Perfectly simple

You plug it. In, plug in the lamp (or whatever) cord to the device, and it works. On the back you dial to the length of time you want it to stay on after all motion near it has stopped. When first set up it flashes on and off a few times, then works as advertised. For me it is just right for my dead end black hole of a bathroom. Walk in, little lamp on the counter comes on. Walk out and four minutes later (length of time I chose) lamp goes off. You just need to have the device plugged into an outlet in direct sight line of any movement. If your kitty cat walks by, your light will come on. If you are sitting still longer than your chosen time, the light will go off. Wave your hand or shrug your shoulder - light.

Used them to scare cats off counter

I have a cat that would wait until I went to bed then jump up on my kitchen counter...I noticed the behavior when things had been displaced, so I set up a motion camera and figured out what was going on. Before ordering this outlet detector, I tried 2 other scare tactics with a bluetooth speaker that would play an alarm sound at full volume when the camera detected the cat. But that didn't scare the cat. I have outlets on my kitchen counter that I plugged these into, then plugged in 2 mini shop-vac vacuums. We all know how cats hate vacuums. Well, it worked...cat jumped on counter, motion plug activated shopvac, cat bolted from counter and has not been back since. I still keep the camera on to make sure it's a permanent fix and it has been a couple months now with no recurrence and no further use for these plugs...for now.

Extra light control in the garage

Added a strip fixture in the garage and put the motion sensor on it to possibly turn it on and off. Nice adjustable timer. It activates as the car rolls in and adds extra light to unload and automatic shut off makes it hands free.

You don’t know yet that this product will irritate you…

This works 100% as advertised. Three things irritate me about this product: 1. It does not know the difference between a bright room and a dark room so it turns the light on every time you or the cat walks by even when the room is brightly filled with sunshine. And it makes a clicking sound each time 2. The motion detection range is very narrow so the light only stays on for about 1 second then clicks off again. If it stayed on for 10-15 seconds it would be much better. 3. That I did not read and comprehend the product description well enough to realize that the above would irritate me.

A motion sensor that works

This product does exactly what it was intended to do. I am very happy with it. I have an electric fog mirror with lights that turns on when I enter the washroom. This motion sensor has settings for 1,2,5,10, and 20 mins. Its easy to setup simply by turning a screw on the settting you want. I wish it had a setting for 15 mins. But its still good, I set my timer for 10 mins and works great! I recommend the product for price and simplicity

Works like a charm.

I had been looking for one of these for ages and this one is ideal for a sentry light in a hallway or windowless room. It is discrete and the time settings are extremely useful. The short setting is like a flashing warning if you have very young children prone to wandering or any area you want to keep an eye on. So far 100% reliable. Not cheap but it works and appears robust.

The unit relay is tripping on power up

My husband bought the first unit about two weeks ago and soon found out that when plugged into the power socket its relay starts tripping (about 4-5 on/off cycles one second apart) then nothing happens for about 10 seconds before the sensor is activated. From there on the unit works as expected. Power down and power up again, the unit will repeat the very annoying init procedure I just described that could potentially damage the power consumer controlled by this unit. Considering the above an undesirable behaviour and most likely having bought a defective unit, we decided to order a second unit that arrived today. Unfortunately the new unit is no better, behaving the same way when plugged into the power socket. I am wondering if anyone else ended up with a unit having same issue.
