Almost Perfect Except

This product and the matching wall cabinet are almost perfect and I would have given it a five, Except one big boo boo the factory made. Like all self assembly furniture it uses a Cam Lock Nut and dowel with rounded head arrangement to pull the joints together tightly. But the boo boo is in both the floor and wall cabinets. Either the dowel pin is 1.5mm too short or the factory positioned the Cam Nut hole 1.5mm too far from the edge of board. The result is that the Cam nut does not engage the head on the dowel pin. I broke one Cam Nut trying to engage the pin. The dowel pin simply is not long enough for the Cam Nut to gab it. After breaking the first Cam Nut, I found a solution. I tightened the dowel pin and bottomed it in its hole. Then I loosened the dowel ping two full revolutions of the screw driver and then went 1/8 turn to tighten it. This causes the dowel pin to go 1.5mm further into the Cam Nut hole. The Cam Nut then locks on to pin and snugs up the joint. Its really too bad they screwed up the Cam Nut situation. Otherwise the packaging was really good, assembly was straight forward and the quality is good. The two look great and size is generous. Hope someone at the manufacturer reads this.

Looked great on the outside. Hardware was misaligned. Smelled bad.

1. I’ve put together a number of assemble-yourself cabinets over the years, from at least three manufacturers. This one has been harder to assemble than the others. Like all furniture of this type, all the parts and hardware must be aligned in three-dimensions so the cabinet pieces snug together at right angles. That did not happen in seven of the ten cam-nut-to-screw connections. They fastened to some degree, but not snugly. The cabinet gets most of its stability from its back pieces, which are attached by eight tiny screws. 2. The instructions were a bit misleading. For example, on page 4 they said “Do not tighten all bolts and screws completely until the entire unit has been assembled and set up.” This is impossible in the case of the cam-lock screws, since nothing else can be put together until the screw head is slipped onto the drilled hole, and then not enough of the screw head is exposed to allow tightening. 3. After a day, the cabinet began outgassing what must have been a formaldehyde smell. The smell persisted after 21 days, during most of which I kept it airing out on a south-facing, warm and sunny, outside porch. The packaging mentioned EPA and CA formaldehyde standards, but this particular unit did not seem to measure up. I was able to get a refund from Amazon due to this outgassing problem.

Beautifully complicated

Hard to assemble. Falls apart before you can add the next section. I never got to finish putting it together because I got frustrated with it continuously falling apart. It's a beautiful piece but if you aren't good at assembly, you may need an extra hand or three.

This is really bad

I am not new to this cam lock type assembly and I can make them work. At least until I came across this one. The cam holes do not line up with the ends of the pins. Some pins need to be loosened to line up with the cam lock. But, once assembled the cabinet is loose and wobbly. The top front wood piece that holds the magnet for the door closure only has one dowel on each end, so that piece can spin and the doors are not held closed tight. Stay away from this one.

Easy to build

I thought it would be harder to build this, but it was a breeze and it seems to be steady so far I’ve only had it for about a year so only time will tell

Not good quality

It is together as I had someone else do it. The whole thing is not good quality. Very cheap.I have things that were put together and they are heavy good quality furniture.
