Sexy AF for snow pants
I’ve been trying to find the perfect pair of snowboarding pants for about a decade. A former devotee of Holden, I loved their slim styles in appearance, but they always gapped at the waist and/or ran too short in length in my size. I also found them too restrictive if sized correctly so I one point, I quit caring about the aesthetics and said, “The heck with it... I’m gonna wear big, warm, poofy powder pants.” As it turns out, I hate those too. I hate that people can hear me coming a mile away in powder pants that crinkle with “that sound.” You probably know it. The “shuck shuck shuck” with every step of nylon taffeta rubbing on nylon taffeta. Ugh. I hate the feeling of bulk in them while walking and boarding. And I last of all, I hate looking like the Michelin Man. When my poofy pants failed to keep me dry in a nuking snowstorm last week, I decided to abandon ship and try something new. I was a little apprehensive to order Volcom brand, thinking they might be geared more for tweens and juniors than actual women, but I love these pants! They fit me in length in my own size. Amazing! The fabric is quiet. (So stealth) They stretch enough to feel unrestricted. The cut is perfect in the length of rise, coming just under the belly button in the front, a bit higher in back to keep out the snow. I have to wear them with a belt as I have a small waist for my other proportions, but I’m used to that and they don’t gap as much as most pants. There is plenty room for a thermal base layer. For reference, I’m 5’9”, 135# and wear a size 6 or 8. I ordered a medium. For now, they’re wind proof and water proof. I only hope they hold up for at least a couple seasons, and that they continue to make this style. Oh, since these are not insulated, you’ll need good base layers in cold climates. The lining in these pants is a smooth mesh (like a basketball jersey) that slips over tights easily.

Trying to embrace the totally dropped waist style..
Maybe I am too much of a millennial hipster, but I've gotten used to higher waist and normal waist pants almost exclusively, so when these showed up and the waist was HUGE on me, I was a little off put. But, I know that the whole "look" of snowboarding is a little more on the baggy, lower sitting pant side, and I guess maybe I'm the irregular one here? I can nearly pull them all the way off though and need to wear a tight belt (read: not particularly comfortable) just to feel ok about them not falling down should I have a pretty epic wipe out. That said, I am going to see about having them tailored, is that a thing people do? With snowboard pants I mean, seems a little odd, but since I like them otherwise I do feel compelled to explore that as an option to get these to function a bit better for me. Based on other reviews I wouldn't want to go much smaller since the legs are fitted really well and the length is great on me, it is just the waist that is monster-sized. Otherwise pretty sexy pants and happy with this purchase! For reference, I am 5'4"/125lb/athletic build; bought: XXS.

Light and comfortable
Lightweight and comfortable! I thought they would have more stretch but they did end up feeling more comfortable as I wore them. Fit as expected I am normally an XS.

Flattering, good fit, warm
Love these! Fit awesome, a tad tight in thighs but that’s with all my pants. I fit in a 1-3 depending on size am 5’3” and weigh about 120 and small was perfect. Fit my waist but could have been a little more snug. They kept me warm with base later under however when it was below zero I would have preferred a little thicker snow pant. But these are awesome don’t make the terrible swishing noise when you walk, lightweight, comfy and you can move easily.

Run small and short. Not for anyone over size 12 or 5’10”
Too small. Had to return. I’m a size 14 (180lbs/6’ tall) and the xl didn’t even come close to fitting. Couldn’t even button them. They were also too short. Seems like the only brand that fits larger women (height and size) is burton, their xl has a little extra room. Cute pants though. Can’t comment on anything else since I couldn’t even get them on properly.

Awkward fit
To the eye they look nice, length is great. However, on the waist they fit super big.. I’m normally a size 5 and although these fit on the thigh area, the waist area fits as if it were a 7 or an 8, so when I wore them I needed a belt. Not a great fit at all.

They are to tight at the base to go over your boots
I thought they were snowboarding pants and were way to tight at the base of my legs to go over my boots otherwise fit good

Be 100% Sure
Make sure you really want these pants. In my opinion they are super lightweight and wouldn’t really protect you against the cold. The waist was too big on me and I ordered a medium. Back to my first point. You should really be 100 percent positive you want these before you order. I returned the 25th of January and I was just informed it is going to take another 7 days to process my return. That is a total of 14 days wait time for my money to be returned. Absolutely ridiculous. My advice is try them on somewhere before you order.

It’s a Volcom; What’s Not To Like?
Quality, good looking, cold weather approved (bought this to wear on snowy days to keep me warm while shopping, etc.). The green and black leopard pattern is unique; looks tres chic with a black turtleneck sweater, and black platform doc Martins. Am an XS but need to wear a belt. It’s a Volcom; what’s not to like?
