Comfortable with a stiffer sole than I expected
Coming from a beat down pair of Sidi the soles on these are stiff as a board, and that is a good thing. Comfortable out of the box.

Sizing is Strange
The listing for these is very confusing as far as sizing (at least it was when I purchased them). I looked at the size guide on FizIks website and kept adding them to my Amazon cart until my cart reflected the size I needed. I typically wear a women’s size 8 and these fit good. I have only used them on my indoor trainer and never for more than an hour so I can’t say how comfortable they would be on long rides, but so far, I have no complaints. Thee are my first pair of clipless shoes, but I’ve had no issues getting in and out of the peddles (again, only used indoors so far!). Green would not have been my first color choice for bike shoes, but I actually like them. I also haven’t walked around in them since I keep them next to my bike, but I did have to walk upstairs to get something once and had no issues. Wouldn’t want to walk a long distance, but for a quick hike a bike, they would be fine.

Best value all-terrain shoe on the market
I spent quite a while trying on shoes and even bought and resold a pair of $300 shoes that did not work out for me. These ended up being far and away the best value out there. Sure, they're NOT a carbon sole (pretty sure "injected carbon" is just a marketing game since these are definitely not like real carbon stiffness), but unless you're constantly pushing 300+ watts or doing lots of 100 mile gravel/road rides in these, you'll be fine. If you're doing that, just spend for the real carbon. These did start to hurt the bottom of my forefoot on a hard century I did recently. One of the best things about these is that they do break in, unlike many higher-end synthetic shoes that need to fit you perfect out of the box. They were a bit narrow at first but broke in to comfortably accommodate my slightly wide feet after 200 miles. The single boa isn't a problem for me at all since I never messed with the forefoot one mid-ride on my old shoes. Velcro does the job there and helps keep these very very light! I will say the low-end boa dials they use on these aren't great. They do the job, but you have to pop them completely loose and then retighten in order to loosen while riding (vs nicer boas where you can just dial them back a bit). They also take a bit more effort to pop loose than nicer ones, but it's fine. THEY NEED TO FIX THE US SIZING ON AMAZON. It's way off. Go by the EU size that shows when you add to cart and they'll be true to size. If you want solid, lightweight shoes that can do it all, but don't have endless money to throw at your hobby, these are the shoes for you!

Good shoe,poor sizing
This shoe is way to narrow the size advertised. Fortunately I have a friend size 8 narrow it fit them.

Great on the bike
I use this shoe on my road bike which had SPD pedals on it because I didn't want to invest in SPD-SL pedals. For this purpose, these shoes are great - the bottom is very rigid which is great for power transfer. I haven't had any discomfort or nerve pinching, and the Boa dial is a god send. I will say that if you plan to walk around a lot in your cycling shoes, then these are not the shoes for you. While they do have treads on them that elevate the cleat off the ground, this only really works on very flat surfaces. If the surface you are walking on is at all textured then the cleats will scrape the ground and you will feel it (even on some paved surfaces). The hard sole also would make it quite uncomfortable for walking (but it's also what makes these good for pedaling). On the bike, these are great, and seem more like a road shoe with a few MTB features like the treads and SPD cleats, which is exactly what I wanted. Beware: if you select your American size, you will get the wrong product. I ordered an 11.5 US and got a 42.5 EU which is obviously way too small. I had to return it and specifically order a 45 EU. So make the size conversion to EU yourself and then make sure the item you order has the correct EU size in the title. This problem is what stopped me from giving 5 stars.

Awesome value shoe
These are great for the money. I use them primarily as a road and commuting shoe and they work great and fit as expected.

Sizing Beware!
I really wanted to like these shoes. I'm an avid road and cyclocross rider and was looking for something new. I typically wear Specialized S-Works road shoes in a size 45 and Sidi Wire and Drako shoes in size 46 (I wear a size 11.5 in Nike and 12 in Asics running soes) and so I ordered a size 11.5 which showed up in my cart as a 42.5!? I tried it anyway and of course it was too small and was in fact a 42.5 despite being listed as an 11.5 on the dropdown for size selection. I ended up ordering a size 14! to get the right length but to be honest the shoes run a little wider than I expected. They're a really nice looking shoe, they're well made and the green color is different in a good way but the sizing on the site is all wrong! If you have a wider foot, then maybe these will work for you; I have a narrow foot, more of a Specialized or Sidi fit, so even after getting the legth right the width was still wrong. I was disappointed that they don't fit a narrow foot. I hope you have better luck.

Happy with shoe
Shoes fit more narrow than expected so dial to tighten them not being used. Like that they can be worn as shoes when taking the bike into work or running into a store.

It's tight & narrow shoe
So far so good but as others have mentioned, it's tight & narrow. I'm fine with that.

Great Shoe but be careful with sizing
Update, after riding in rain and getting the shoe wet the toe of the right shoe has developed a big hard bump or wrinkle in the leather that makes my big toe very sore. Trying to fix it by using a wood block wedged in the toe area while drying the shoe. This is a big design flaw. The left shoe has some small lumps in the leather. I hope this does not get worse. Sent 8 3/4 when ordered 10.5, So I returned. So I deciphered their sizing code and ordered the correct size using the cart size (not the one selected from the drop down menu). EG The listing indicates size 13 but when placed in cart changes to EU size 44. According to Fizik, size 44 is 10.75 US which is my size. I ordered, again, and they fit perfectly. After 3 rides the Fitik X5 are the most comfortable mtb shoe I have ever owned. Great power transfer.
