Bright and Easy

I got this laser line level for free as part of the Amazon Vine review program. These are my honest thoughts about it after playing around with it for a few hours and putting it through its paces. The instruction manual that came with this unit were short (4"x15" folded up strip), sweet, and to the point. Only thing that threw me about it was that the numbers on one side in the middle of the instructions were referring to the pictures on the other so figuring out which mode was which was done with trial and error. To help others, the three way switch says on, off, and has a lock icon in the middle of the two, I'll describe the lock and on since off is pretty self-explanatory. The lock icon indicates the laser lines are locked to the body of the unit. I'd imagine this would be useful if you were trying to hang a set of pictures in a perfect line on a stairwell. You'd lock the laser and tilt the body till the laser lines were where you wanted them. Note that in this mode the laser will blink off for ~1 second every ~5 seconds just to let you know that the lines aren't guaranteed to be actually level to the ground. The on position actually lets the laser float (up to a few degrees from level) inside the body. Imagine those little compass balls people used to put on the dashboards of their cars but with a laser "+" shooting out from it. This means you don't have to get the laser unit perfectly level itself, just get it mostly there and let it draw a perfectly level line side-to-side and up-to-down your wall or project. The picture I'm attaching to this review was taken with the laser ~25-30 feet from the wall and you can see the spirit level confirms that it is indeed a level line. In this mode if you're too far away from level the laser will flash rapidly but once it's level it will stay on continuously. You can use the laser line level on its own which seems fine for setting on a shelf, ladder, truck, etc or you can use the included magnetic/screw L bracket to stick the laser onto a ferrous surface like a refrigerator or truck or to hang it from an existing screw or nail. The screw threads are the same size as a camera mount as well so you could use your tripod for more precise and flexible positioning. I normally have trouble seeing the laser lines that my chop saw projects to help you align a cut but this tool doesn't suffer from the same problem. The longest straight run in my house is the hallway at ~50-60 feet long and the line is bright and clear at the end even in the middle of the day with sunlight shining through the windows and the hallway light on. Overall I'm very pleased with this and only wish I had know things like this existed before I started doing a bunch of projects around the house. Would have made leveling the ground up to some concrete steps, putting in metal planters in the yard, and building a plant wall in the living room so much easier if I didn't have to try to do it with 2 foot long spirit levels and could have just shot a straight line wherever I wanted it.

Simple and easy to use

If you haven't used one of these laser buddies before, they are a game changer, lemme tell you. Hangin a bunch of pictures on a newly painted wall? Bust this out and do all your layup super fast. Trying to make things the same height on the other side of the room and don't want the hassle of a finicky measuring tape? Boom. Want to have a lame laser disco? Here you go. I already own a pretty similar laser level to this one - It's more expensive and it does throw a laser dot directly above and below the device, which is very useful for some tasks, but not often. However, that device is kind of a pain to use in how the buttons and lock operates. Not so with this level! Operation is super simple. It has a tripod mount, and it comes with a magnetic bracket mount that will stick to the angle irons at the corners of walls, so you can pop it on and move it up or down as needed super fast. The device has a simple slide switch that moves from off, through two settings - lock and on. Lock turns on the laser, but locks the gimbal (auto-level), which means you can throw a beam at whatever angle you need. It's nice if you need a straight line, but don't need it level - or maybe you're checking level against a known level surface. The laser will blink every 5 seconds or so to remind you that it is locked and not level. This is a good thing and on the other unit I have it does it way more frequently, which makes it annoying. I didn't find the blinking here to be obtrusive. Lastly, when you pop it to on, the gimbal gets freed up and both the horizontal and vertical beams will self-level. The unit seems to be able to correct for maybe a 20 degree tilt before it hits the gimbal stops and then it will blink in the same way as above. Solid laser means you're good to go. I measured the light thrown against my trusty bubble level and found it perfectly accurate. Lastly, the beam strength is quite good. It can be seen fairly well even in a bright room. Direct sunlight is probably a no-go, but most lasers that aren't cutting through your wall are going to be hard to see. Beam projection had no problem reaching the far corner of another room 40 feet away, so I imagine the stated range is possible in the right conditions for sure.

Solo interiores

Está muy bien para ubicar verticales y horizontales en interiores, en exterior su visibilidad es nula, o solo de noche, pero es algo que esperaba, estoy satisfecho con el nivel láser, se autonivela muy rápido y es de fácil uso
