THEY FIT (suprise!) & I LOVE THEM!!!

i ❤️LOVE❤️ bib overalls. i have many pairs in different colors & love wearing them all. i wanted a pair of "engineer" striped bibs & haven't seen them in stores for a long, long time... at least not ones that would come close to fitting me. i'm 5'1" tall & weigh about 102lbs. i know any bibs i find will be miles long but that's okay; i can hem or cuff them (cuffing adds to the character ????). there were two brands of striped bibs on Amazon that i was considering & after reading over the reviews of both i decided on these Big Smith bibs. i ordered the smallest size (30 x 32) hoping that they would shrink. i don't look for form-fitting overalls. it's fun if they are roomy enough to be comfortable without, as another reviewer said, looking clownishly big. my Big Smith bibs arrived in yesterday's mail, i tried them on, washed them today (we only use cold water for washing), put them in the dryer on the highest (cotton) setting, & dried them thoroughly. they did shrink & i love the way they fit now. they are still long, but not as long as they were pre-washing, & they are smaller through the body than when i unpackaged them & are now a really comfy, not at all too small, fit. i will need to shorten the shoulder straps because i have them pulled as short as i can (the hardware is on the top of my shoulder) & it's still not quite enough. that's an easy enough job. they seem to be very well made. love the pocket watch pocket. love the triple stitched seams. love the fabric; nice & tightly woven but not at all stiff. love the stripes; a really deep blue & a white for distinct striping. love the deep pockets (why the heck do clothing manufacturers think women only want pseudo pockets & don't deserve or want REAL pockets?!). i wore them today warm from the dryer with a red turtlneck, red Converse hightop sneakers., AND a pocket watch with its chain! tell me, does it get any better than that? ???? time will tell how durable these are but, at this point in time, i couldn't be happier if i was twins. ????

Buy at least one size bigger.

It says relax for buy normal size No No No. I wear a 44x30 every day. Ordered larger 46x30 in this brand keep in truck for emergency slip over. The Waist and belly same exactly as a 44x30. Straps over shoulder are though about 2 inches longer helps not to ride up so bad. I will wear this normal and now order 48x30 for slip over.

Broken clip

My husband Love the overalls but after a few washes and drying one fastener clip broke into. Leaving my bibs useless Will purchase more later on. Would be nice to find a clip to replace the fastener metal hook

Read other reviews for size

I typically wear size 32x32 so that's what I purchased. They were too tight and really long. After reading other reviews, I traded them out for 36x30 thanks to Prime's Try before you buy policy. These fit perfectly. They're very comfortable and the material feels quite durable. I'm 5'9 and weigh about 185.

Returned, poor fit and not a good look

I didn't keep them; they would have needed too many alterations to make me happy. They are durable and serviceable.

Sturdy

Great product. Sturdy enough for working outside in garden. Only problem is that you might want to go a size or two up from your normal size to ensure comfortable level of working.

Buy big

These are great overalls. I wear a 33 waist pant but ordered a size 38 in these. They are not quite as loose around the waist as i would like so I'm going to order a size 40 to get the fit I want.... Had the same experience with another brand but this was in a store so I could try on sizes... Also don't short yourself on length, they will shorten up....Had people at work ask where they could get these overalls.

Consider your stature before ordering

I am a the average 50 year old tall man and noticeably I have what some call a beer belly but I am not round by any means. My many pairs of jeans I own and wear are all of the same size in waist and inseam and fit me fairly well on my preferred slightly loose side. With this in mind I had ordered my first ever pair of these overalls the same as my normal jeans size and these are the results my findings. On receiving my package with these overalls I found them to be a nice thinner soft denim and lighter in weight than I thought and I appreciate this over having to break in a pair of stiff denim. The hardware on the item looked to be of lasting quality as well as the stitching. On trying them on for the first time I slid into them with ease and attempted to button the straps on and this is where I noticed a difference from my expectations. I found the inseam to be perfect fit, and the straps long enough to center myself in these overalls but when I buttoned the side buttons up it was clearly evident that either the waist size I normally wear was not going to be large enough to fit me comfortably. With this I ended up exchanging them for a one size larger waist size and attempted to try on again. This time it was a much better experience. These overalls in my opinion and agreeing with what some have mentioned in reviews before are best purchased one size large in waist if you have more of a mid section above your belt line. As far as quality for the dollar they seem to be true to what others have said and time will tell how they hold up. There is a reason that others as well as myself have left good reviews.

Wrong colour order

They fit awesome first pair I got I did order stonewash and recieved deep blue (rigid) instead so when I re ordered I even added I ordered stone wash and recieved rigid again..
