Great family beach/pool bag

I got this bag to use as a beach and pool bag. We have a "standard" size mesh beach bag but you can't hold all the towels for the family. This thing will hold it all and then some. I didn't notice in title it said "car tote" when I originally got it but it would work great for that too. The bag is very functional for carrying a lot of stuff around. At first I assumed the material would be like my wife's other Vera Bradley bags and just be soft quilting. This bag is actually like a rubber or vinyl coated fabric so the inside is waterproof and very durable. The shape is rectangular but the only part that gives it rigid shape is a wire hoop sewn into the top edge. This is nice because it makes the bag easy to load but allows it to hold a lot of stuff. There is one side pocket on one inside end for holding smaller stuff. The stitching and construction look very good so hopefully this bag will stand up to use. Since there is no lid it can easily get sand in it, but at the beach what doesn't end up sandy? At least with the material this is made of I can put it on the sand or a wet pool deck without worrying about stuff underneath getting in. I have been looking for something similar since I saw someone at the local water park with a bag of this shape and realized the utility. I personally don't buy things for the name or a recognizable pattern but my wife of course loves Vera Bradley bags and patterns so this is added to our collection. I will say it is made well and thought was put into the design, even for such a simple bag.

Lovin’ This Tote!

I’m loving my new tote! This bag is absolutely cavernous. It has no closure, just one big boxy tote. I have no idea why the description says it has shoulder straps since the handles aren’t long enough to carry the bag when loaded with items, but the handles clip together with a snap, making it easy to carry it by hand. Additionally it has carry straps on each end for those occasions when its filled with heavier items. When reading the description, I had concerns that it would feel like plastic. After all, the description states its made from recycled plastic bottles and can be wiped with a damp sponge or cloth to clean. While that’s admirable, I was reluctant to order what might feel like a cheap plastic tote for $75. I’m very happy to say the exterior is a woven fabric which may be made with plastic thread, but it doesn’t feel like it. The pattern is beautiful, colorful and refreshing. There is one inner pocket on one end, no exterior pockets. The inner lining is a royal blue fabric. One detail that’s not described in the listing is that this bag has a rectangle-shaped metal rod through the upper edge, completely around the bag. This enables it to remain open when using it. There is no frame in the bottom, so the whole bag easily collapses flat for easy storage. My biggest concern with this bag? I already have too many uses for it! Should I use it to carry groceries from car into my home? Or stick to my original plan to use it to carry materials to my monthly genealogy meeting? Now that I see how lovely it is, I think I’ll use it to store all my skeins of yarn and other craft supplies until I figure out its ultimate use. This will turn my messy craft items into a very pretty display. Initially I had thought the $75 price tag quite high. But honestly, this is Vera Bradley so will be higher than some off-brand. But also knowing its Vera Bradley, you can be assured of a beautiful design and a quality product. There is only one verdict for this bag… Five Stars!! I hope you found this review to be helpful. Large Car Tote

This big Tote bag for the car. The material inside it is waterproof. The top edge I think has a wire in it, but the bottom doesn't have it, and it doesn't have support. It can stand up very well when loading things, and when there is nothing inside it, it is folded and cannot stand up.

Great size, inner pocket, strong straps

I’ve been purchasing Vera Bradley products for 25 years. I will usually pay extra for the design and great quality and while this car tote is nicely made it’s not really not worth $75. It doesn’t stand on its own, collapses if not filled. It does have a metal frame around the opening but no structured base at the bottom or sides. The inside material has a tacky almost rubbery feel. Really it feels almost sticky, not sure if I like this or not. The outside is a very durable nylon. Has great strong top straps and side handle straps. And I like the inside slip pocket. Great if you want a tote that folds completely flat with no effort.

Perfect!

Ordered this because we always need new ways to carry stuff at the beach, picnics, camping, etc. This thing is really big! You can definitely carry a lot of stuff in this. Really cute design and the quality is excellent. Very durable and sturdy. You will not regret this purchase at all.

Collapsible Tote

The media could not be loaded. This is a good quality tote. There is a rim around the top to keep it open, but the sides flop down so I am concerned that items will escape and continue rolling around my trunk. I'd give it 5 stars if I could get it to stay propped up, but I do recognize the merit in being able to collapse it down for storage. You'll definitely be paying extra for the name brand.
