Well made but X-small sizing is huge and bulky.

This is REALLY well made so I gave it 3 stars! Our dog is the recommended 8" long as the listing says for the XS. Unfortunately, like another customer posted, the x-small is way too big around the body and the chest band is also too big. The belly circumference is quite large even with the Velcro completely overlapping. I would say it could fit my daughter's sturdy little Havenese male and he usually wears medium size. The chest band is 2.25 inches long and bulky at about 2cm or a little over 3/4 inch thick when fastened so our little girl wouldn't be able to walk in it. I would suggest that for smaller dog sizes the chest band should be reduced to no more than 1 inch wide, using a single piece of Velcro fastening instead of 2 as is on the one I received and the belly band would need to be reduced by at least a couple inches as well. Way too bulky for an extra small dog like a Yorkie or small Maltese. Would need to be shorter too since the underside of the garment is 4" which is long enough that a female would probably urinate on it and a male absolutely would. Again his is very well made so it is very disappointing that the sizing is so off.ni will be returning it.

Amazing, but Runs a Little Large!

I absolutely LOVE this jacket, and so does my pup! It keeps him conpletely dry, it is easy to put on, and it stays on. I’ve had no trouble with the velcro coming undone and the fleece lining is great. Plus, it isn’t a huge hassle to remove the fleece inner part when I don’t need it. The only reason I gave it four stars instead of five is because it seems to run a little large. I have a chihuahua and bought an XSmall, but it is still a bit loose on him. I fixed it myself with some stick on velcro to size, though.

Excellent Dog Jacket

Our 45lb rescue mutt is a slender girl. We bought the XL for neck to tail coverage, but anticipated a loose fit due to her build. I picked up a stainless steel snap button kit on Ebay, and within an hour, we sized, and installed two snaps on the collar wrap, and two on the belly wrap. Now we can adjust the jacket for a perfect fit with the Velcro and snaps. The outer jacket is truly waterproof. (Same materials used in my Helly Hanson foul weather gear) Final bonus.....Amazon was half the price of Chewy !

Almost didn't buy - glad I did

I almost didn't purchase this jacket because the significant drop in price usually makes me wonder why they need to drop the price so much. It's yellow and maybe that is the reason because the other colors are do not have a price reduction. My pit bull is 75 lbs with 31" chest/girth, 21" in length, and 20" neck and the XL fits him perfectly. It's a very warm jacket and bonus that you can remove the outer layer (very easily) and just use the fleece part. Great product!

This coat is perfect for a variety of conditions

We live in Boston and the weather changes daily. The fleece is great on its own for a cold, fall day. The raincoat really works and not only keeps her back dry, but covers enough of her chest and belly to keep her from bringing in all kinds of mud. Easy to put on and remove. Love this coat.

Very good product

Am very happy with this wayerproof 2 in one dog jacket. Color is exactly as shown . Easy to put on my Amstaff, and as he is brindled with shades of lt. grey, charcoal, he blends in with the asphalt streets, and hard to see when it's dark. The color & refective aspects of the jacket makes my dog easier to see keeping him safer.

Well made but odd sizing

Three stars because it's a very good product well-designed and well-made. Stars deducted because of sizing. I don't know who it's made for - best for a very rotund dog. My dog usually needs a 10 inch long sweater I got the 8 inch XS and it is still huge around the middle and the neck on him. He's an 8 pound poodle mix. Even the X small will be too big for a dog with a neck of less than 12 inches circumference. Will be returning.

I love the two pieces can be used alone or together for more warmth. My dog wears the fleece like a sweater when it is just a little chilly. The fleece collar edge, rear edge and Top coat mid section have reflective edging that can be seen at night for safety. It is well made and easy to take on and off.

not waterproof weird sizing

Got a ridiculous deal on it ($15) NOT waterproof - ok for drizzle, will get soaked in a downpour Size: large- would probs fit a 45lbs dog Perfect length for 30lbs border collie but girths way too big so I had to move the velcro strips by 4 inches Our 70lbs malamute would probs need a 2XL Some reflective strips but probably not enough for nighttime walks Outside shell has waterrepellent layer lined with fleece, inner layer is a thin removable fleece coat Not sure if its machine washable In conclusion, pretty good for $15

Fantastic 3 in 1 jacket

The quality of products from Pet Life are always fantastic and true to size. Normally I buy her a size 24, but the size 20 was on sale at a ridiculously low price and I knew it would still fit, even if it didn't go the base of her tail. My dog has a greyhound shape without the bones sticking out - she is a 45lb Ibizan hound and this works because of the wide strip of Velcro on the belly and neck/chests area. As it is wide, it means you can loosen or tighten to get a more customized fit. This is a 3 in 1 coat as it comes with the outer shell which is waterproof and has nighttime reflective strips - in the photo, these are the areas of silver piping. It has a nice soft fleece lining and a slot near the neck to allow the leash to attach to the collar. Attached to this with studs and Velcro in pockets so that it won't scratch the dogs skin is a double layered charcoal coloured polar fleece jacket. The outside collar area on this has the yellow waterproof material. It has its own Velcro straps when separated and the tip of the collar and rim of the back half have the reflective piping. Naturally it has the slot for the leash too. The 3rd way to wear is with the fleece and outer shells attached using the durable studs and Velcro. My dog is not fond of trying on new clothes, but had no problem with this (she had just come back from a long/walk run, so was happy and tired and maybe just couldn't be bothered fighting it).

It's OK!

Too many stickers all over the coat about how hard they try to sell high quality products! I think if they could stop wasting those Ads ... the product itself could get to consumers much much cheaper! There's a "user guide" how to wash it .... only 15 words! Anyways ...! I have this little devil, a 13 months old Shih Tzu. Chose small size but I can tell how tight it is and how uncomfortable he walks! Either he's getting too fat around his belly or these sizes need to be reviewed by vendor! My advice? Be prepared to return it if it doesn't fit! It's not enough to just measure these poor little guys from neck to tail and call it a day!

Worth every penny!

Oh wow...just love this 'TouchDog Lightening-Shield Waterproof 2-In-1 coat'! We have been having LOTS of wet-snow/rain/ice-pellets and have to navigate through huge icy puddles during our daily walks. This coat really works to repel the elements, and my 25-pound poodle didn't seem to be complaining of the cold. Thanks to Amazon.ca's fast shipping, we got it within a few short days of ordering. (I intend to take a photo of my dog in this coat, with his best friend, the school crossing guard, who also wears a yellow jacket. They'll be twins!) The bright yellow makes me feel safer when walking between high snowbanks because it is highly visible. It's very easy to put on and take off; I am so glad I bought it.

Cute but not practical (at all)

I purchased this because I fell in love with the color (hence the 2 stars). It has been sitting the closet for quite some time now because it just doesn’t stay secure on my dog. I’d suggest the company to re-design the straps so that they stick better together. To be honest don’t recommend this, unless you have time and skills to fix up the straps yourself. Hope this wasn’t helpful to all the dog lovers out there! ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
