works well for when you want your dog closer to you.
I also have a 6' one like this, but when I had to reel in my dog closer to me (avoiding people, bikes and obstacles) this shorter one worked perfectly. You'll have to adapt a little if your dog goes from side to side, but if he/she consistently keeps to one side (make sure to put on correctly for either side), this is a great leash. I still prefer harnesses, but for a check collar, it is som much easier than any other system, and it is softer on the neck of the dog.

Great in a pinch
I use this to take my (trained) dog from house to expen in the dark. It's a thick and round braid, so it's comfy on her neck and it slides easily. It also takes only a sec to put on a happy dog in dim light because it stays open in your hand and she knows to put her head through it..

LOVE This Leash!
I have purchased many slip leads, and my most recent before this one was a $40 one from another brand. That one was eaten by one of the dogs while left out one day, thus I was on the search for a cheaper option. I found the Terrain D.O.G. Rope Slip Lead and I purchased the 4ft one because the 6ft one I wanted was out of stock and I needed one quickly. This is a HIGH QUALITY slip lead, especially for the price! I use these mainly while bathing the dogs so their collars don't get wet and also to easily move them from Point A to Point B if I'm too lazy to put a regular collar on them. I highly recommend these slip leads and I will be purchasing a few of the 6ft leads when I can.

Awesome leash/collar option
I had previously purchased two of these at my local tack shop and love them... once we added more dogs to our pack I wanted all to match, luckily I found them! These are awesome! Very sturdy materials and well made. I have a St. Bernard mix, English bulldogs and Chinese crested. I can use any of my leashes for any of them. Easily adjusts for different sized pooches. Would/will be purchasing again.

Great quality
Love this slip lead! I'm a dog walker/sitter and use this all the time specially with dogs that are horrible on the leash. Helps train the pups how to not pull. Love the color and that's reflective and the length. I like to keep the dogs close to me and hate when I have too much of the leash just hanging. I do wish they had a thinner size for smaller dogs. Still get the job done though

Excellent
No complains right out of the box. It feels like silk. The leather sliding part is big enough to not ever slide through the ring, accidentally releasing dogs, like our Remington did after only a few dozen uses. It slides easy enough to not have to fumble when things have to go fast with a stray. I will get one for each car. Those leashes really come in handy for a hobby dog catcher like me;-)

there are many leashes that look similar to this one and I've purchased a lot of them. They have all been a cheap POS, this one is much thicker and great quality. it doesn't feel like it will be falling apart anytime soon. I highly recommend this product and plan on buying a couple more for sure! I love the 4 foot length. it's easy to keep 2 dogs at a heel without bundling up a bunch of leash in your hand. The retaining leather piece by the loop is thick, doesn't slide around, and great quality. love it.

Very nice
This is exactly what I was looking for. If you twist the loop into a figure 8 you can use this as a halti that doesn’t hurt/ chafe the dogs nose.
