A cheap fan
Good: cheap, spins, lights are bright. Looks alright. Instructions are reasonable. Bad: Hangs crooked (the downpipe is at an angle when tightened), made a scraping noise when I first turned the fan on. Perfect for the room it's in, which primarily needs light and, very rarely, some air movement. I didn't bother with a remote, but there is just enough room for a receiver.

Works well, works quietly, looks good
Once installed, these work silently and smoothly. I bought 4 of them and installed them with the help of my father-in-law, who has done this many times before. They replaced some existing (ugly) ceiling fans, so I didn’t have to worry about making sure the electrical box could support the weight. If this is the case for you, then the process was simple enough that you can do it after watching a few YouTube “how-to” videos. Just a word of warning: make sure you have a wide variety of bolts to attach the fan to the electrical box. I had to make 2 trips to the hardware store because the house had 3 different types of electrical boxes. They do not come with remotes, but I bought generic remotes and they work perfectly. The fan blades did not need to be balanced. Overall, I am very happy with this purchase and I would buy them again.

Very pretty ceiling fans
Purchased the ceiling fan for the master bedroom in our most recent home purchase/rehab project. We love it! Our realtor loves them, as well as several flippers we know! Gives a nice modern feel to the room. My husband said it was mostly an easy to install, took about a 30 minute to install them - and he has limited ‘handy man’ experience doing these things. I’m only giving this 4 stars because I feel the lights aren’t as bright as I expected. Plenty of light, but not as bright as it could be.

Simple and Modern
Simple install and modern aesthetic. Nothing more, nothing less. Blades are fairly balanced out of the box.

Poor design doesn't blow air like it should
After installing this fan, I could hardly feel any air movement, even on the highest setting. If I raised my arm to almost reach the blades, I could barely feel a slight breeze. Then I noticed something odd. At the edge of the blades, air was blowing outward. Not downward, but sideways. After doing a bit of research, I discovered the fan was too close to the ceiling. The little 4 inch down rod included with the fan doesn't give sufficient room to work properly. When a ceiling fan is too close to the ceiling and isn't designed properly, a vacuum is created above the blades which sucks air upward. This fan has the blades mounted to the top of the motor rather than the bottom like other fans, so the blades are 2-3 inches higher than normal. Another design flaw which adds to this problem is that the blades are set to a 10 degree angle instead of 14 degrees like most fans. The low fan angle allowed Westinghouse to get by using a cheap, wimpy motor. Rather than going to all the trouble of disassembling the fan and sending it back, I went to my local big box home improvement store, and bought a 12 inch down rod to replace the puny 4 inch one. Voilà! My fan now works perfectly. Luckily for me, my ceiling is higher than most, so a 12 inch down rod doesn't lower the fan too far. If my home had standard 8 foot tall ceilings, I'd be in trouble. 12 inches would be too long, and it's impossible to find a down rod between 6 and 12 inches. While 6 inches *might* be enough to lessen the problem, 8 would work better. At least that's what my research said. Other than the fan not doing what it's supposed to do--namely blow lots of air air downward--it's pretty decent. It looks nice. It's quiet. It's lightweight (because of lighter components and the smaller motor). It seems solidly built. It can even use standard size bulbs instead of the tiny candelabra ones now used in most other ceiling fans. Were I to do it over, I'd select a fan made by a company with experience making high quality ceiling fans. Although I got my fan to work, I'm concerned about the wimpy motor and other corners Westinghouse cut to boost their profits. They should stick to making large industrial products, like locomotives. They also make nuclear power plants, but nuclear is still far more dangerous than renewable resources like wind and solar. Maybe they should use their brainpower to design safe nuclear plants rather than defective ceiling fans.

Quiet. Looks nice. Moves Air.
The fan overall is nice. It's quiet. It moves enough air to suck in a small child. Mine was well balanced. The light is middle of the road. My only complaint is that the smell of the blades was quite strong for the first 90 days (or so) after I installed it. Like a particle board laminate smell. The smell was more pronounced if the fan was on high. Apart from that, I'm as happy as you can be with a fan. It didn't blow up after a month like my hunter fan.

Nice fan!
Very nice fan! Well made! Good price! Easy to install. Very quiet and no vibration. I would definitely recommend. Another great deal from Amazon!

Difficult to balance... Stock lights are dull.
As much trouble as I had trying to balance the spin, I will say as close as I got it was pretty quiet. The install was a pain! The fan that came out had a hanger on a hinge to hold it up while you install it. Not this one ... Had to hold it up AND wire it at the same time. And then attaching it to the hanger from there, also a huge pain. Do not recommend it for this reason.

Controlled by chains, Cheap, quiet motor - hard to stop the chains rattling quietly
Controlled by chains which rattle when it gets going. In theory trial and error can fix this, but I have long since lost the little pieces to hook on the fans which came with it. No remote control, so I had to create my own remote switches and controls e.g. so you can turn the light or fan on. Will probably buy a better product to replace it eventually.
