I'm a large guy (400 lbs) and I was looking for a camping chair that would be able to hold my weight. I realize now, after using this over a 4-day camping trip, that the weight limit isn't the only important thing to look at. This chair feels very sturdy, I didn't feel any flex in the frame when sitting down in it and the fabric seems to be quite thick and of good quality. I'm normally hesitant of sitting in camping chair, as I've broken some in the past due to my weight, but after testing this one a few times I was confident enough to just plop down into it whenever I needed. The back rest also goes up quite high, so I was able to lean back comfortably. The little cup holder on the right leg is also quite convenient, and I was able to use it to hold and grab various size water bottles conveniently while sitting. The backrest initially isn't attached, and you need to put the little bars in yourself, but once they're in I had no issue folding up and unfolding the chair leaving them inserted. The folded size is quite large, it essentially just collapses sideways and doesn't lose any of its height, so make sure you've got a square space to store it (as opposed to a tube-like space for most camping chairs). It's very easy to carry around in its folded form, I used the padded armrests as a shoulder rest and just carried it along with one hand. The two issues, though, are the arm rests and general width of the chair. The arm rests are incredibly low, no more than 6 inches higher than the seat. I've never met anybody in my life with elbows that reach down to their hips, so I can't imagine them being useful unless you're very short or are sitting in a very slouched position. I will admit that they were very useful as a spot to hold on to for the second issue: the chair is rather thin. It's not as bad as some chairs that I've seen, and I was able to (barely) fit inside it, but the entire time I was sitting in it I had the arm rests digging into the sides of my thighs, and also into my hips near the back of the chair. Sitting down wasn't hard, since my weight sort of just let me slip in between them, but getting out required a lot of effort, and several times I simply stood up with the chair essentially attached to my butt, requiring some pushing to get it off of me. For a few minutes, this isn't really an issue, but I spent quite a lot of time in the chair over the weekend, and my thighs and hips have bruises all along the sides where the chair was putting too much pressure. All in all, the chair is constructed very well and seems quite strong. It's easy to fold up and carry around, though does take up a bit of storage space. It can certainly support my 400 lb self and possibly even some more, but it's too thin to be comfortable for someone of my size. I wouldn't recommend it to anybody who weighs more than 300 pounds, or otherwise has very wide hips. If you're less then that though, I'm sure this would be a great chair for you.
