Durable and well made

after shopping around for a “personal item” under seat carryon bag all roads lead me to Travelpro brand. from the bags wheels to the telescoping handle everything is extremely well made and versatile. Most importantly it fits into the personal item bag sizer for frontier and spirit airlines as long as you don’t over pack it! in closing this bag is an exceptional candidate for a personal item carry on bag. Great for weekend trips.

Wonderful carry-on

I bought this to replace my trusty little Baggallini, which accompanied me on hundreds of business and personal trips before falling apart (and has now been replaced by a much larger version on the same style). It holds my 13” MacBook, an iPad, a kindle, jewelry, makeup, medications, all the stuff I don’t want to put in the suitcase, like hard drives, cameras, cords, and recorders, with room to spare at the top. It really fits under the seat in front, which my old bag never did, and rolls down aisles easily because it’s vertical. I don’t think it will hold books and it won’t hold files efficiently—for that I’d really need the pro version which is bigger and heavier. But it has a pocket for a water bottle or umbrella and something I thought I’d never use but have used a lot—charger pocket, so I can charge my phone without fishing around in my other bags for the charger. It also has a key fob, which I surprised myself by using. I wish it had one external pocket for travel tickets but that’s the only thing missing.

SUPERIOR HANDLE & OVERALL DESIGN

As an airline crew member, I have been using these bags for some 10-15 years. I am a TravelPro fan and continue to buy only the TravelPro brand. They can withstand harsh use but getting warranty work or parts for the products can be a challenge and sometimes impossible. That is the only negative aspect of the TravelPro brand. This VERSAPACK bag has one of the best handles ever from Travelpro. Fully adjustable with two-stops and reaching 59 inches. Quality grip and no matter how tall you may be, there is ample room so you don't find yourself walking the the bag kicking at your ankles. Another great plus is the plastic waterproof zippered storage area right at the top (when you open the bag) that will house your passport and airline tickets with quick easy access. The bag is small (as it should be) and designed to fit under the seat of most aircraft seats (not all). If this bag won't fit, it is small enough to store with ease in an overhead bin. Empty or full, the bag will not tip (as some do). It is capable of holding an ultrabook laptop (14 inches at best) as well as a tablet and quality headphones such as Bose QC35 (they are somewhat large) units. Plus a few other minor things before it is 100% full. One of the best releases by TravelPro in years.

Solid, compact roll-aboard

Overall very happy with this compact rolling carry-on. It's built like a tank, with good quality wheels and zippers, all the pouches and sleeves you need and room for a week's worth of clothes if you plan well. I took one star off because it is billed as an underseat bag but may not fit depending on what plane you're on and where you sit. On my first use I was in first class/aisle on an AA A320 and could not put it underseat due to the spacing of the seat legs. Later I was on a regional jet, also in first, and it fit fine. Go figure. I suspect this hit-or-miss is true of most bags sold as "underseat." In any case, this is a great piece of luggage that I expect to use for many years to come.

I hope it works the way I think it will!

I previously used the Samsonite small underseater. Although it fit under every seat (except one...commuter plane on the "A" side), it just didn't fit my laptop. In addition, there were lots of pockets, but most were not useful. This bag seems as if it will be perfect. It's not much larger than my previous bag, but it has a dedicated laptop pocket. The toiletries panel can be snapped out, so it doesn't need to be used if you've got a 3-1-1 bag. It rolls smoothly and has a trolley sleeve to place upon a larger bag. The real test will come when I travel for the first time. I hope it fits under the seat as promised.

Perfect

It fits under the seat, as long as the aircraft is set up for a normal size area under the seat. Some planes have boxes installed for power, so those take up most of the space & even a large handbag won't fit. American Airlines: A321 04/19 - Fits perfectly with extra room all around. Middle seat in the middle of the plane. A321S 05/16 - Hardly enough room for the bag & feet. Window seat in the middle of the plane. A321S 08/14 - Seated in Main Cabin Extra and not a chance of fitting the bag under the seat. Had to put in overhead bin. E175 03/21 - Great fit sitting by window and by aisle in the middle of the plane.

Durable and good quality

I bought this about 4 months ago and have used it on a few trips so far. I specifically bought it however for a trip overseas to India and i wanted to make sure that i got a carry-on that fit the carryon requirements and could fit undersea. This fit the bill perfectly. I was able to fit laptop, one change of clothing, misc toiletries and of course gadgets. I also specifically chose this one because I wanted the two wheeler since the wheels are more durable and are partially inside the case. It was great for walking and fits great slipped on top of my checked bag. My only suggestion is that the laptop sleeve i wish was more on the back side of the case rather than front side. Hard to explain but I think it would allow more room. Either way it is a good case - good for quick weekender also.

Good Quality - but heavy

This is a VERY good quality bag - and I can tell it will last years. I've used it for two short haul trips (<4 days) thus far and it will be 1 of my carry-ons for a longer trip coming up. While it does have what appears to be an adjustable handle - it will only lock at the full height and at a 2nd height about 2in shorter. I'm 5ft4in and as result find the handle long. A 15.6 laptop will fit but it is very snug and you need to be careful with the additional content you put in the bag - else it will not close. Alternatively - it is better suited to carry my 10.1 iPad with Keyboard - and then I can fill the main compartment a bit more effectively. It is tight fit - and does not accommodate the larger packing cubes - and I would recommend not using a packing cube at all when using this bag as space is a real premium. The Quality of the material used does come at a cost - and that is the overall weight of the bag. The measurements provided by the seller are arcuate - so take that into consideration when determining if this bag is for you. My shoulders are not what they used to be so finding something smaller than the typical 20/21in bags with a decent quality are few and far between. I.e. I need to be able to lift what I bring on my trips whether personal or for business :-) This bag is a reasonable compromise but an 18in if I could find it - would be better. For short haul trips - I use this bag and a backpack I can attach to the handle so it makes it easier for me to carry what I need (laptop, tablet, phone, chargers/cables, clothing & toiletries).

Travelpro is a pro travel product

It was an exciting day for me upon receiving the Travelpro underseat carryon (black). I can't count how many times I had looked at it on Amazon, plus compared other brands by reading up on those too. The moment of taking it out of its box....well packed for its shipment, plus it arrived a week and a half ahead of its original delivery scheduled date....it was immediately obvious that it was a quality product. The materials and workmanship spelled excellence at first sight. The high-grade ballistic nylon fabric looks and feels like it will serve for many years of travel. It's high grade quality retains its form without any weakness or softness. It didn't take me long to check out all the features, and one which I was quite pleased with was the toiletries bag, which, had been designed with suitable pockets on each side, making for ingenious compact storage. The main compartment is adequate for enough clothing and accessories for me to carry the necessities needed on short or longer trips. The side pockets, too, are convenient and practical, being most convenient to charge my phone on the go. The telescopic draw handle has numerous points of settings and although not all of them clicked-in right away, yet the length most appropriate for my usage was the one which worked immediately. I may have to fiddle a bit with its settings to see if the others will click-in yet too, but the fact that the right length to haul it is ideal for me is what counts, and I shall be glad with that for immediate usage. The wheels are large enough to traverse the various terrains it may be required to roll over, and it stands without any leaning or wobbly slouching. It is ironic though that now with the pandemic lock-downs still in effect that I won't be able to trial it out on a trip right away, but it is in fact already packed and ready for its first outing. I had selected the black colour which will compliment my set of Rimowa Limbo luggage. I have no hesitation in recommending the Travelpro….it is indeed, pro travel.

I would have preferred it to have a removable lap top pouch to allow for more room for other items if not taking my lap top on a trip
