Update 7/26/17: Upon suggestion from my husband I contacted the company and told them about the issue. They apologized and immediately offered to send out a replacement lid. I received it and so far so good. So I'll give a star back for great customer service. Hopefully this was just a defect. One thing I'd suggest is perhaps screwing the lid on just tight enough to close it, but not so tight that it may force the plastic to crack. Not that I think I screwed the lid on super tightly before, but it's something I'm going to be conscious of this time around to see if it makes a difference. ------------------------------ Update 7/20/17: More of the plastic is cracking off... see picture. It's just a matter of time before enough of the plastic will crack off that the lid can't stay screwed closed. I'm going to contact the seller to find out if this is a common occurrence, or if it's a defect. I've had water bottles with plastic lids for decades that never did anything like this. ------------------------------ Update 6/29/17: A huge chunk of the plastic inside the main (bigger) screw lid started to crack a month or so ago, and about a week or so ago it completely cracked off. I can still screw the lid shut, and there's no leakage since the rubber seal is still intact, but unless this was a defective item the quality in these bottles definitely isn't there. Deducting another star. ------------------------------ Had I rated this bottle right after I received it, I probably would’ve given it 4 stars. However, thanks to the passage of time, which is always a good test, I’m giving it the rating it should have based on my experience with it for roughly 2 months (I ordered/received it in early/mid-February). First off, I’ll start by saying it’s a good water bottle that does the trick. I didn’t want anything fancy…just a 32 oz bottle that I could bring back and forth with me to work. I don’t use the bracelets, although they add interesting visual and sensory texture (it gives me a chuckle how they refer to the bracelets as a “water intake calculator” in the description). Visually, I think the ghost gray (which I ordered) would look much better and sleeker with a black lid, but that’s just cosmetics. I also think the lid would be much better if made with a non-slip material on the outside, so when you’re sweating your hands don’t slip when unscrewing the top. I love the dual lid (I always use the big lid but it’s nice to know I have another option, such as if I want to pour water out and have better control over where it goes). I also LOVE the ring, which is handy when I don’t want to set the lid down somewhere. The price was also decent, based on all of the other $20 and $30+ bottles I saw out there which offered way too much of what I wasn’t even looking for. This is why I would have given it 4 stars. The reason I took one star off is durability. As I mentioned above, I only bring the bottle back and forth with me to work in my tote bag, and it sits on my desk all day. It doesn’t get knocked around, or dropped, or even washed in the dishwasher (I hand wash it). However, I’ve noticed that inside the lid, pieces of the plastic are starting to chip off. I keep finding little white flecks of the plastic around the mouth of the bottle when I unscrew it (luckily I notice so I don’t drink them in when I go to take a sip…but it’s almost inevitable that one day I’ll miss a piece). I wouldn’t recommend against trying this bottle out, because mine could just be a defect, but do be aware and keep an eye out for chips of the plastic flaking off inside the lid.
