First Pair I ever bought I can say works
First Pair I ever bought that I can say actually works out 100% but it blocks at least 50% of the noise which is amazing because most of them are like 10% and I’ve try a lot!!!

Comfortable, but where is the noise reduction?
JVC's earplugs are a neat idea. They look like earbuds instead of traditional ear plugs so they blend in without drawing attention to yourself. They are comfortable, lightweight, and nicely made. However, they are severely lacking in actual noise reduction. I thought these would be a discreet way to reduce the overly loud volumen of the movies, but they barely reduced the volume at all. I had much better result using real earbuds with ANC, such as Anker's Space A40 earbuds. Sure The Ankers more expensive, but they are real earbuds too so you can... you know... also listen to music and make calls. All in all... a great idea, but lacks in execution.

Very Little Noise Reduction
Ears are almost like fingerprints, no two people's are exactly alike, so fitment and effectiveness of ear plugs are going to vary among people. I really wanted these to work for me but they don't and they're oversold. The 35db noise reduction advertised is an absolute best case scenario under very specific circumstances that won't apply to most people. The more typical noise reduction puts them below foam plugs. I use earplugs a fair bit when riding motorcycles so was excited to get these as they're easy to fit in your ears. But the noise reduction using the memory foam ends was noticeably less than using throw away foam plugs. I tried the silicone mushroom tips and these were actually better for me but still not as good as foam plugs. Also for applications where you have to put on a helmet, especially a tight one, these get displaced as the helmet slides down the side of your head as the large plastic pieces are sticking out from your ear canal. The advertised 'carrying case' is a very small cloth bag. The designers need to go back to the drawing board on these, though they apparently work for some. UPDATE Raising these by one star. After experimenting with various ways to put in the silicone mushroom tips I found a way that provides a good level of noise reduction. The large plastic outer piece is still a mixed bag: It makes them easy to install and provides some additional noise reduction but also makes them uncomfortable after a couple hours. Try all the different configurations before passing judgment.

Works, but doesn't stay in my ear very well
I must have 2 different sized ears, because 1 of these fits and the other one doesn't. I have always had issues with trying to get earbuds to stay in, so I suppose that is why I also have issues with these. They do a decent job with noise. They won't stay in while I sleep, but I used them when I was trimming a hedge, and they worked well. The one side wouldn't seal as tightly as the other one, but the one that sealed, did a good job. I sometimes sleep with ear plugs in, and these seem to be about the same kind of noise blocking as they are. You get different sized buds, and the smaller one does work better on my oddball ear. The little silicon buds don't work at all to block the noise. I like them, but I wish they made a size smaller then the small, because it would work better in my ear.

Underwhelming
As someone who needs to sleep during the day, noise reduction technology is essential. Foam earplugs never work well for me and the noise cancelling ear phones have a limited battery life. So when these popped up, I excitedly ordered them imagining blissful dreams. And that's where my expectations began and ended...in my dreams. For starters, these are pretty big and don't fit in my ears comfortably, even with the various sized tips. They don't give a good seal so I still hear plenty of ambient noise. They feel heavy and awkward in my ears and are especially uncomfortable if I'm on my side. Honestly, it feels like I'm using someone's broken ear buds as my ear plugs. If I wanted that, I could get it for free from my brother. I won't be recommending these to any of my friends/family for the purpose I wanted them for - to sleep.

Good sound reduction. A bit large but not uncomfortable. 4.5 ⭐️
I had my husband try these because I have difficulty getting earplugs to fit. He says they’re great - fit comfortably and blocked noise well. I had difficulty at first getting a good fit. No surprise as I haven’t found any others I can easily fit. These did work better than any others I’ve tried - decent sound blocking and about as comfortable as they’re going to get for me. They reduced sound enough that I could sleep while the TV was blasting in the next room. That alone makes them worthwhile, though a bit pricey.

Great for protecting your ears in noisy environments, not so great for sleeping
I don't think JVC should advertise these as sleeping earplugs, because I tried sleeping with them, and it was not a good experience for me. I already have a pair of the Bose Sleepbuds II, and those fit inside my ear and are fairly comfortable when sleeping. I'm just referring to the fit. Of course I know that the Sleepbuds are electronic and these JVC earplugs are just passive. But the JVC ones are just too large. I was able to find the correct size earpieces to use with them to fit my ears, but I'm a side sleeper. So they stick out of my ears enough to bother me, especially on the side of my head that is against the pillow. So for me these are a total fail for sleeping. But for general use to protect my ears against loud noises, they are great. I can use these in any environment where I would normally have to wear hearing protection headphones, such as at a shooting range or an airshow. So that's what I will use these for. Since they are so small, it's much easier to carry them with me than a large pair of over the ear headphones. But if JVC wants to improve these so they work as well for sleeping, they need to make them smaller.

Worked well first try
My neighbor works late shift and comes home midnight, and I can hear his TV into the wee hours of the morn even past dawn...and often I hear these voices and it sounds like someone is outside in my yard talking away! These ear plugs fit comfortably. When i woke I even forgot I had them in. No discomfort. I don't remember hearing any voices! This is only the after-one-night test, so I will amend this report if needed. So far so good.
