Fixed My Issue
I have a very small space between my dryer and the hole in the wall that the vent goes through. This product was perfect for resolving that issue and not causing the dryer to have to stick out several inches into the laundry room. It was longer than I needed, but when I cut away some of the metal and pieced it back together, added some aluminum tape it worked perfectly.

A real space saver.
It gave me about 5 inches more room. It was easy to install and provides good airflow. I am a little. Concerned about lint build up with the more narow vent. I will need to watch that.

Fits perfectly
This kit was used as a side vent accessory for a tower laundry unit. It fit the dryer unit perfectly. Very functional ventilation without leakage keeping heat and lint out of the room.

Second time using. Great
Used same part 10 yrs ago, good length for our application. Renovating our laundry room, during the work was damaged so I bought another one. Works great for us.

Solved the Issue - After Dealing with Complications
This narrow-space vent effectively did what it was designed to do and allowed me to complete the job. --- Pros --- 1. Came as advertised... solved the issue and saved me space! 2. Came in good condition. No dents or bent metal. It was just a little greasy though... 3. Of reasonably solid construction. It wasn't overly flimsy or anything like that. 4. All the parts fit together easily and as expected. 5. Came with two clamps (one for each end). --- Cons --- 6. There are four total interlocking pieces: the two outlet pieces (with the vent holes), and then two optional middle pieces for extra length. You can either use the two outlet pieces alone for a shorter length, or you can use them with the two optional middle pieces... but you must use BOTH middle pieces, you cannot just use one. The four pieces come in two sizes... wider and narrower. One of the outlet pieces is narrower and slides into the other outlet piece which is wider. The same goes with the middle pieces. So you must use both middle pieces to get everything to work together (wider, narrower, wider, narrower). Now they accordion in and out so adjusting the length to what you want whether you're using 2 or 4 pieces is fine... however... due to the design if you use all four pieces you're going to have one connection with a wider piece going into a narrower piece, which is a no-no as the exhaust can be forces out of the gap between them. The way to resolve this is by sticking your handing into the very narrow vent with metal tape and trying to tape that seam from the inside. This is very difficult and complicates the installation. 7. The included clamps are the type that screws to a fixed size, not the type where the more you screw the tighter it gets, so I replaced them.

Brilliant tool, great for small spaces
This low profile dryer vent is a genius idea and it works great! A must have for anyone who has a small laundry room where every inch counts. I bought this when I replaced my washer and dryer and I couldn’t be happier. Very easy to install. This is a great problem solver. My laundry room at my house was not only small, it connected the kitchen to the backyard. When I got a new washer and dryer installed, the new dryer was just a smidge bigger than the ancient one it replaced but along with that extra inch or two came a big problem; the dryer was blocking the back door from opening. So, I looked around and found this and it solved my problem! It only took me a few minutes to install and it allowed me to push the dryer up snug against the wall so there was enough clearance for the door. Perfect! I used this for years without any issues until I moved recently and didn’t need it anymore. Or so I thought, now I’m probably going to get a much shorter one to fit our new laundry room (the washer and dryer at my new place are stacked) so that I can better utilize the limited space in the laundry room.

Tight spots
Got me a couple inches closer to the wall than a standard dryer vent. Found where the people who installed the previous vent as a courtesy ruptured The slinky line.

Works well for the intended purpose. Gets you maybe 2 inches of extra space
This periscoping vent was ideal for my needs. For my particular situation, I was building a countertop to go above my washer and dryer and needed a cleaner solution than the typical 5 inch corrugated aluminum hose. This fit the bill perfectly. Yes, it is aluminum and prone to damage if you are not careful with it, but no more so than the aluminum hose it replaced. In fact it is probably significantly stronger. The only downside I see is that I had to purchase aluminum tape separately so that I could seal the connection points. It did cost more than I was anticipating, but there are a little options for anything similar. I will also say, if you are looking for a significant space saver, temper your expectations. It probably gained me approximately 2 inches (meaning I could move my dryer two inches back further), which is not a lot, but not nothing.

Fits as advertised, but small holes where crimped sections meet allow a little air to escape.
For a number of years we used aluminum foil ducting to vent our dryer. It was not an ideal setup, but the configuration of our laundry pair prevented the use of conventional rigid or flexible metal ducting. I had a suspicion that the foil ducting was decreasing the efficiency of our dryer, but was unaware of how much. We would often end up running the dryer for additional cycles and still not have fully dried clothes. We were beginning to think it was time to replace our dryer. When I had the dryer out for cleaning and maintenance, I noticed that the foil duct was beginning to break down, so I decided it was time to replace it. When searching for a replacement I happened across this periscope style vent tube and thought it seemed like a better alternative. It installed easily into our space limited application (actually better than the foil ducting) and now our clothes dry on the first cycle almost every time. As I noted in the headline, there are small gaps where the crimped seams meet and where the periscope sections meet. I didn't worry about the small holes, but I did use aluminum tape where the periscope sections meet. In our application, I suspect that our energy savings will cover the additional cost of the vent periscope with the added benefit of increased sanity.

Very Pleased with Dryer Vent
I was pleased with the quality and ease of installation of my dryer vent. It also was shipped in a timely fashion. Well done Amazon and Whirlpool.

Great idea for tight space
We bought new LG full sized washer and dryer and needed to get them closer to the wall because the sheer size of the machines nearly overwhelmed the laundry room. I hired a plumber to re-do the water connections using low profile connectors and had him install this low profile periscope while he was at it to replace the bulky foil coil vent. He seemed to have no trouble installing, though I think he used some metallic tape to make the seal perfect. A few inches closer to the wall makes a huge difference, the room now looks terrific and the machines pretty well line up with the laundry sink.

Good value
Didn’t fit mine without some modification. Would not consider this a problem with the product

Shortest distance to the exit ductwork at the wall
The smoother, shorter, and less restrictive you can make the run of the vent tubing, the faster your clothes will dry. Shorter operating time also means that the dryer has to run less saving you energy and less wear on your clothes. Although the 4-inch (10 cm) ridged metal is the preferred kind of dryer ductwork, another product that is a game-changer is the offset ‘Dryer Telescoping Vent Periscope’ or Slim Duct. The narrower diameter design comes with 2 metal clamps (i.e. hose clamps), is made of smooth ridged sheet aluminum, is available in various adjustable lengths, and has a male fitting on one end and a female fitting on the other. [During installation, make sure the crimped (male) end is point toward the airflow direction and the uncrimped (female) end is toward the dryer - to avoid lint buildup at the joints.] Because it is one unit, you are less likely to need additional parts, thereby saving you money. Installation can sometimes be a bit tricky because you are working in a very confined space (consider using this item in conjunction with a MagVent Dryer Vent Connector on the male fitting for an easy connection), but once done it will give you peace of mind, provides the shortest distance to the exit ductwork at the wall, gets your dryer closer to the wall, and gives you more floor space in front - I gained 2.5 inches (6.4 cm)! Win, win, win, and win!
