Lightweight (maybe 8 lbs). Sturdy (supports weight up to 250 lbs). Portable with padded backpack straps. And very comfortable. Tall back (25") and adjustable headrest provide head and neck support. Reinforced deep seat (19") provides thigh support. Armrests are sufficiently wide and long for comfort. Back adjusts to 4 different positions (upright to recline, but not to full flat position). Seat height is 11" (it still sits relatively low to the ground, but not as low as other backpack beach chairs). Zippered cooler pouch on the back is an added bonus. Overall, this is the best portable and comfortable beach chair for a tall person I've found so far, but it would be absolutely perfect (5 star) if it also had the features of TB's classic backpack beach chairs, such as a rubber handle on top (instead of just a cloth handle), a zippered storage pouch on the back (instead of just a velcro pouch which isn't as secure), a cup holder/cell phone pouch on the arm (instead of just a cup holder, though there is a separate cell phone pocket on the back), and a folding towel rack/support bar that enabled the back to fully recline to a flat position. I bought one of these chairs (along with other beach chairs) to test. I just bought another one of these chairs for my husband (this was his favorite chair too). On sale, I might consider buying 2 more as extras/backup (though TB chairs are known to be well constructed and last). With a Lightspeed Outdoors Quick Canopy Instant Pop Up Shade Tent over our heads and a cozy beach blanket under our feet, these chairs will complete the ideal setup for a wonderful day at the beach! FYI, my second favorite beach chair is the Rio Gear Ultimate Backpack Chair with Cooler which also is lightweight, portable, and comfortable. It has a tall back (24"), adjustable headrest, comfortable armrests, 10" seat height, a more secure zippered storage pouch on the back (instead of just a velcro pouch), a cup holder/cell phone pouch on the arm (instead of just a cup holder), a folding towel rack/support bar that enables the back to fully recline to a flat position (back adjusts from upright to recline in 5 different positions), and supports weight up to 240 lbs. Again, the zippered cooler pouch on the back is an added bonus. The seat isn't as deep (17"), and the lace-up suspension is a thick nylon twine rather than the preferred thick stretchy cord (found on zero gravity chairs). But what I really like is the ventilated mesh sling material of the chair, which quickly dries when wet. Rio chairs don't have the same reputation for lasting as long as TB chairs, but I think the Rio Gear Ultimate Backpack Chair will be great for the pool. TIP: Believe it or not, there are a lot of YouTube videos about how to close backpack beach chairs. Best/Easiest Way: Stand behind the chair. Place your foot on the back leg of the chair. Grab the handle on the top of the chair and quickly pull up ("pop") the back while keeping the back leg on the ground with your foot (you're "popping" or unlocking the chair this way). With the back leg still on the ground, slightly lean the chair back (using yourself to support it). Fold up the arms and secure the seat and headrest with the clip strap. Then bend over the chair and push the front leg down to meet the back leg. Voila! Finally, another beach chair worth mentioning is the Coleman Utopia Breeze Sling Chair. It's a simple compact sturdy little thing that folds up into a bag. It sits very low to the ground, but the design of the armrests makes it easy to push yourself up out of the seat. It has an open storage pouch on the back (not for travel, but to stash things off the ground while you're at the pool or beach, like reading material or a cell phone) and a cup holder. And it's surprisingly comfortable, though it would be better if it had a higher back for more neck and head support (at least for a tall person).
