Works as hoped

I ordered the 16-inch. Order your true size on this, it needs to be a little tight or it won't stay up properly as it doesn't have a strongly elasticized waist. Bought it to stop a skirt from riding up under tights, and worked well for that purpose. I'd buy it again (and probably will to have more than one length).

The spandex makes me itchy

Not too happy with the waist band. I must be allergic to it as it leaves red patches. I have washed it often enough and still doesn't feel right.

A fabulous well-made top-notch Half Slip

I bought "Vanity Fair Women's Half Slips for Under Dresses Silky Stretch with Lace (S-2XL)" This is a perfect well-made top-notch Half Slip I wanted a slip with lace at the bottom hem, that didn't look cheap, and would not tear easily. This slip fit the bill. I am 5'3" tall Bought Fit Type = Lace Hem (11741) Size Large Color= Lace Hem - 18" Length - Neutral and comes Two inches above my knee. A great choice in a half-slip, this slip is silky and stretchy top-to-bottom including the lace hem! I was delightfully surprised that the lace bottom is silky to the touch and is sturdy, wont tear, an extremely well-made slip. Note that this slip is not a flowy slip. .. Now would like to find one just like this in White. .. and a White flowy lace at the bottom hem half-slip about 3inches longer as well.

Very nice, comfy slip - love the waistband!

I purchased the 24" length version to wear with skirts that hit just below the knee to a few inches longer (approx. 28-30" skirts). I'm 5'9" with a 28" waist and 36" hips, and size small fit the bill for me. When pulled up to my natural waist it hits about a third of the way down my kneecap, though I'll probably use it more often with lower-rise skirts. This is a very comfortable slip, I forget I'm wearing it. As others have noted the waistband is very nice - wish there were more like it, it doesn't pouch out like slips with thinner elastic sometimes do. This is not a stricty fitted slip, it's very slightly flowy made of very soft fabric(check out the youtube video of the shorter version), but could probably work under a pencil skirt made of somewhat structured fabric.It might not work for a super-clingy dress or skirt. I have not tried it with pantyhose yet, so can't report on the static cling factor. If it helps, I generally wear a size 4 skirt at Banana or J Crew, and vacillated between getting the medium or small, due to reviewers who felt that it ran small. As it turns out, the small is plenty roomy for me - the medium would have been too large. I will probably order another one in black and also check out the shorter length to replace another with an annoying waistband. I definitely recommend giving this one a try, especially given the no-hassle return policy. 5/4/15 Addendum: I did order the black, and have been pleased with both. I hand-wash and air dry my undergarments, and these are holding up well. HOWEVER, when I ordered them they were offered in different lengths, and it was very clear in the selection process whether you were ordering the shorter or longer version. This no longer seems to be the case, and may explain why other reviewers had problems with the length. So be careful, because it's not clear now which length you will get, but if you have Prime, it's a free return if it's not right.

Lace waist line has no strength

I was not impressed with this slip. I'm sure it'll work for someone, but it sure didn't work for me. I'm pretty thin, I'm 5'3" and weigh around 97-98 lbs. This thing just wanted to slide down the whole time I had it on. Fortunately I found something else that worked perfectly, because I needed it for my wedding day. The lacey waist line has no strength to it at all. I'm sure it's made that way to prevent lines under your clothing, but it wouldn't stay up long enough for me to put the dress on over top. I'm probably just too small for it. It kinda sucks that it's so hard to find clothing to fit smaller people. It's a real struggle. I'm just thankful I was able to return it!

The material is light but not see through which is great.

I like to wear them under skirts which don't have coverage, they provide full coverage and are made of light material which is perfect.

Much darker than on the photo

These half slips are okay. Personally I think the price is too high after I received them and saw the actual products. The colour is much darker than photo, more close to "cafe au lait" instead of a light peach/pink tone of neutral.

Beautiful Half slip!

This Vanity Fair Women's Lace half slip is a beauty and fits perfectly. I bought the shorter version so it is ideal for short skirts. As a male, I really love how the slip fits my body shape. The material is very soft and comfortable. I would definitely recommend this garment for women or men who enjoy wearing a half slip underneath their outerwear!
