Phenomenal boot ????
Purchased this boot for my sweetheart whom recently fell off his electric skateboard going 15mph. He experienced the most complicated break in his ankle.. Surgeon said one of the worst fractures he has done surgury on. Three metal plates and about 8 or 9 screws holding his ankle together! This boot came HIGHLY RECOMMENDED by the Surgeon and his practice and we can understand why now! (By the way, read the instructions that come with the boot and follow them--do not follow the details in the description online--those are wrong.) The boot is incredibly well made. The tall height of the boot is extremely supportive and the Large size was perfect for his size 12 foot giving enough wiggle room above & around his toes. This boot has two small side liners that are removable and can add extra comfort where you may need it most. Those have been extra helpful in our case as they allow to put more support in more fragile areas. The pump completes the fit exactly where your foot is supposed to be once your straps are secured. Purchasing this boot is a no-brainer! The overall experience has made a huge impact on my love's ability to move around with his crutches more freely (when necessary and not resting ir elevating) knowing his ankle is safe and supported in his boot. It's really a phenomenal addition to his recovery so far and we have a long way to still go. Good luck you guys ????.

Follow instructions that come with boot
United Ortho Air Boot Instructions how to apply the boot the first time differ on the Amazon product advertisement from the instructions that are enclosed with the boot. I followed the directions that are listed under the product but that didn’t work well with the boot that has air. Otherwise, the boot seems to be good enough quality, and seems to give my ankle the support it needs while it heals. I have another boot that I was given at the hospital when I first fractured my ankle. It’s bigger and heavier. There are some things I like better about my first boot and other things that I like better about the boot I’m reviewing. I bought this United Ortho boot in a small. I wear a women’s size 8 M shoe so I’m right on the cut off between the small and the medium boot. The small fits but I think if you have a wide foot, it might not as it fits tight side to side, especially at the ankle. The product cannot be returned so you hope to guess the correct size when ordering. The blue button air mechanism digs into my leg and is quite uncomfortable. I wish I had bought it without air. As it is, I put one of the 3 pads that is supplied extra with the boot, under the air mechanism and I also don’t tighten the top strap as tight as I might otherwise. That helps. My other boot is pretty much flat on the bottom. This one has the rocker foot. It takes some getting used to as it makes me feel like I’m going to pitch forward. But I’m getting the hang of it. The upshot is, if I knew the blue button would dig into my leg, I wouldn’t have bought the boot. UPDATE: Based on this review, the seller offered a full refund without me asking. . Much appreciated as I ended up using my original boot and not this one. The original fits my foot better.

Love This
On February 15, 2023, I was wearing a dress shoe and stepped on a round thing that fell from a tree in my apartment parking lot, and my left ankle twisted left and yeow, that hurt. The doctor x-rayed it and showed my tendon tore off the tip of my fibula. My doctor recommended this boot and also sold it. I asked if I could save money by buying it on Amazon and he said yes, and gave me a link. It has the air pump to add air around the ankle which keeps it snug in one position. I had previously signed up for a church choir weekend at Beavers Bend State Park in Oklahoma, and hiked for 30 minutes along a rocky, sloped path, even over a creek, with this on, and my ankle never hurt, as it kept it locked in position. It is comfortable to walk in. They include three 3x5" pads that can be added, but I did not use those. The only very slight negative is that as shown in the attached photo, under the ball of my foot is a cross-piece, that I feel when I walk. I wish they would make this cross piece extend more toward the toes to make this line go away. I am very happy with this, and you will probably be, too.

Life saver! Sprain/chipped heel bone.
I'm 2 weeks into this boot. Doc was going to sell me one for a couple hundred (hadnt met deductible), but they were nice enough to tell me I could buy the boot on Amazon. Delivery was a little delayed, but omg this boot is fantastic. I had ordered a short one first (don't do that). Severe sprain and chipped heel/calcaneous. Super happy.

Easier to get around
I bought the other light gray one with the toe cover first. That's the only thing about it I liked though. This one works better for me because it's not as heavy and it has a strap at the top. The other one which is more expensive doesn't do I felt like I moved around in it too much. I ordered ski boot covers made of neoprene that fit nicely over the front of the boot to keep my toes warm in air conditioning also clean and dry outside. They worked much better that the booties the sell for them. They are only useful inside the house so you don't track in dirt. But they will fall apart quick if you use them outside. This boot inflated well also. And easily released pressure when I wanted it to while seated. Quicky inflated with a twist of the button and a few squeezes of the blue bulb. I wear a size 7.5 wide women's shoe and the small worked well for me. Make sure to sit your foot all the way back. It comes with extra cushions for the top of your foot at the bend.

The large fits perfectly for my women's size 11 extra extra wide foot!The qulity is excellent. The air pump snugs it up so your foot isn't moving about as it does in the one-size-fits-most boots. So much better than the boot my doctor issued me! One fourth the price, too!

Calidad-precio. Funcional 100%
Excelente calidad precio (Me costó $1280.40 MX. En tienda física, aunque de otra marca me la daban en $1700). Es cómoda cumple su función al 100%. No pesa tanto en comparación a una bota corta de otra marca que tuve y la suela es cómoda, no se siente rígida al caminar. Algo laborioso para colocarla pero ello garantiza 100% de inmovilización del tobillo. Llegó antes de lo previsto. Es talla grande sin embargo consideren la extragrande ya que calzo num. 7 (27 cm. en México) y apenas me quedo muy bien como observan en la imagen.

Helps with the pain
It is a lifesaver. I can move around the house and it seems to help a lot with the pain. Seems to be good quality, not cheap materials. 4 stars as it seems the inflatable portion stopped working after 2 days. Yes, I know about the knob and how to use it. I just use it without the air portion as it still works and I can’t really tell the difference. Maybe it never worked for me. I will have to wear it for the next few weeks as well. Torn tendon in the ankle.

Works for plantar fasciitis!
I have plantar fasciitis and this boot has really helped to take the weight off my arch. Literally my pain dissapered once I put this boot on (convererly the pain came back the minute I took it off). Would recommend for healing of chronic plantar fasciitis pain. I however note that this boot does not really help with turf toe or bunion pain (as I unfortunately have a string of trauma with one of my feet)

Great bang for your buck
This product has made me mobile again (currently suffering from a high-ankle sprain) and I'm very grateful for it. The reviews on here almost deterred me from purchasing, as they were mixed, but I've been using it for a week now and have experienced zero issues. The product fits my foot size as advertised (men's 11-11.5 US) and is comfortable. The air padding feature is a nice-to-have but didn't provide any noticeable additional comfort. Overall, I'm pleased that I did not listen to the negative reviews, because I got the same product that's sold in-stores and online for about 50-70% less. I normally don't post reviews but felt compelled to because this product deserves a higher rating, and people shouldn't been fooled into spending $75 to $175+ more on the same product.
