My 3rd Travelpro. It is phenomenal.
This is my first large Travelpro, purchased to replace a hard-shell large suitcase which finally died because a handle broke making it a bear to lift. This suitcase is fantastic. My previous 2 Travelpro are both overhead carry-on types....a soft side 2-wheel and a hard shell 4-wheel which is very similar in design to this unit, just smaller. I have both those Travelpro's in rotation, use them often, and love them. Once I got the 4-wheel carryon, I have to admit it is pretty cool versus the 2 wheel drag-behind. I am a convert. Anyway, this large Travelpro is a great suitcase. We wanted large volume, hard side, easy maneuvering. Well, this thing has a huge amount of space and it is amusing how far it rolls with barely a push. I have traveled with multiple motorcycle helmets and jackets in it, no problem. My daughter and I used it for ski/snowboard gear (boots, helmets)....any big awkward stuff which didn't easily fit into our ski bag roller. Through poor planning (my fault) we ended up in Denver Airport for 6 hours before we could check bags. We ended up setting the ski bag (heavy with skis, snowboard, boots, etc.) on top of this case.....like the Travelpro was a luggage cart. It worked fantastic, rolling smoothly with the extra weight. It made the 6hr roaming the airport a little easier. Thank you Travelpro. We have had this large case on I think 8 RT flights so far, so 16 flights? It is holding up great and continues to roll well and it looks good, too. Very happy with the purchase, another Travelpro winner.

Would Love This More If the Handles Weren’t So Cheaply Designed
I LOVE everything about this Travel Pro Spinner except for the handles. I do not know what Travel Pro was thinking with these handles. For starters, the plastic material they are made of is cheap as cheap can be. Secondly, I am a small boned woman with small hands and I can just barely get my fingers under them. I do not know how anyone bigger than me could manage these handles. Everything else about this Spinner is the best. The wheel movement is smooth as glass, the overall size, at 22 X 14 X 9 is a rarity at actual regulation size for a carry-on, the inner pockets and 2 inch expansion come in handy for organizing, and the hard-shell is sturdy and solid. This Spinner deserves 5 stars but I gave it 4 stars. I am hoping Travel Pro will see the light and send replacement handles to all of us who love this Spinner but got stuck with such poorly designed handles. In my dreams, I know. But, it can’t ever hurt to wish upon a star to give another star.

Never going back to 2 wheels
Pretty good quality so far. I’ve been on 2 trips with it so far and it’s been great. First time having a 4 wheel suitcase that can roll standing, and I must say, I could never go back to the 2 wheel tilted types. Also for any tall people, I’m 6’3 and the handle is tall enough for me not to be hunching over. This thing, was a literal lifesaver. My back thanks you.

Holds a lot for a carry on
This great holds enough clothes for me for two weeks in Costa Rica on the beach.

Nice, but doesn't feel as good as the softside
I think this luggage is very nice, but I also have a platinum elite 21" softside, and noticed a few disadvantages that give it 4 stars instead of 5. I like it, a lot, but really wanted to love it... 1) the handle is thinner on the hardside. Feels less durable. Why they did this I don't know 2) the wheels do not auto align was well as the softside does (I think this is a quality control issue and maybe I just got unlucky - not a big deal). 3) THE SOFTSIDE HAS A LIFETIME WARRANTY BUT THE HARDSIDE IS 5 YEARS. I put this in caps because it seems very important to me. If as durable, there would be no difference.

Excellent with one disappointing flaw
Was a lifelong Samsonite owner and decided to try the Travel Pro Elite 20 in. shell with laptop slot. Overall very good. Used it on three plane trips and two conferences. The good: strong body, excellent four wheel maneuverability, expandable to another inch or so, fits perfectly in overhead bin and is compliant with FAA regs, so never a worry no matter which airline you use, or the mood of the staff at check in. Very good for a short trip, or a week long trip if you have easy access to laundry machines. If you add a Travel Pro duffel bag, it’s perfect. The bad: After seven months, I was sliding the zipper that controls expandability and the pull broke off the zipper assembly. That’s when I first noticed it was made of cheap fake leather. This is unacceptable for a high end offering of luggage. Samsonite always used sturdy metal pulls on their outside zippers. A zipper for expandability will always receive more pull and stress. Was Travel Pro trying to save 50 cents on a $430 item? I then noticed the interior compartment zippers also contain the fake leather pulls on their zippers. When packing, the compartments expand and these pulls will eventually break. I had to purchase replacement metal pulls with carabiner mechanisms. Totally unacceptable for Travel Pro’s top offering. Hence the deduction of two stars for durability. Other than that, a solid, good-looking piece of luggage. However, I’m seriously disappointed in the cheap zipper pulls. Shame on Travel Pro.

Good suitcase, but the description is for a slightly different product
Used it a few times now and it's really good. The description says "Platinum® Elite Business Plus Carry-on Expandable Hardside Spinner. Designed for ultimate convenience, this feature-rich hardside carry-on also offers exterior pockets for quick and easy access to your laptop and other necessities." - this product is not the "Business" version and doesn't have exterior pockets. Would be five stars but for that bit of dishonesty (intentional or otherwise).

Pricey, but worth it.
They look great, seem to be high quality and have lots of storage areas to separate stuff. My wife immediately had suitcase envy after having purchased new Samsonite ones just before me. Haven't used them yet though, so will need to see which ones tolerate the airline abuse the best.
