All-Clad outsourced the construction and went cheap on a smaller base disk that results in scorching and burning of most food"
As someone with a kitchen full of well used All-Clad, I love the design and functionality of their new Pressure Cooker but there are some serious issues. With pressure cookers what is critical is that the thick base disk that is attached to the bottom of the pot is the full width of the pot. (This disk is usually made up of steel and aluminum and its function is to maintain even cooking temperatures that are so important in pressure cooking times) A lot of cheap pressure cookers save money here by having for example a 6” base disk on an 8” pot. This results in heat rising up the side of the disk burning and scorching both the pot and food in the corners of the pressure cooker and up the lower side walls. Very uncharacteristically All-Clad has outsourced the construction and gone cheap on a disk that is way too small for the pot and results is scorching and burning of most foods. All-Clad has been a hallmark in even heat distribution with their full height multi layered pots but the design of pressure cookers heat distribution is more dependent on the width of the thick base disk, rather than the multi layered pot wall so the All-Clad Pressure Cooker Version 1, unfortunately falls short on its first try. I did speak to All-Clad and they said they have no plans to correct this issue for now. (Read we still have way to much inventory of a this bad one to sell first) They also stated they are not doing any returns on this model so reluctantly I cannot recommend this product. All-Clad consumers have always been happy to pay for quality so I am surprised that that would accept a design flaw in an attempt to clear inventory or save $30.00 on manufacturing costs. My advice is if you absolutely have to have one avoid the All-Clad. I know I love All-Clad and that is hard to say but do your research and look for one with a base disk that is the full width of the pot. Second option would be to wait another year till this one sells though and All-Clad comes out with a full base disk Version 2 that delivers on All-Clad’s even heat and no scorching reputation

So glad I waited to buy a third pressure cooker.
This All-Clad 8 quart pressure cooker is the cooker I’ve looked for over a few years. Most 8 quart pressure cookers are tall versus squat, more base for searing/browning larger cuts of meats. Like the first reviewer my first cook was rice, however I modified my old standard of browning rice in EVOO and butter then followed cooker suggestions and the rice came out great. There is a short learning curve following the various alarms as what step is next (or maybe my senior years are catching up with me). Cons: Small but; top cover has 5 parts including a nut. The top assembled, weights 4 lbs 9 ¼ ozs. The pot weights 5lbs 1 ¼ ozs, making the overall weight of the empty cooker about 10 lbs. Disk bottom. I'm in the process of replacing my disk bottom stainless steel pots and pans since I had a hot disk bottom fall off and now I have a glass cook top stove, to dangerous to chance breaking. The next thing I tried was beef top round with potatoes, onions and carrots, added after a brief pause in cooking. There is no guide on this particular cut of meat in any cookbook or online cook sight so I had to guess. It came out okay but needs some tweaking. The natural release is amazingly fast, no quick under cold water necessary. Clean up was easy. I hope this answers most questions at least of the ones I had. The uploaded pictures are: One is of all of the parts. There is also a washer I use to dismantle the top (handier than searching for a quarter), user guide and quick start guide & recipe book. One is of the parts partially assembled and turned upside down. One is all parts fully assembled upright position The last is manufactures recommended storage with the top inverted.

Horrible purchase | HAZARDOUS AND UNSAFE !!!
The only reason I’m giving this purchase a 1 star is because 0 is not an option. The cooker broke within 2 weeks of use, I have been attempting to get a replacement now for 3 months and the customer service is the worst I’ve ever experienced. Not only are they unprofessional but they also fail to upkeep what was spoken about with a previous representative. The price is not worth your safety!! Pressure cookers are very delicate and there is absolutely no reason for it to break within 2 weeks of use. As if that wasn’t enough, the company is neglecting the fact that my family feels unsafe with a faulty PRESSURE COOKER being fixed and returned to us. They are refusing to replace the item, clearly unconcerned for their consumer’s safety!!

Received a previously used and not fully cleaned product with parts missing
Haven't received a product that I can try yet. First shipment was in a box that was falling apart, product had been used and not fully cleaned, and parts were missing. Bummer that I need to make a trip to UPS because of lack of quality control.

Wow. Loved by my two kids.
I got this yesterday and had a pot roast to thaw overnight for cooking today. After making some adjustments to a recipe in the book that comes with it, I seared the meat, then tossed all the ingredients in, locked the lid and walked away. Once it beeped ready, my kids came running, cleaned their bowls and couldn’t stop raving over how good this was. And I have to agree, that was one of my best pot roast meals in a long time. I love the sear capability - which is easily one of the best features of this cooker. That it can also serve as a slow cooker, rice cooker, just makes this easily one of the best cooking purchases I’ve made.

Junk
Out of the box I got an ugly one—it had been used and the gasket didn’t work. Even if it did I wouldn’t keep it. It’s an overpriced Tefal/T-Fal one. It’s better to just get that and have a reliable and easy source for gaskets. This isn’t All Clads strong suit and ironically the pot isn’t even fully clad—again because it’s just a Tfal for suckers.

More than perfect for my needs
The product is the best. But trying to reach All Clad either through the Internet (Under Construction) or on the phone is a different matter. Tried to get information from their customer service to purchase a spare silicon gasket is like nailing Jello to a tree. Stayed 58 minutes 01 seconds on the phone before I was cut off. Finally got a call from them after I posted a message on Facebook asking Where Are You? Got a number for a spare parts store. They found the spare gasket in France. Purchased 2.

bought off warehouse deals
I bought this on warehouse deals, thought it would be "used, like new" as description. Missing part for steamer basket, and the pressure does not seem to go up like it should. When I release steam barely any coming out of pot. Too bad it's a nice pot, but I am returning it.
