1st Image - Ninja for 2.5 minutes 2nd Image - threw that into the Vitamix One for 30 seconds more. TLDR; Good for frozen fruit, ideally submerge with liquid, might have to scrape for a bit. Better than Ninja in 90 seconds. In a nutshell, I wanted to replace the Nutri Ninja Duo that we have. We use the cups (24oz and 32oz) with the detachable blade. We found that for frozen fruit, the Ninja was practically useless at times from the cups, and we'd be left with a Slushie rather than a thick smoothie. The slushie texture might be ok for some, but it depends on the fruit. I find that this blends frozen fruit quite decently. I was able to put 7 frozen strawberries and 1 cup of almond milk, with some protein powder, and blend it for about 90 seconds. In between, I did have to pause it and push down the sides once, because it is rock solid. However, the result after 90 seconds is a thick, slightly creamy, liquified smoothie. In the Nutri Ninja, I ran the machine for 2 and a half minutes, and I was basically stuck with a slushie. Pieces of strawberry, plenty of seeds, and an overall uneven mix. I even gave the Ninja an advantage by using smaller strawberries, and doing the test 8 minutes later, so the strawberries were starting to thaw. When people test these blenders, I wonder if they're doing a fair direct comparison vs. the other blender or not. I personally have never done straight up ice with a blender before, just never really had the desire for it, except to make those protein fluff ice cream things people try. I haven't made frozen desserts with this, though I expect you may need something that will cream up like frozen banana. This things tends to liquify so far, which is fine. Blackberry Seeds - good enough but not super smooth. There are definitely some seed bits for people who get them stuck in their tonsils. Strawberry Seeds - liquified, even when frozen. I think this would be good for a family member who gets food stuck in their tonsils. Flax Seeds - mostly liquified, but I used partly ground flax already. I threw a whole tablespoon of the stuff in there, pretty decent. The problem with flax seed is that the oils release and the seeds will stick to any blender I figure. I'll have to test with frozen bananas for whipped desserts to see how that goes. Even my Cuisinart Food Processor though had me leave the banana slices to defrost for 10 minutes before putting them into the blender, so honestly given that these were right out of the freezer, I'm pretty impressed. I haven't had the machine overheat and shut off for me, and I've heard the horror stories, so I'm cautious with it right now.
