Great suit for more mature figures!

As a former competitive swimmer and current swim coach who is now a grandma, I needed a new suit to work out in. I had a horrendous accident a couple of years ago and have gained 25 lbs, so I wanted to start swimming again for both physical therapy and weight loss. Of course, the competitive suits that my young swimmers wear would look ridiculous on me at this point but I didn’t want to wear a fluffy recreational suit either. This suit turned out to be fabulous!!! Fits great, helps to support and camouflage, and is very comfortable. It has a shelf bra with shaping cups, holds my bulging tummy in check, and modestly covers my larger than normal derrière! I can’t wait for more colors to become available in my size - I will definitely buy another!

TYR - I was expecting more.

Hmm.. Well, after reading all of the reviews, I told myself this was going to be the most amazing bathing suit in the world. I am 5'8", 190#, and a 38DD - (38DDD) in VS bras. I usually wear gap jeans in a size 14, and have some slimmer styles in a 16. I have been on a bathing suit quest for weeks and have learned that bathing suits run small. ALL OF THEM, everywhere in the world. I ordered a size 16 and an 18 in this bathing suit. The 16 is an inch or two too short for me in the torso, my girls fit in there - but there is no underwire here (as I read in some other reviews) and the straps do not have the option of criss crossing in the back (which i read in some other reviews). Because I do have a long torso, the 16 in the back is lower on my back than I would like. The leg openings are fine, but the cut on the butt is not designed to cover it all up. So, I tried on the 18 and that was an all around better fit because it is longer! The cons are that the width of the crotch area on the 18 is considerably wider. So there is all this fabric bunched up down there... Why do companies do this? I have noticed this with larger underwear as well, what do they think is going to happen down there - the distance between our legs in the crotch does not expand!!! My bust fits completely in the 18, so there is very little cleavage and under the arms the rise is great - not cutting in or creating any bulges under the arm. So for now, the style is really great, modest yet fashionable, and is well made. If they made this in a LONG or TALL size, I would probably be much more satisfied. So order a size up or two for comfort and if you have a longer torso.

Simply the best for a full bust and figure

I originally purchased this suit in an 18 as I have a long torso and am a 38G. I'm 5'5" and weigh 218ish. I wear a size 14 jean (Old Navy & Target; size 2 at Chico's). As you can tell by my measurements, neither my bust,or tummy are tiny. This is part of the reason why I needed a suit for a longer torso. Bust: 45.3; Waist: 42.5; Hips: 46.5"; Upper thigh: 25.3" The 18 was roomy in the rear, which has never happened to me with any piece of clothing. My breasts fit in well, however, when I leaned forward and wiggled a little I nearly popped out. I ordered the 16 to compare. The 16 is still easy to pull on and the adjustable straps as mentioned in other reviews make ALL the difference in the world. This time when I bent over and wiggled, I was fully contained. My hubby said I looked a little smashed, but I'll take that over falling out. The upper portion of the leg openings are still a tad roomy, but it doesn't detract from the functionality of this suit. For sizing, I do suggest going to the TYR site (they have misses and plus sized charts, but you have to click on a plus sized suit to access the plus sized chart. Combine that info with what's in the reviews here. I waited to write a review on this suit until I'd tried it in the water. I lower myself into the pool using the two step ladders. There weren't any bubbles popping up between my breasts, nor did they bob up. The straps probably could have been adjusted what would seem a tad tighter than a "dry" comfort level to ensure that the straps don't budge for peace of mind. I did mild water aerobics, laps and water jogging (straight forward and lateral zig zags. The twist on the top of the suit makes it not seems like a mommy cover up suit with a funky dress that takes forever to dry. The suit was wet once I drove the 5 minutes home from the pool, but it wasn't sopping wet or dripping. The suit is very well made and the stitching is solid. It's also more comfortable to wear and adjust with a suit that has an under wire. I researched suits on the TYR site, another generic swim store online and on Amazon. I also tried on the Sonoma Square Neck suit in a local sports store in an 18. It seemed a tad roomy, but the lack of adjustable straps made it a no go. From what I can tell, this particular suit is not sold in stores, bummer that you can't try it on. Regardless, order it, you have nothing to lose, returns with Amazon are easy. If you're really unsure, order 2 sizes and compare with a full length mirror.

Best lap suit I’ve ever owned - and cute too!

This is the best casual lap suit that you can wear to the beach too! I love this suit for swimming laps but it also has a cute and vintage look bust/top so it looks like a “regular” swimsuit and not just a lap suit. It gives you a little lift and a little cleavage but I have swam miles and miles of laps in these suits. I have re-ordered this suit 6 times! It is great quality, double layered, but the chlorine and the intense Arizona sun will fade anything, no matter the quality. I have never bought another brand lap suit since I found this one.

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! I just went through a nightmare ordeal with an online purchase called Meet.Curve. Their products were ridiculous and I ended up losing $87 due to their return policy. I have had the same swim suit for 10 years and it is just too old and stretched out. I've been wearing an actual bra under it for years (due to it being old, not due to quality of the product.) I finally just checked out the brand, because it was honestly the best swimsuit I ever had and it is durafast. I ordered this swimsuit and it is perfect. I know it will last another decade. No bra needed. I am 5'9', 204 lbs, 40 DDD, vary from size 14-16 in jeans. I bought an 18 to be safe (for the boobs), and probably should've stuck with a 16, but this suit is PERFECT! I have just purchased the sportier version of this suit in a 16 and I'm not worried. Thank you!

Will last many years - even in chlorine!

This is the second time I’ve purchased this swimsuit. The first has lasted at least 7 years - polyester doesn’t degrade in chlorine like spandex does. Sadly though, the elastic is wearing out in the 7 year old one - so I have to get a new one. Also note: this suit is not super long in the body. I’m 5’7” and it just fits.
