I purchased cheaper ones that turned the water black, this brand kept the potable water clear!!

This is my second style foot pump, the first one "not from Whale" worked great, but if water sat in it for a hour turned the water black, not a good look for off grid camping of potable water. The Whale unit is working great three months now and crystal clear water!

I must say that this foot pump is obnoxiously loud when you use it. It sounds identical to a clown horn. At first I thought it was just something that would occur the first few times of using it...nope...it's a life long attribute of this pump. Other than the obnoxiously loud squeak horn noise, pump works great as it should and is sturdy and well built.

Works great

This is easy to install and a great product so far. I didn’t tighten the clasps on the tubes tight enough at first so it leaked but now that I’ve tightened that up it works great!

Small but powerful!

To those who are complaining about it leaking, you must not be installing it correctly. As with any opening that has water flowing through it, you have to use the thread sealant tape liberally and ensure you tighten the straps tight enough to secure the tubes but not to over tighten it to the point where you'll break the plastic. Great suction power with a thick rubber material. Happy with my purchase! I use it in my van build and I like that I can control the amount of water I use instead of using a 12v water pump that continuously draws water.

Great for replacing hand pump in camper

I bought this pump to replace the crappy hand-pump for the sink in my slide in truck camper. It works great! Even though I had to use over 15ft of tubing to connect the water tank to the pump and then to the faucet, the water pressure is exactly what I was looking for (it dribbles if you’re not pumping hard, and my goal is to conserve water). The pump is small, out of the way, and super easy to install. Now I don’t have to awkwardly wash my hands one at a time!

This was an easy install for a mini kitchenette we added to a conversion motorhome. Works great, just low water flow rate, but it does the job.

Solid and simple to use

Small size but pumps a reasonable amount of water. You couldn't empty a pond with it but fine for a few gallons. Haven't used it much but seems solid and well made.

Better flow than expected.

I bought this for a hand washing sink in a van. When I first opened it, it whistled loudly with each squeeze and I thought "oh no!" But the pump works silently when there is water going through it. It pushes a lot more water through with each pump than I expected which is great. You really have a lot of control over the flow if you are trying to reduce water waste, ie push down a little slower or faster to change the flow. The pump feels pretty rugged and I think should get quite a few miles out of it. Has screw holes to mount it which is a nice touch. Overall very happy!

Excellent quiet foot pump with good control

I was really looking forward to a simple mechanical foot pump for my off-grid cabin. It made a squeaky noise without water flowing but when I completed my system, it was silent and worked wonderfully. Great control over the water flow. Will order more for our subsequent cabins.
