Cute bag; a bit larger than expected
I really like this bag. Have been a fan of Vera Bradley products for a while...I think the patterns and designs are really cheerful and bright. This purple plaid bag is no exception. Aside from the looks, I like the size and layout of this bag a lot. The bag is actually slightly larger than I was expecting; not quite as big as a full-size backpack, more like 1/2 or 1/3 of the size. While the main compartment is quite spacious and useful, the pockets are too small to put much in. Love that this bag is washable and easy to care for. All in all, pretty pleased with this and will continue to use!

Versatile, well-designed bag; sturdy fabric (plaid exterior/floral interior) + lots of pockets...
This is a great little backpack and the plaid pattern and soft colors are pretty and look perfect for spring. I have several types of bags from this brand and I really like the quality and attention to detail in the construction. The color palette includes navy blue, with shades of pink, peach, light blue and yellow so this would be cute for a young girl to use but as a grandmother, I wouldn't feel out of place carrying it, either. The product description states that this is a mini totepack/backpack, apparently because it has handles so it can be carried as a small tote or worn on one or both shoulders. I like the versatility. It is indeed small, but not teeny-tiny. I would say it has roughly the same capacity as many of my handbags. I can easily fit everything I need for a day trip (now that I don't have small children that I need to pack for, anyway). Just to give an idea of what it can hold, I packed it for an afternoon at the dog park: my full-sized wallet, glasses and sunglasses (each in a hard case), a small cosmetic bag, a pack of puppy wipes and a small pack of dog snacks + a book. The bag is very well constructed. The exterior is made of high quality cotton fabric that is lightly padded expertly quilted in a small diamond pattern. The zippered pocket on the front is generously sized and expands on one side to make it easy to access the contents -- it is perfect for my small phone and keys. The carrying straps are securely stitched to the bag; they are lightly padded and comfortable to hold and there is a snap to hold them together if desired. The shoulder straps are similarly well anchored and are also lightly padded. I actually do think they could do with a bit more padding. They are made of the cotton fabric + a sturdy cotton webbing in navy blue with a plastic slider buckle for adjusting the length. There is a small zippered pocket with vertical access on the back of the bag. The two-way zipper for the main compartment wraps almost all the way around three sides of the bag, making it easy to pack, unpack or clean. The zipper is a top-quality YKK brand and both zipper heads have a fabric pull tab (so do the zippers for the pockets). The main compartment is roomy and the back is thickly padded for comfort. There is a medium-sized zippered pocket inside + two slip pockets (one is tall and narrow, so it would great for pens or pencils and such but one can't really reach down into it; the other is wider, and one can reach into it so it is nice for a small notepad or perhaps a phone. The fabric lining the interior is a charming floral print in navy blue, purple and shades of green + a little yellow. The bag is light-weight but sturdy and I think it will hold up well. It looks great and I'm sure I will use it a lot this spring and summer. I like that this bag is so easy to care for -- a little bit of dirt won't show and I can just put it in the washer when needed and + hang it up to dry. The current price of $80.00 is a bit hard to take but my other Vera Bradley bags gotten a lot of use over the years and still look new.

Cute little backpack
This is a pretty little backpack, and I love that it's washable. The pockets aren't great for fitting things like my phone, but it's more of a purse-type backpack to me (I like to wear it when shopping because I can skip a bag most of the time) than something I would use for carrying things to work/school. The color is pretty, as well, and I've machine washed it on cold/delicate already and it came out great. It's a cute accessory, if not the most practical backpack I have.

Sits weird on the back.
This VB backpack is adorable. I love the plaid and floral design. The colors are very pretty as well. However, the way this backpack sits on my back is just weird. It rides up no matter what length I adjust the straps to. Also, the straps as a whole are very long, but the padded plaid portion of them isn’t. I own quite a few VB bags and out of all of them…this one is my least favorite. There is just something off about the way it sits on the body. Maybe it would be better on a child.

Cute, small back pack.
The fabric is a pretty spring print. The compartments are good size. The snap that connects the handles is a little difficult to snap. The backpack is pricey and mini is a good description.

Springtime fun. Pleats on the compartments are a terrific add in mini backpack design.
Mini backpacks are my current obsession and if they have a fun print, a fun theme all the better. They are convenient, keep my hands free, and with the fun peppy designs I always start the day with a smile. This Vera Bradley Mini Backpack - Amethyst Plaid has that fun. The positives start with the springtime-fresh violet and blue plaid print (a flower print is on the inside). There are 2 small loop handles (that can snap) which offer a handbag carry. A zip slot on the back is ideal for my phone or sunglasses. The two main zip compartments open wide - with side pleats - so I don’t scratch my hands on the zippers going in (sometimes a problem with mini backpacks). For the main compartment the pleats let me see everything inside (another common problem with mini backpacks). I can take inventory and everything stays safely contained, plenty of room for essentials. For notes, there’s cloth construction inside and out so the backpack is vulnerable to dirt - however it’s washable. I wish the back phone pouch was a bit wider. The pads on the straps could be longer - the hardware hits my arms. The bag’s bottom is flexible, doesn’t keep a flat base. All are very minor notes. This backpack is fun.

Vera Bradley Cotton Mini Totepack Backpack
This Vera Bradley Women's Cotton Mini Totepack Backpack is so cute! I've always loved Vera Bradley, and I look forward to seeing the new patterns and the new styles each year. I love the amethyst plaid pattern on this bag! It reminds me of spring and summer. This mini backpack is actually bigger than I was expecting it to be. I'm actually happy about that because I can fit more things into it. It has plenty of room for me to fit everything that I need into it. It's also comfortable to wear! I just love it!
