Essential organizing tool for RV kitchen
Perfect for my RV. Holds my big mugs securely. I pre-drilled the hole with a drill bit with a diameter smaller than the diameter of the shank of this mug hook, to make sure the shank would "bite" well into the wood. I was then able to easily screw the hook into the hole by hand. My upper cabinet bottom is made of thin, maybe 1/4", plywood, and I was worried there would not be enough grab into the wood for the hook to hold well. It seems to be holding well, and does not wiggle. The width of the hook will not hold my artisan-crafted pottery coffee mug, whose handle is about 3/4" thick. ( I kind of expected that, so I don't fault the product.) But it holds my other, commercially-made coffee mugs, whose handles I would consider "standard" width. They are fatter than a teacup handle. Once the mug is clipped into this hook, there is NO escaping! I recommend pre-drilling, as I did.

Good for large mugs, provides peace of mind
We were using regular cup hooks to hang our mugs and it was too easy to knock one off and break it. These are nice and large for mug handles and the safety tab ensures we won't have any more tragic accidents! We don't take them down very often so I'm not too worried about the tab weakening or getting bent up too much. The tab is pretty stiff when new and some force was needed to push the handles into the hooks. I don't know if I'd like these for every day mugs we use: we keep those in the cabinet.

I don't know if it's the design of the hook ...
I don't know if it's the design of the hook or if I handled it improperly, ut the body of the hook sheered off from the screw piece when trying to anchor it in place.

It is a good product, but it does not go into wood ...
It is a good product, but it does not go into wood well enough to stick. The end is dull so I don't think it is made for holding in wood.

Works great. we did have one of the screws fall ...
Hug all our textile cups this way. Works great. we did have one of the screws fall off into the wall but i think it is because that wall is solid wood.
