Great for the job.

Much better stone than the last one I bought. I've had this for a while now, as least a year possibly longer. It has held up and while it shows signs of use, it is in no way destroyed. I use this to sharpen my pet clippers, and to sharpen knives and scissors. This has worked well for all of those things. It took some practice to figure out how to best do the job, but once I had it figured out, I'm pretty good at getting a nice sharp edge. The other one I purchased and then later reviewed is a piece of junk. The thing fell apart in a few weeks. I mean literally broke in half. This one was way better. It doesn't slough off as you use it either. I mean you make small nicks and stuff, but nothing like the other. 5 stars on this one. Would recommend it!

Works great to sharpen very dull knives

After doing some research I landed on this product to sharpen our very dull knives rather than take them all to a professional. This item arrived in perfect condition and did the job well. I soaked it in water for 10 or so minutes, sharpened the knives at a 20 degree angle going back and forth to each side. Worked perfectly. No complaints. Easy, effective and inexpensive way to sharpen knives. I can't speak to the durability yet, but it worked great for the first use. Recommend.

Arrives broken

Seems to be an OK stone for $8, but mine showed up broken (they shipped it with bubble wrap and an envelope). Returned it and decided not to reorder. Going to get a higher quality set. I can see getting a decent cutting edge but not anywhere near razor sharp. Need a finer stone for that.

Excellent product that works as expected

Excellent product that works as expected. A little large to keep around the kitchen but excellent for your work shop. If you can't find a smaller similar product, use this one.

I love this stone

I love this stone. My grandfather used to have one just like this (he used it to sharpen his straight razor) and this one looks, feels and performs as well as that one. I'm very happy with it.
