BEWARE... pain in the butt, which requires some DIY knowledge
OK, first of all, this is EXACTLY the light I was looking for at the price I wanted to spend. So with that in mind, the purchase of this light was a no-brainer, despite the knowledge I would basically have to strip it down completely and rebuild/rewire it. This is exactly what had to be done! The light comes with lamp cords that are LONG - like 6ft. I needed cords that were 6 INCHES! The first thing I did was cut all the wires where they splice together above the base plate. Then in order to shorten the cords, you have to gently unscrew little plastic set-screws where the cords come through the base of the light. Two of these stripped immediately and couldn't be turned. I had to use a screwdriver and razor to dig out the set screws. I pulled all the cable through the base until 6-inches of cord extended to the light fixtures. As the set-screws were screwed (no pun intended) I then applied a liberal ball of liquid nails to the cables so they couldn't slide back down through the based of the light. Now came the fun part... rewiring all the fixtures. The reason this is fun is because each cord contains three individual cords, all of which are clear. There are no markings on any of the inner cords except a faint green line on the ground cord. So once you wirenut all the grounds, now you have to figure out which wires are hot and which are neutral. This took a good hour of wirenutting, hooking up to power, flipping the switch, seeing which bulb would work, unhooking from power, un-wirenutting, reconfiguring the wires, re-wirenutting, hooking back up to power, flipping the switch, etc. Up the ladder, down the ladder, up the ladder, down the ladder. In the end they all worked, the light went back up for the last time, and I had the light I originally wanted with the cable lengths I needed. It looks pretty nice. Overall it wasn't a bad experience because I knew this is what I was going to end up doing. Someone who isn't electrically skilled or knowledgeable in the DIY trades wouldn't want to go for this light. This isn't a novice light, nor is it overly easy to install or user friendly for a novice. Would I buy it again? If it were the same price, absolutely!!

Pretty good for DIY
This is one of the few solutions with a ready made electrical setup for adding your own pendant types. I'd prefer if it was more modern looking (ceiling plate square vs rounded edges). You have to be OK with translucent raw cords - and they may or may not straighten completely depending on the weight of your pendants. In hindsight, I'd choose the bronze set with the darker cords for a more vintage look, but since I couldn't find any displays in stores to see how this puppy looks, I went with the finishes on my kitchen hardware. Instead of buying a glass shade, I added raw vintage bulbs and bulb cages (see additional images). The cage fits great over the socket. There is a crapload of extra cord, you could dangle these from Mars. And the instructions were so wrong that there was a little firestorm the first time I turned on the switch (electricity is scary!) - this was with a professional handyman doing the wiring. But then he did the exact opposite of what was written and it worked out OK (test to see if these light up correctly BEFORE you attach the ceiling mount).

great light, just the right size
i purchased this item after seeing it in person at home depot. i sought to see it in person because i couldn't quite figure out how it looked. i have done a small remodel on my kitchen and needed to replace a box florescent light with something and chose this pendant light set. be aware that the lamp shades or globes do not come with it, which allows for some cool decorating ideas. i like that the cord that the lights hang from are adjustable from the full 50 inchesto as low as 10 inches (which is what i needed). there is a plastic thumbscrew hidden at the top of each of the pendants that allows you to adjust before you cut. this was perfect for over my sink. westinghouse sells lots of great globes to fit this fixture and those can be found various places including the home depot.

Nice budget fixture
A little flimsy but works great. It wasn't easy to align the screws during installation.

Great light for the price!
Aside from the fact that one of the round nuts were missing and I had to replace it with a regular, non decorative nut, it is a great light. It's a little hard to get all of the tubes inside of the mounting house, especially when you shorten them a good bit. But the light made a huge difference in our kitchen! I love it!

bad wiring and instructions
the product has a cheap feel, and was poorly assembled. the holders for the individual lights were off center, making it hard to put the glass pendant on. the product was wired incorrectly: to make it work, we had to re-wire it, as the neutral was wired to the ground. worst of all, the instructions are just plain stupid: the text references wires not depicted on the wiring illustration, and the table of wires just does not match the actual wires in color. this made it difficult to install.

No complaints!
We got these after an identical product from a different manufacturer burned up after less than a year, and we were unsuccessful at getting it replaced under that warranty. We have had this one for a year now with no problems whatsoever. Very happy.
