WIsh there was a better, sturdier mounting option. Anything but this method would be better.
The one mounting option for this device is to use screws that are screwed partway in, into which you slide the device. There is no mounting template provided so you must make your own, and it has to be -exactly- correct or it won't work. You must figure out how deeply to place the screws (too shallow and it will fall off, too deep and it won't attach). There should be a better, more secure way to mount this, which can become quite heavy with a lot of things plugged in. I would be very happy to forego the graceful swooping curves molded into the case in favor of some actual screw hole brackets to mount it with. Then it would be properly secured. But oh no, a real bracket would ruin the look, I guess. The screw hole measurements are (center to center) 5 15/16" X 2 7/8". There's a 1" margin above and below the rectangle made by the four screw holes. The side with the power cord is 4" from the screw holes to the edge, and the other side is 1 5/8". Total dimensions are 11 1/2" long by 6" wide.

Good heavy duty surge protector, with one small issue
This thing has lots of outlets, all positioned for the use of 90° plugs. It also seems quite heavy duty, and made by a UPS manufacturer (I tend to trust surge protectors more if they're made by UPS manufacturers). If you need extra protection for sensitive equipment (or don't have many outlets in your room) then this will work nicely. Only problem: It's difficult to actually plug things into it! They go halfway in and the rest of the way takes quite a bit of extra force! I thought it was because the protector had the safety feature where you could shield unused plugs, and that it was a particularly sloppy implementation of it. But it doesn't! It's just designed that way. I guess it's good for holding plugs in and not being loose in that case, but compared to other surge protectors, plugging them in does take some effort! Overall, If you can find APC's 12 outlet surge protector then I'd recommend it over this. But if you can't, then this will suffice.

Coming up on 5 years since purchase, still going strong
I purchased this power strip almost 5 years ago and I have had 0 issues with it. What sold me on it to start with was the $150,000 insurance policy. I'm not sure how that would play out if I actually had that problem but to me that says this is a quality product that Tripp Lite stands by. What I like most about this power strip are the 4 outlets with expanded space to accommodate the plugs with oversized adapters. I like the outlet covers too so that dust or debris can't accumulate into unused outlets over time. The only con I have for this product is the unneeded phone jack ports but that's more of a pet peeve as I don't use them. If your looking for a solid power strip to protect your most precious electronics (for me, my computer) I highly recommend this Tripp Lite power strip. Price: $27.75 in 07/2017

I have already purchased four of the Outlet Surge Protector Power Strip to protect the electronics in my home. It does a wonderful job and has a guarantee in case you do lose your electronics due to a power surge or lighting strike. Amazon packers, please ship this product in a sealed box. My package came in a large shipping envelope which offers little to no protection in shipping. Trying to save 50 cents will cost the company down the road if any weight or abuse is placed on this thin envelope. The product is top in the line and I have full trust of the Outlet Surge Protector Power Strip due to past experience. I feel peace of mind when I have this power strip protecting my valuable electronics. Again, I highly recommend this product.

I have used a Tripp Lite Surge Suppressor power bar, an older, different model, for 30 years. Since these have a finite lifetime, decided to replace. The performance of a Surge Protector power bar is impossible for a consumer to evaluate at home. In deciding on the Tripp Lite TLP1208TEL, I was influenced by reviews by previous purchasers, and lab test reviews available on the web. Since the Surge Protection can become dysfunctional if there is a high surge in the powerline, it is important to know when the power bar is 'damaged'. This model has a Protection LED light. Although more expensive than other models, the extra features on this model makes this good buy.

Just OK
- The first one I got had a faulty outlet (could not plug anything in). - The sliding covers that cover the sockets are actually more annoying than useful. They're very stiff and hard to get out of the way, and often get stuck. I think there are better options out there.

Finally, a "power bar" with more than a lousy 6 or 8 outlets that is also AC adapter friendly!
So far, so good, this item is providing plenty of outlets for all my equipment with a couple to spare. My favorite feature is the protective sliding dust shields (for unused outlets) which not only cover the twin slots, but also the ground input. For whatever silly reason, many other items like this which have such sliding protectors only slide to close the twin slots, leaving the ground exposed to dust and debris. The wide-spaced outlets for those bulky AC adapters make this even better - no more obstructed neighboring outlets! I'm so pleased with this item, I may consider buying a couple more, either to use with other devices and equipment and/or to have as spares/backups. Good investment for people with a LOT of electronics, as I do.

Do not use with audio systems
Connected my dac to this surge protector thinking audio quality would be unaffected, but dynamics noticeably muted, all frequencies sounded wonky. With a belkin 12-outlet surge protector the audio quality was back to normal, AB'd multiple times to confirm. No idea what causes this difference but it's there, recommend the belkin for cheaper and seemingly better quality.

Put this purchase off far too long as previous Surge (another manufacturer) stopped working. Went back to Tripp-Lite as I still have a much older version which still works but lacks capacity for Dell XPS 8500, Netgear N600 Router, HP Laserjet Pro 400 Color M451dn, HP Scanjet G4050, Vonage, DSL Modem and External hard drive. The Tripp Lite Surge Protector TLP1208TEL satisfies all my requirements. Regards Peter Frank Lee
