Such a great deal for a solid tool
I've used "nicer" grinders, but haven't ever owned one. I really didn't want to invest a ton in it and was looking for a good bang:buck ratio. This nails it. The construction is solid. It does everything I want well. It makes things like the "nice" Harbor Freight model look like garbage. Chances are, if you're looking at this model, it's probably the best fit for you. The only knock is that the tool rests are "ok." The flat one is definitely usable, which is not the case with cheaper grinders. But the notches don't allow me to get to 25 degrees I want on my chisels and plane irons. I just dropped a washer in there and it holds well. I haven't thought about it since. I did set aside the course stone and the grooved tool rest and replaced that with a brass wire brush (also Wen brand) that I use for rust removal. They may be useful to you, but the fine stone is as much as I need and the grooved rest is awkward for what I do. Really I don't want it in the way with the wire brush because I'm just doing random angles. It's perfect for what I use it for: totally re-bevelling edges and restoration of old rusty tools. I just keep water handy to not take the temper out of steel and blow through my work pretty quickly. The lights and guards are nice in my dark workroom. Not fancy, but sufficient. If I need a better view from the side, I use a cheap IKEA crane neck LED lamp. I am paranoid and wear goggles and a respirator while I work. For longer sessions I wear hearing protection. I've just damaged myself (and my glasses) enough at this age to even chance it anymore. But I haven't noticed particles flying at me and keep the plastic guards in place. I've never owned a Wen tool before, but will likely look to them first for tools like this going forward. You'd have to pay at least twice this to get a better tool. If you're in that market, you probably know it and wouldn't even be looking at this. I wouldn't buy anything cheaper because it'll be regrettably underwhelming.

Finally replaced my old HEAVY craftsman with this much better lightweight one.
2023 I decided to (slowly) replace all my old, 20+ year old workshops tools, with some modern, less heavy, and better ones. Read up on this "Wen" company and liked all the reviews...almost all their tool products have 4.5 star reviews, some even better then DeWalt and Milwaukee items! So as you can see in the photo I got a Wen Drill press, this advertised Wen bench Grinder, and the handheld grinder (all orange colors). WOW! Not only are they cheaper priced, they weigh much less, give you some extra cool features like lights, water cooling tray. A tool is a tool and it gets the job done. I'm sold on Wen products. Highly recomended.

Bench grinder.
No complaints. Works great and seems to be built to last.

Works as it should.
Very possibly a relabeled Jet brand grinder or vice-versa. Works well but the lights are very cheap battery powered LED’s. I really don’t need the lights so perfect for my needs. For the price, you can’t beat it.

Nice grinder for the home garage

Best bargain on the market IMO
The media could not be loaded. Seems to be the best bag for the buck in the 8" grinder market. If I have any issues with it I will update.

LED lights are battery powered and bench grinder came missing hardware.
I like WEN products. I the drill press (pictured) which I absolutely love, and a plunge router that is also one of my favorite tools. However. I recently bought a WEN plastic service cart which came missing about half of the hardware. Instead of mailing me the hardware, I had to disassemble it (already halfway through assembling) and box it back up, take it to the UPS store and drop it off...then wait for the replacement. This Bench grinder came missing the brackets for the tool rests. I'm not imagining this, the brackets just aren't in the box. But, this dude is heavy. So, I elected to fabricate my own brackets instead of...boxing it back up, taking it to the UPS store to drop it off...and waiting for the replacement. As for the work lights. My eyes are getting older and I would have like to have work lights on the bench grinder. This replaces a 40-year-old Craftsman bench grinder that had finally reached it's finally days, that didn't have lights. However....these lights S#ck. They are bluish hue, very dim, and powered by aaa batteries. Total BS. How hard would it have been for them to wire 120v bulbs into the machine so they came on when you turn the machine on? My WEN drill press has that feature and the light is very bright and just click it on. The batteries on these lights will lose voltage, the lights won't work, I'll open the covers to find that the batteries exploded inside and destroyed them. This..... I know, will happen. WEN needs to step up a little bit. I really, really want to like buying more of their tools.

Good For Average Use...
Out of the box it runs smooth on its rubber base pads. Remove the spongy rubber base pads, bolt it to a heavy wooden work bench, install a recommended Wen wire wheel and it will vibrate the roof off. Requires lots of time consuming trial and error balancing and wheel dressing to smooth it out. The lights are battery operated with included batteries. The tool rests are adequate, etc. The motor is sealed with no vents for cooling so IMO run time should be limited. The two bolts holding the base to the motor should be checked for tightness, etc. Nonetheless for the money, size and amps overall it's not a bad deal.
