Great fan, not so great instructions

The fan after installation works great. Fan is quiet and really moves a LOT of air. The remote module installation was difficult. The manual doesn’t include the remote module on the parts list and it’s not shown in any of the steps. You have to read the wiring schematic to see how the remote module is wired and installed.

Balanced right out of the box

Seems to be good fan balanced right out of the box just got it today and put it up. So far I’m happy. Also the fan arms fit into a slot that holds the blade while you install the two screws. I haven’t ran into that nice feature till this Honeywell fan

Works but would not buy again

The remote Control works and is so nice 90% of the time. But some times no matter what you cant get the light to turn on or off and the remote is worthless. If the light is stuck on you can just use the light switch on your wall, but if it is stuck off you cant get your fan or light on for a few minutes until the remote decides to work again. All would be fixed if the fan had a pull chain as well as the remote. Other than the remote I wish the fan had a brightness setting for the light, and the fan doesn't move a tone of air. All in all I would return it and buy a nicer fan but I don't want to uninstall and put in a new one, spend a bit more and buy a nicer one the first time.

There's an air movement trick . . .

This is a great looking fan, and it runs without any wobble . . . no balancing necessary. The blades are a dark (walnut) brown, and a black w/ gray wood grain on the reverse side. I installed this as a flush mount (which probably helps with wobble) in our bedroom, without the included short down rod. This puts the fan blades' upper edges right at 4 inches from the ceiling. The ceiling is 96 inches (8 ft) and the light globe is at 86.5 inches (9.5 inches down) which is over 7 feet from the floor. The lower edge of the blades are at 91 inches. Plenty of head room. One problem with the close / flush mount is the small area above the blades restricts air movement. As the fan spins, air is forced outward as well as down. The outward flow "blocks" the movement of air to the top of the fan and reduces the efficiency pretty drastically. There are two solutions to this problem, one which I've tested. The trick is to simply reverse the fan direction. The outward movement of air is still there, but now it assists the upward moving air to blow out and around the room. I would say the air movement on the Low Speed is just as good with the fan blowing upward as it is on High Speed with the fan blowing down. Feels great laying on the bed in our 12 x 15 foot room. (Just as a note, the reverse thing in the winter is really only effective if you have a big room with high ceilings. You run a fan on a very low speed to bring the warm air down along the outer walls from above, but hopefully without noticeable air movement. With this fan In a smaller room, you'll feel the air flow which has a chilling affect.) The other possible solution is to mount the fan with the down rod. This will lower the fan about 4 inches ( a guess, with the include 4" rod) from the ceiling - which would be OK in most situations for an 8 foot ceiling - and give more room for air flow. If you try this, please leave a comment! There is a bit of motor hum, but its only annoyingly noticeable on the high speed; and since the air movement noise is greater than the buzz, it mostly gets drowned out. Not a deal breaker for me. I wired mine so that the existing light switch (which used to only operate wall outlets) turns on/off the light, but the fan is directly powered and is operated solely by the remote. My light switch is NOT a dimmer switch, so I get full light intensity with the switch, which means if you have the light on - via the remote - at a dimmed setting, the wall switch will allow you to switch between full on and the dimmed setting. You'll need the remote to turn the light off if you use it to turn the light on. I've included a wiring diagram if you want to wire yours this way. (BTW, you can just run the hot wire through the switch and directly to the red wire for the Controller. Then when you turn on the switch the fan & light will be in the state they were when you turned them off. Not quite as versatile but OK.)

Difficult instructions. Silent fan. Comments on frequent complaints.

First of all, the instructions are very verbal without clear labels on the product or in the instructions about which product is what. I was pretty surprised I couldn't find a good youtube video with step by step instructions about putting the fan together, so that made it harder - I'm a very visual person. I'm certainly no newbie to installing things and putting them together - I charge my friends a six pack of beer to put their electronics or furniture together for them. When we first turned the fan on there was some pretty loud thumping coming from inside the fan. We figured out that it was a loose wire that was sticking up too high and was getting tapped by the fan fixtures when the fan was spinning. We taped the wire down and that fixed the problem. The motor is whisper silent and we really do love it now that it's done and put together. It's large, and while the visible light source through the dome-light cover was unappealing at first, we don't really mind it now. The remote is not very intuitive. The power switch only seems to work for the light, and not the fan, so if you want to turn the fan off and don't know what speed it's on, you have to guess which fan-speed will turn it off. There are some other interesting features on the remote, like the Home Shield, but otherwise it feels like it's a little too busy. I've read a lot of complaints about not being able to sync the fan and light with more than one light switch - I'm not bothering with the light switch, we just put up the wall bracket with some double-sided tape next to the light switch and it looks nice. I think we'd be able to feel like we have two switches if it was possible to buy a 2nd remote that we could mount on the other side of the room. The wind is better than expected. At first we thought we weren't getting any wind and then we toggled with interior switch to the other side. Overall, it looks nice, makes almost no noise, cools the room, and doesn't hang too low. Everything we asked for, even if getting there wasn't as easy as some other ceiling fans I've installed before.

Great Fans

The remotes are a little annoying because they only fit in a single junction box, not a double. If you only buy one that won’t be an issue but I have a great room with two fans.

Recommended.

Nice design fits well into room Décor. Two tone blades allow to select two options for colour. Remote works well and is a nice added feature. Frosted glass bowl light cover is white but still allows for a lot of light to shine through. Very quiet on two lower speeds with only fan blade cutting wind noise on highest speed. Only negative comment that I have is that the direction switch is located under the glass bowl light cover and requires you to remove the glass bowl twice a year to change fan direction (summer winter). I find it very inconvenient, too bad they didn't incorporate this into one of the remote's functions. Overall very satisfied with product.

Good quality, affordable fan

I really like the look of it, clean design, discreet yet powerful with long blades. Install wasn't bad at all but this wasn't my first ceiling fan and I have background in this type of work so it took me a little over 45 minutes start to finish. I installed it over the staircase so I wasn't too concerned about the noise levels but I can say that this fan is very quiet compared to other ones that I've installed in the past. It's been about two months with it and I'm very happy with the purchase.

Very quiet, remote is very handy, well balanced right out of the box
