First let me note that the item description says volume 10 developer, i looked at the pictures and it says 20 volume developer which is what i wanted and received, I like the quality of wella charm dyes and developers its gentle on my hair unlike most store brands that tend to burn your hair and leave it dry. the advertiser needs to fix the descriptions :-)

Good for general use retro-brightening

I use this 40V for restoring yellowed ABS plastics. It works well and uniform. The viscosity could be a bit higher, it's a little too runny, but then again, I am not using it for its intended hair salon application, so I cannot fault it. For retro brightening, it's a bargain at this price.

Thin but works fine

A lot of reviews on here say it wasn't sealed when it arrived, however whether I buy developer from Amazon, Sally, shoppers it's never sealed. Undo the lid and you're ready to go. So I don't think that's weird. However, I agree it's VERY thin consistency. Like, freaky thin. But I used it and it worked fine. My bottle arrived in good shape, no leaks

Wella ColourCharm Tango 20Vol. lifts better than this

I don’t know if the product was defective but something was wrong, I used it with the 1:1 ratio with the wella colour charm liquid hair colour and after 45 minutes with a cap to get subtle highlights, there was nothing. At the same time I bought the 20 Vol. colourcharm tango developer and did a strand test one developer on each side. This product I felt was a fake, no lift no nothing. The other product lifted my test stand about 3 levels. I can’t even return this or get a refund. I’d advise you to spend the extra $ and get a different developer.

The end result turned out fine, but the developer worker a lot slower than any other one I have used, so there was a good 10 mins where I was panicking, thinking it wasn't going to work and I had just wasted my tube of colour cream, and my time. My hair feels nice and soft though, good shine and good colour. I would use again, now that I know what to expect

Defective -Extremely Thin Consistency

Terrible product this time. I've ordered it once previously and it was 3-4 × thicker. This had a water like consistency. Knowing from the start it was extremely watery I still gave a very careful cautious chance as I purchased an exact bottle elsewhere to compare, you could immediately see from the appearance that, that bottle was much thicker. I begged my licensed hair dresser of 17 years against her better judgement telling me not to bother trying it, that it's consistency cant even properly be thickened with the lightening powder to apply it and who knows what's in it. I insisted we try 2 foils of each bottle on not too noticeable area on my med-dark blonde hair. Here's what we found , we had to apply double the lightening powder to try and thicken it even a tiny bit as you couldn't even pick it up to apply to the hair, which made not much of a difference as it was still almost impossible. (Note I've had highlights done in salons for atleast 20 years. I'm now in my mid 40s) The last 3 years done myself, with instructions from my hair dressor and worked excellent since start of covid, that was the first bottle used from ordering here, as well as the wella lightening powder & toner, I was amazed.) So fast forward appx 2+ years, after constant great results didn't hesitate to to reorder the developer, I still had about 1/ 2 lightening powder left which was used with both wella bottles this time. Exact same application was applied on 2 foils each on either sides, waited and waiteddd way past the usual 35-45 mins, we actually waited 2 hours, checking every 15 mins. IT did nothing but add a bit of a copper tone. To have waited 2 hrs on med/ dark blonde hair was not at all the normal results, with a thicker same product it would have fried those off pretty good. At the same time we did 2 foils on the darker back under layers with the exact bottle but purchased else where, those were taken out after 30 mins and were a pale very light blonde. We used the same lightening powder and application. I already was 95% sure it was too watery to start but still gave that chance, and was correct. I'm returning the developer to Amazon. Such a disappointment I was beyond amazed with the first bottle I'd purchased previously from Amazon. I loveee shopping on Amazon and have had great experiences in the past and continue to shop there. The bottle was brought inside immediately after delivery. Nothing diferent on my end had been done.
