Love the wood wick! Nicely fragranced candle

I love lighting a candle either in my guest bathroom or in my home office to lift my mood. I really love the wood wick on this as you don't have to trim it in the same way you do with other candles. When it's first lit it also gives off a small but comforting crackle which I also love. The fragrance was really nice and I didn't find it to be overpowering at all. Floral fragrances can really be hit or miss for me but this definitely leaned more on the currant/fruit side which I was happy about. This candle burned cleanly and evenly but maybe a little fast due to the size of the wick. I did knock it a star because once I hit about halfway through the candle, it became really difficult to light and wouldn't stay lit no matter what I tried which was disappointing. I think my last attempt finally stayed lit but it took 4-5 tries at least because it would just spontaneously go out on its own. I do really like this candle and also appreciate that it comes with a lid which helps with storage too. Maybe the wick on this one was a one-off. Besides that, I really liked the candle itself.

Small but Nice Candle

This is a really nice candle. I really like the wood wick. It doesn't seem to pop or crackle like some wood wicks but I like the nice glow it provides. The scent is nice, I like that it isn't super floral and has a nice balance with the current scents. The flame is small and upon subsequent lighting is almost more of a smoldering than an actual flame. Overall happy with the "WoodWick® Renew Medium Candle, Black Currant & Rose, 6 oz.".

Love the overall quality, wooden wick and unique scent!

A happy medium in an amber colored jar with lid- has ample/easy light wooden wick.. Soy burns clean and no issue with any ash or heavy soot using soy wax/natural oils. Candle offers 35-40 hr. of realistic time. 98% of candle was spent before wick burned completely. Label is a transparent sticker with brand name and candle specifics- universal to match any decor. Black currant scent is sweet and pleasant, not too synthetic or overbearing with its noted hint of floral to help flow.. a unique surprise to be different from the same standard vanilla/lavender options! Drawbacks: candle lack a stronger throw. Reach is approx. 1-3ft. so, best used on desktop, nightstand, bathroom, bathtub edge.. any close proximity for user to enjoy aroma. Throw may also be affected by the candles smaller size- at $18 it is a higher price point for 6oz. A solid gift option or spoiler with a unique fragrance and wooden wick. Hoping info helps decision.. stay safe everyone.

Heavy sweetness, warm scent

Woodwick's renew candle line is refreshingly recycled and health friendly, two things I personally really can appreciate as I burn a candle in my home and wonder what me and my family are inhaling. This Black Currant and Rose candle smells very heavily sweet when unlit, not unlike Bing Cherries amplified, with some rosiness thrown in. It doesn't really have a great throw however, not even when lit, nor does the wood wick crackle in mine! I have had several woodwick candles over the years and they have all snapped away like a wildfire, so I was a little surprised and disappointed that this one doesn't really make any noise at all. The candle smells gently sweet as I walk past, but if I'm sitting across my small living room, I really can't smell it. I don't dislike it, but I wouldn't go out of my way to purchase it in future.

Expensive but well worth it

When we first got this candle delivered, my internal monologue was that for $16 this better be a really good candle as its not cheap . Well about two weeks later when we've been through the entire candle the answer to the question is a resounding yes! This is a premium candle through and through with an excellent and very potent scent and burns cleanly all the way to the end (almost). LIKES/SCENT - It is made with high-quality soy wax and features a unique wooden wick that crackles as it burns, creating a cozy and inviting atmosphere in any room. - Another great thing about it is that it can burn for up to 55 hours, providing you with plenty of time to enjoy its delightful fragrance. The scent is strong enough to fill a room without being overpowering - The scent is very unique with the scent of pink roses being the dominant fragrance and undertones of blackcurrant . It is both unique and pleasant - The fragrance fills the entire room and adjacent rooms quickly ... it is than potent - The wooden wick in combination with soy wax provide a uniform and consistent burn , all the way to the bottom - The candle comes in an elegant glass jar that can be reused once the candle has burned down. The jar has a stylish, modern design that will look great in any home decor setting. - The wooden lid is also a nice touch, as it helps to keep the candle fresh and protects it from dust and debris. FINAL THOUGHTS Overall, the Woodwick Renew Candle is a high-quality candle that provides a fantastic scent and a cozy atmosphere. With its long burn time, elegant design, and eco-friendly ingredients, this candle is a great choice for anyone who wants to enjoy the benefits of a scented candle without compromising on quality.

Strongly scented.

WoodWick's Renew Candle came very nicely packaged and protected. The packaging contained no plastics. The candle arrived undamaged. The candle comes in a dark amber glass jar with a cork cap. The candle is small, but very nicely made. The wood wick takes longer for the initial ignition than a traditional wick, but once started I had no issues re-lighting it quickly. The candle burns cleanly and evenly. The fragrance is a strong floral. It is quite noticeable in the room, and just a touch overpowering for me. I found the candle to burn more quickly than most. I appreciate that the wood wick doesn't need to be trimmed with scissors, and that you can just remove the excess with your fingers. All in all... a lovely candle - if strongly scented.

Black currant and rose

The cold sniff of this was concerning as all I could smell was the black currant. Lighting it however smells much more pleasant. It is a smaller candle but burns slowly and the fragrance fills the room. It is a strong scent so if you like lighter clean scents, this one isn’t for you.
