid to say this. I have ordered a large amount of things from Amazon. I read the naysayers and don’t understand. I know there are always those that complain. And some, that always, are NEVER happy, no matter what u do. But, I have a small business and personal business and I may have had issues with the product, but, never Amazon Pls keep in mind everyone, that a lot of things u order are from third party businesses. Which has nothing to do with Amazon. So don’t bash Amazon for that. Amazon goes out of their way to resolve every issue Feel free to respond to me!!

These are the best I've ever used.
I was surprised to see that Amazon makes cables. They made these cables. They're surprizingly well made. They don't look like any other Toslink cables. Usually Toslink (named after Toshiba) cables look a lot like weed wacker line. Except black. These are thicker & soft & squishier. Toslink (sometimes called "Lightpipe") cables are meant to shoot a lazer beam inside as a carrier wave, that carries audio, video or both. That said, they have some type of "glass" inside to keep reflecting the light beam along without impeding the signal. These usually have fiberglass inside. Fiberglass can break. More easily than you think. You can't smack them around or step on them or bend them sharply. The Amazon cables are much thicker & softer than the old style. They're much nicer to work with too. Easier to hold on to. Easier to keep track of in a pile of wires (as can be the case in a recording studio). These are much tougher than the others too. They're just not as delicate. The ends on them are also very nice. Easy to grab a hold of & to plug & unplug. That in itself makes them worth it. Trying reach up or down into & through a rats nest of cables & plug a cable into a small socket you can barily see (or not see at all) WILL crush a recording session, band practice or gig, faster than you can say, "Uncle Eddie's extra ornry jammies". These are a breeze to unplug or plug in. Far easier for my big, giant, guitar stranglin, key jing janglin meat hooks to deal with.

Sounds quality improved
I recently purchased the Amazon Basics Digital Optical Audio Toslink Cable for my soundbar and TV setup and I have to say, I'm very impressed with the quality of this cable. Firstly, the 3.3 feet length is perfect for my setup and provides just the right amount of flexibility without leaving any unnecessary slack. The connectors fit securely into both my TV and soundbar, and the cable itself is well constructed and durable. But most importantly, the audio quality is superb. I was previously using a cheaper optical cable and noticed a significant improvement in sound clarity and overall quality after upgrading to this Amazon Basics cable. It's amazing how much of a difference a high-quality cable can make! Overall, I'm very satisfied with my purchase of the Amazon Basics Digital Optical Audio Toslink Cable. It's a great value for the price and has exceeded my expectations in terms of quality and performance. I highly recommend this cable to anyone in need of a reliable and high-quality optical audio cable.

Amazonbasics wins!!
I have become a fan of Amazon Basics products; especially when it comes to anything related to Electronics. I was searching for an optical audio Toslink an for my new amplifier system and all products in amazon were pretty pricey. I needed a longer cable and that made it worse. I found this AmazonBasics one it was perfect at the sub $10 price range. I took it from Amazon warehouse and it became even more cheaper. Trust me, I have never seen an issue with Warehouse items from Amazon. Pros: 1. The cable has a very soft rubber sleeve and this makes the cable super flexible. So your chance of it breaking the optical core because of a bad twist is extremely low. 2. The prongs have nice little bulge at the points where you hold them while connecting. This helps to get a firm grip while inserting the prong into the TOSLINK slots of your devices. Cons: 1. The sleeving rubber is of matte finish and works like a dust magnet. It becomes dust coated very soon and wiping the dust makes it even more uglier. 2. I prefer to keep my cables white which makes wire clutter look little neater. This cable comes only in black!

Works…but
It works but it’s very big around. If I move my sound bar, it falls out. It just doesn’t “click” in there. I guess I should have RETURNED it and got a different one but I’m sick of returning things. Ugh!!! That would mean NO sound til I got another one and I’ll just have to b careful. Ah the problems with online shopping, right? I’ll make it work!

Solid cable
I needed one of these cables to wire up a soundbar to my computer. I didnt want to spend a ton of money and it doesnt make much sense to buy and expensive cable because the cable is conducting light so it either works or it doesnt. This cable is thick and feels fairly solid so I expect it to last.

Great Replacement for HDMI
My soundbar only has one channel which includes the bass box. Toslink optical cable has band width for two channels, I am told. However the Toslink cable handles the sound great. I now have a total of three HDMI slots for different game stations or blu ray. Caveat>I did have to switch for the LG TV to switch on optical device on to control the volume, apparently the Toslink cable can be run at 100% to a receiver/equalizer for sound volume. I didn't notice any difference with HDMI ARC. Very cheap cost!!!

Needed it in a pinch, solved the problem.
For some reason our Vizio TV was not outputting audio via HDMI ARC no matter what I tried. Bout this cable and plugged it into both the tv and sound bar. Has been working great and there is no noticeable sound quality difference.

Suelo ser de los que antes de comprar un producto me gusta leer los comentarios de otros compradores para luego no llevarme chascos y hacerme una idea de lo que compro. Soy comprador de amazon desde hace años y durante este tiempo he podido comprobar que muchos compradores o bien hacen una valoración "falsa" pues son compradores que les han regalado el producto a cambio de valoraciones positivas, por lo que no son nada imparciales y valoran el producto como maravillosos no siendolo o bien compradores que hacen un comentario tan escueto que apenas te da información del producto. Dado que a mi ninguna empresa me regala los productos sino que me gasto mi propio dinero en comprarlos mis valoraciones son tal cual me funciona a mi, por lo que no le debo ni fidelidad ni agradecimiento a nadie. las valoraciones son reales, sin mas tranpas ni carton. Dicho esto paso a describir el producto: Importante lo primero que tienes que tener en cuenta es que las conexiones vienen protegidas con una funda de silicona, hay que quitarla antes de conectarla a los aparatos e introducir hasta escuchar el click, cuando lo haces se enciende el cable. Lo compré porque tengo un home cinema Pionner con unos cuantos añetes y lo queria conectar a un televisor 4K nuevo y era el unica conexión existente entre la tv y el home cinema compatible ya que no tiene HDMI. No tiene misterio ninguno conectas un extremo del cable a la salida optica del TV y el otro extremo a la entra optica del home cinema o barra de sonida que tengas, comprueba que al introducirlo suela el tipico click y se ilumina el calbe y listo. Totalmente recomendable. Viene bien embalado y con las protecciones en las conexiones, y a buen precio. No es necesario que te gastes un pastizal en otros cables mas caros por que al final solo pagas el marketing de las marcas. Con este vas mas que sobrado. Si te ha gustado mi comentario votalo para que mas gente pueda leerlo y asi darle sentido real a las valoraciones de los productos

I had Sony home theatre .. I was using hdmi arc cable initially , after using amazon basics optical cable I didn’t find much of sound difference.. basically if u r using hdmi arc then continue using it. If u don’t hv hdmi arc then u can go for this one

Don't omit to remove protective covers then all will be well
Never used one before. When I tried it, initially disappointed because the sound was intermittent joining TV to Soundbar. By looking on the interweb, I discovered that it might have protective covers. When I looked closely, it did. They are very small and translucent and so difficult to spot if you're not looking for them. Once they were removed it all worked fine

The most important thing you need to know about these cables, especially if you've never used optical cables before is that amazon put tiny little clear plastic sleeves on the very tip of each end. I have poor close up eyesight even with varifocal glasses so didn't know they were there. Amazon really need to put a little slip of paper inside to tell you this. The bad reviews I read are often "won't fit my tv". Its only because one reviewer mentioned them that i realised. It would save amazon a fortune in returns for the trouble of a slip of paper with "take the dust caps off before using"

Does not work with Samsung
My fault for not reading the reviews and seeing what other people are saying about thi cable. It will not clip into place in either my Samsung sound bar or the Samsung TV. The cable goes into the optical slot but just flops about or falls out. The connection is not good enough to give a any signal.
