Happy with purchase
*UPDATED AT BOTTOM* We received the item this weekend, and I think it's just great! My 2 year old son has oral sensory needs, and recently started chewing on his hands and arms to satiate those needs. He wasn't taking to any teething toys offered, or a texture bracelet we made, so we purchased this in the hopes that it would help him. It arrived quickly. When we gave it to him, he immediately started chewing on it (the stretchy part) and hasn't chewed on himself since. He seems to prefer the stretchy part, rather than the hard plastic.. But that will probably vary from user to user. We are VERY happy with this purchase. My only concern is that the plastic connecting the "chain" to the pendant will not hold up. It doesn't seem to be made any more durable than the rest of the stretchy part and will likely not hold up to the bouncing and stretching it is likely to go through with an active two-year old user. I will try to update this review as time passes regarding that aspect of the product. Fresh out of the box, the entire length is 12.25". This is great, as I can hook it to my son's belt loop and not worry about it dragging on the floor and getting dirty. I imagine that after some use it will end up stretching longer, though. It only comes in blue, which is fine for us as my son loves blue, but it would be nice to see other color options become available. Overall, great purchase. Would definitely recommend to my friends. August 14, 2014 - Still very happy with this purchase. The part that I was concerned about breaking has held up just fine, maybe I was wrong! It hasn't stretched too long like I thought it would, either. Still has a good bounce to it and doesn't drag along the floor if I have it hooked onto his pants (he is tall for his age, though). My son still loves to chew on it. Very glad we bought this.

Great for my needs
I work at a Dayhab center where we care for high need adults. Our clients have many physical and mental developmental delays that can create interesting challenges. One of our young ladies has a pretty severe PICA disorder. She is on a constant hunt for different objects the hold, tap, mouth and eventually eat. We've found the best way to keep her from ingesting anything that could possibly harm her, is to keep a couple dozen items safe for her to have in plain sight at all times. I'm always on the lookout for the perfect "toy" that will catch her interest and be safe for her to have. To my disappointment she didn't seem interested in this when it was clipped to her clothing, but she can't pass this thing up when she sees it. She swings it around, taps it on tables (bonus is it not loud) and chews it. When this goes missing, and it will go missing, I will repurchase another for her.

Lifesaver for kindergartener
My son has sensory processing disorder that mostly manifests with needing to chew. With the anxiety of school starting he began to chew his nails and fingers to the point of bleeding. Not just the nails but literally chewing sores in his hands. Pencil toppers are a nice idea but in kindergarten you’re not always at a desk using a pencil. Fidgets are nice but my son lays them down and forgets about them. His teacher bought this for him (I owe her eternally) and clips it on his shirt or jacket zipper every class. It stays in his mailbox when he goes home and she puts it back in him when he comes to class. (Teachers are amazing...she has 25 students and still takes the time to worry about my one child’s needs) His hands no longer bleed and his nails are even able to grow a little. (I really didn’t care so much about the nails but the scars and callouses he was developing was heart breaking). Just wish they weren’t so expensive or I would buy 5.

Great Product❤
These are the BEST sensory chewers! My son is 12 and has chewed through every single thing we've bought until these! They last long and the entire product holds up to his supernatural strength! ❤

save the shirts!
My 7 yr old autistic son goes through oral phases and currently has been chewing holes in his shirt collars daily. I threw out at least a dozen. He won't wear necklaces or bracelets. He took right to this chew, as I attach it to his pant belt loops or tie. He is a vigorous chewer, so after a few days the narrowed tip of the plastic tube was about to rip off so I cut it off with scissors. The spring part also broke from the plastic hook, so I slip knot tied it back and fixed that problem. My son is pretty rough so I expected these very things to happen, and it's not a fault of the product, but more the user. However, I did want to include the ways to fix these issues in this review if they do occur to others. Honestly, I don't know what we did without these. I even bought two extra and put them in a drawer for later.

Great chewy
My 4 &1/2 year old toddler loves his new chewy. He’s on the autism spectrum and craves oral stimulation. It seems to help him relax.

In our case the "aquarium tubing" style chewy itself does not work well (my son doesn't like it), but if you hook the ring around ...
The elastic "phone cord"-style cable works well; it allows us to clip to my son's belt and he can still bring the chewy up to his mouth, but it doesn't hang onto the ground when he's seated. In our case the "aquarium tubing" style chewy itself does not work well (my son doesn't like it), but if you hook the ring around the Chubuddy strap we can put in a soft chewy, which he prefers. It's a little ridiculous to have to MacGuyver 3 different products together but whatever works :) https://smile.amazon.com/chubuddy-Chewy-Holder-Tether-Natural/dp/B00MFOPE6E/ref=pd_day0_21_7?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B00MFOPE6E&pd_rd_r=QYR284B1CMS849W99Z3F&pd_rd_w=glceP&pd_rd_wg=AVUeg&psc=1&refRID=QYR284B1CMS849W99Z3F

Be careful
The chewy is great but the attached coiled plastic turned into a weapon after it was Unattached from his shirt. Holding from the chewy and swinging like a whip. Maybe a different Design would help.

Durable
Great chewy. Having the clip is a great.... we clip to his shirt button hole or belt loop on his pants. My son is an aggressive chewer and this has held up quite well. The actual chewing part is extremely tough...he hasn't been able to chew threw it at all. My only issue is that the clip is plastic, which he has chewed off the part of the clip that attaches to whatever you are clipping it to.

Works for my kid
My son really likes this but I can’t imagine the price hike.. I remember purchasing this 2018 for $16 it did stay the same for few years then October 2021 for $19 and now it’s $38. Now I’m in search of something similar to this coz $38 is just too much if I do purchase 2 in a month.

Amazing Help
My step son has sensory issues and we had this first introduced from school. He lost it and his chewing on things like his clothes got really bad and so to make a family trip easier we ordered a new one and since he has had it again, the chewing has reduced drastically. So thankful for this item.
