I gave 4 stars because the product itself is actually great quality. What is wrong, as I'm sure you've read, are the instructions given with them. Do not use them, your guards will not work. I looked up how to measure without the guide and it worked much better for my second guard but I had to chuck the first because it was WAY too short which caused the springs not to work. Overall I did not think they were hard to assemble but I looked up a video on how to do it: measure and put the springs on after the first one didn't turn out well. Needless to say I did order another set so that I could make them correctly because, as I said, the quality of the product is great. Just follow someone else's instructions.

Very tough blade guards, suitable for walking in skates
The main beef about these blade guards is that the included instructions have led a lot of buyers to make mis-cuts, making the finished product too short. Well, if you are reading these reviews, now you know not to just go hacking away without measuring. :) The rubber is pretty tough, so cutting these things to size is no trivial matter. It takes a sharp utility knife and a thick cutting board, and a little muscle. BUT - it's not rocket science, either. I had no trouble cutting these to the perfect size just by trying them out on the skate blades. My only complaint - and it's a very minor quibble - is that the screws that go through and hold the springs are a teeny bit long, and they stick out from the guards. My kids walk around with these on their skates - they really give them a workout, too. No problems at all. Blades stay sharp, etc. Just remember to dry your skates before you put these on.

Do your own measuring! Template poor.
Cutting instructions are poor or maybe just incorrect. Used the number printed on the blade and followed figure skating cut template. I should have double checked! Their cut line for my blade number (10) was WAY TOO SMALL! (And I cut them a bit long from the measurement anyway.) I will not be able to get these on and off. I’ll have to buy another set. So disappointing!!

Longer length guards - perfect size
Perfect for size 9 women ice skates (blade length is 10 2/3” long) and I cut about a half inch off one of the guards for each skate. Purchased the teal color but sadly more of a turquoise blue. Seem to be sturdy and high quality. Easy enough to assemble. Not sure what some of the reviewers were complaining about, but I didn’t have a problem connecting the springs together. Just took some patience.

Not so good instructions but a perfect fit all the same.
If I could give a half star off I would. The only downside to these is that the instructions they come with don't really make sense to me on how you're supposed to cut the guards to fit your skates. In the end YouTube helped me out and they fit perfectly so it all worked out.

Good stuff!
They work and they fit snugg. No problems here attaching to hockey skates. Easy to cut and put together. No instruction needed. I skipped using the paper measure that came with it. Its a hit or missing using that. Great for the price.

The plastic is very goodz it does require one to cut for size and installed the springs. But creates a. Rey good strong blade cover.

Instructions lead to me making them useless
The instructions said to "find the matching number on the template, mark the BladeGaurd at that spot and cut all four pieces the same way" so I did and now I have one piece that is too small to use. I even cut it below the number just in case
