It fully covers a round box unlike the ones that were put in when our house was built
When our house was built, the electrician put in these square outdoor covers for a single gang outlet but in a round box. To say that they were cheap and have all broken in the weather is an understatement. these covers are the solution I had been looking for.

Required minor modification but is generally awesome
I used this to replace a fifteen-year-old security light that was falling apart. I installed a GFCI outlet in a round light box under a soffit. I had no issues with depth for the GFCI outlet in my round box (and this product doesn't include the round box so the person who wrote the bad review has expectations the product could never meet.) I did have to drill holes through the backplate over the box and enlarge a hole on the GFCI outlet. I also had to purchase longer 8/32 machine screws (1.5 inches) to make everything work. The modifications were done with a drill and needle-nose pliers. Not a big deal, but did take a bit of figuring, measuring, and drilling. I installed a Nest Camera and a new LED motion sensing security light using the new outlets. I'll update this review at a future date if I have any issues with its longevity or waterproofness. I’m glad they make these thing. When house was built they used a round box for an outlet. And had an oversized cover that I can’t find anymore.

Needs modifications in order to work.
The screw holes on the adapter plate do not line up with the screw holes for a round box. So you will need to drill new holes yourself. This is definitely not a quick replacement. The foam also is not big enough to truly make a waterproof seal. The adapter plate is a great idea and solution for attaching to a round box but this product just isn’t precise enough.

Good quality and works great but may need to pair with other adapters
I used this product to convert an outdoor light fixture to a GFCI outlet. It fit the 4" round box perfectly, but I had a shallow box and had to purchase an extension box (this one worked well: Hubbell-Raco 5406-0 Weatherproof Extension Box) so that the GFCI outlet would fit. I also had to play around with universal crossbars and multiple screw thread sizes and lengths to get the right combination. Because of the many possible combinations (only one of which seemed to work!) I had a heck of a time getting everything to line up and cooperate. I even had to drill extra holes in the backplate of this item.

Great price and great cover but..!!
This is a very well-built cover but I had to modify it in order to fit inside my siding plug standoff, it wouldn’t fit inside of it. But once modified it works perfectly and is a great deal I would recommend.
