Easy to install and looks quite elegant

This is my 3rd purchase of this exact lighting fixture, having used this same one in each of my upstairs bedrooms. Easy to install, the frosted glass gives just the right amount of light diffusion, and the oil rubbed bronze finish is the perfect contrast to the wood whitewash board ceilings installed in all the rooms. Highly Recommended!

Looks great but is a tricky install.

The first unit arrived with a broken frosted globe. The replacement one was good. To echo what others have said, installation was less than smooth. The design has you insert screws into the ceiling plate, then carefully raise the fixture until the screws poke through the base plate, then twist the fixture to lock them in and tighten. The problem is that the insulation is too thick and intrusive to navigate this easily. Tips for installing: remove about a half inch of the insulation, widen the holes in the remaining insulation to make lining up the screws and the slotted openings in the fixture easier. Have a helper with a strong flashlight below. Once its done, it looks great and we are happy to not have to do this again for a long time!

Instructions are misleading! Choose the right screw holes!

Overall these are pretty nice looking lights and I was glad to find this style with 3 sockets in the design. I ordered two and one of them almost didn't let the little finial nut screw on because the threads were too short, but I was able to tighten the other nut that actually holds the glass up just enough that I was able to make it work. My biggest gripe is that the install instructions are straight up wrong about one thing, and it made me waste about 45 minutes of my life trying to figure it out. There are two screw holes on each end of the bracket that holds up the fixture. The instructions clearly say to use one hole, but it's the wrong one. Imagine my fury when I realized that I had been trying to use the wrong screw holes on each end for the whole time and I couldn't get them to line up. After realizing that was wrong, the 2nd light was much easier to out up and took about 10 minutes instead of an hour. Hopefully I just saved you some time!

Difficult to install

The screws that come with it are to short to install through the insulation. I had to purchase longer screws to line up with mounting holes.

Great price for this fixture

We needed a bright 3 bulb light fixture for our master bedroom since there is only 1 window in that room but alot of the fixtures we looked at were pretty pricey. This Westinghouse one was the perfect fit though. It's a great size and with the 3 lights at 60watts, it makes the room super bright even in the middle of the night. The color of the oil rubbed bronze is really classy, and almost appears black at times while the white swirl effect of the glass dome gives the fixture an extra bit of wow factor. Even though it looks like your typical type of light fixture, the price just can't be beat. We were looking at other 3 light fixtures that were double the price or more. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because the installation was actually sort of a hassle. There is this huge, thick layer of foam that you are supposed to get 2 tiny screws through into the ceiling, in an almost blind fashion. It was quite annoying and even though I was helping my husband, it still took a while to get it properly installed and our arms were killing us by that point. Other than that, it is a great, inexpensive fixture that looks much nicer in person and more expensive than it really is.

Brighter, whiter, enclosed (no bugs)

The only hard part of installation was getting the 2 screws through the substantial insulation layer, and into the top's holes, to lock in the fixture. This fixture about doubled the amount of light from the same 3 compact fluorescent bulbs that previously had only ceiling paint to reflect the light. This fixture has a polished aluminum surface to reflect the light down and the glass transmits the light very well. The fixture is also enclosed, so bugs shouldn't accumulate in the bowl. The insulation is for incandescent use, so I'm quite sure that its over-engineered for CFL heat output. When we purchased the ALZO Digital photo CFL's, the light from the 3 new bulbs seemed to double again. They are great for kitchen and bathroom use, as the color rendering index is >91!. The new, bigger bulbs were a tight fit, but the glass cover gets as warm as they do (the ceiling stays cool), so I don't think it matters that they touch. I've already bought 2 of the 11" 2-light fixtures for the bedrooms.

great light, installation diagram has a mistake on it

I just finished installing this light and it looks great. 3 compact FL 23w (regular base, narrow short bulb) fit perfectly. There is an error in the diagram of the installation instructions that if you do not catch it, it will make the installation impossible until you figure it out (or at least very difficult.) The diagram shows screwing in the bolts that the fixture hangs from into the OUTER holes in the hanging bracket. They should be screwed into the INNER holes so that they are 3" a part which is the distance the holes in the bracket that these bolts fit into are apart. Also, the precut holes in the insulation that the bolts go through were not aligned with the holes. If that is the case with yours, just make new holes in the fiberglass insulation that align with the bold holes/slot.

It’s a great light.

This is a good quality light fixture. You get what you see. They were bought to replace a bathroom and a walk-in closet fixture.
