jury is still out
This isn't really the proper review as I just received this product yesterday, but I did want to point something out for others maybe thinking of this product so they can get a fuller vision of it. 1st - it came ridiculously fast so shipping = excellent. I purchased on the Sunday before Memorial day and received the item the following Wed. afternoon with Amazon's Super Saver free shipping. And now to the product - Obviously I'll have to update this review with durability, but for now I can say that I took my dog out on it yesterday (the day we got it) and her monster-claws (that need a serious trim which she will receive today!!) didn't even phase this thing. The part that's concerning me about this product is just how much water the dog sits in while floating. My dog LOVES water and so of the two choices of dog-float that Amazon offers I figured this was the better choice because the other one doesn't look like the dog gets wet at all and I figured that would get pretty hot for the pup. And even though there are many good pics for this item, I guess I was still envisioning that the dog would be floating with maybe an inch or two of water in the bottom - just enough to keep her cooled down. That's not the case. For my 100# girl, she is laying in about 4-5 inches of water at all times. Cooling? yes, but comfortable? I'm thinking no, not for a dog; at least not for any real length of time. Buyers should be aware that the pic with the Portuguese Water Dog (that I thought was only THAT full of water because the dog is laying over the edge of the float) is a perfectly accurate pic of just how much water the dog will be sitting in at all times while on this float. In the future hopefully someone will come out with a product that offers just a little LESS contact with the water to create a more perfect balance of cooling and comfort for the dog. UPDATE: So I actually purchased this for a tubing trip that the dog was going to come along on, which we did this weekend. End result for this product: The river was super low so we had a LOT of the dog jumping in and out as we'd hit rocks, a LOT of dragging over long distances of rocks, and some fast moving water - over endless rocks! lol I know this wasn't the intention of this product but as far as any 'ripping' there was absolutely none - and we couldn't have put this thing through it's paces any more than that river trip was!! But as far as the durability of the small ring that makes this hold it's shape - that broke just while refolding the item and I learned quickly how important that was within about 30 minutes on the river. :( The product won't hold it's shape very well at all without it. Oh, also, the air stopper kept randomly coming open and not due to the rocks, just whenever, even in calm water. So that was a problem too. As speculated in the original review, the dog did NOT like being in that much water for an extended amount of time, AND the fabric seemed to almost stretch out a bit because she sat lower and lower (in more water) the longer we were on the river. Now, all that said, in a pool, I think this product would do just fine - where the dog could get out whenever it got sick of laying in so much water - but I still do think the plastic ring will snap in a heart beat just due to regular un/folding, and needs to be rethought by the manufacturer.

Our goldens love this
We had bought 2 but they get in one together Usually only lasts one season and is only good value when on sale or watch price history

Side buckled after a few days of use but love this raft.
We love this raft but the side buckled after a few days of use. Once my dog was comfortable on it he jumped around a lot to play ball in the pool. Only lasted for a few months because the fabric ripped but it never punctured. It would probably last a long time with a calm dog. Still love the raft and will be getting another for next summer. Hopefully the side won't buckle.

Typically love this product!
We just recently purchased our 3rd of this product. We typically love this float! We have been buying this float for our 70-pound Shepherd-Pitt mix dog for 5 years now. We live in Arizona, so I know the sun and heat play a part in the deterioration in this float. I accept that. Typically, this type of float lasts us for 2 swim seasons; and our swim season is April-October. What I don't accept is the fact that this particular float we most recently purchased tore within an hour of it's first use. ???? I'm hoping the company reaches out to rectify the situation.

Obsessed!
My 2 8 month golden retriever puppies LOVE these floats! They both weigh between 60-65 lbs and get on both their floats with ease. Sometimes they are both on one and it still floats comfortably. The reason I bought these was because their nails ripped the other pool floats! Then I found these and throughly read the reviews and so I bought them and I have absolutely NO REGRETS!! They are scratch proof, allow water to seap in from the bottom to keep the dogs cool from the summer heat (I live in Texas), and you can even try to use it yourself. I haven’t used it, someone else did and they actually said it was comfortable ???????? so humans can use it too…my fiancé said he fell asleep on it one time too!

Durable dog float!
My dogs love this. The construction is perfect for large dogs. My spouse did have a hard time inflating it and got frustrated because the valve lets air out as soon as you stop filling it. Once he figured it out, it was easier. After filling it the first time, we have not had to refill it again, and it has been inflated for a few weeks. I have an 85 pound German Shepherd and a 65-70 pound pit mix. They both use the float with no issues. Their claws have not done any damage to this. The dogs have not been able to damage the fabric or the inner tube in any way. The spring form has started to bend in on one side, but it does not bother my dogs. My pit mix uses it as a dock and diving board. They both love this. I would imagine this will last through a few pool seasons. I would highly recommend; however, I do hope the company fixes the inflation problem and the small spring form issue.

Caves in when used
We ordered our first dog raft from SwinWays 3 years ago when our dog was a puppy. It was great and lasted us almost two and half years. The sun had its way with it due to me leaving it in the pool when my dog and I were not in it. This year I bought a new one from the same company and it crumpled when my dog would jump in, ~64 lbs. They replaced it, now I have the same problem again. The reason I'm giving this such a high rating is the customer service and allowing me a refund through amazon. My dog and I really like this raft, which held up on the initial purchase, and I am disappointed that the quality has diminished in the internal cabling system that allows ease of storage.

Great for Dogs and People
Purchased this is a float for my dog when we are anchored off shore. He loves the water, but needs to be able to stand. This definitely gave him the ability to stand (he's about 60 pounds 1/2 American Bulldog, 1/2 Australian Cattle Dog) and he didn't sink. However, he didn't like it and jumped off after a couple minutes. Once he was back in the boat, I decided to use this little raft. As a 5'2" woman at 250 pounds, I wanted to test it out for me. It definitely held my weight and was very comfy. So now, this paw print raft is mine.

Nightmare to inflate. But surprisingly super sturdy..
We had an issue with our first one. It had something wrong with the metal framing around the floaty inside the material that maintains its shape. It was bent, so when the dog got on the floaty, it folded in on her from the side. We had it replaced with a new one. This one has a valve that is not attached to the outter liner, so as you inflate it and get about halfway, the valve disappears inside and it becomes near impossible it inflate. After about an hour and alot of cursing and swearing, we finally got it inflated... The dog LOVES it! My dog weighs 100 pounds. She was on the floaty in the pool and I swam up to her floating around and rested on the edge. But when I found how little it sunk under my weight, I hopped up on it with her! I weight 235 lbs! That is a total of 335lb on this thing and it was so stable we could have lounged on there all day together! It wasn't even an issue when we would move around to change positions. We remained TOTALLY afloat! ...and to think I had been worried about this thing holding a 100lb dog! ???? It will easily hold 335lb without the slightest issue! I totally recommend this. I would also like to add, that even though this Springfloat was made for dogs, it is by far the comfiest Swimways Spring Float I have ever used! I prefer to use this one when I am by myself too! You wouldn't know it to look at its shape, but this is incredibly comfortable for people too!

Quel merveilleux produit / Wonderful product
We have a a 72 lbs Flat Coated retriever. He destroyed several of our pool floats with his long nails. But not this one. It is built very robust with thick material covering the inflatable part and the bottom. I have good hope this one will last the whole summer!! The only negative point is that it is too high when fully inflated and the dog has trouble climbing into it. I inflate it to about 2/3 its capacity and now the dog can easily climb in. At 70 loonies it's a bit expensive but very much worth it. I recommend this product. Update: 2 months later. Float is still in one piece! A bit expensive but very much worth it in the long term. I still recommend.

Dog loves it
Seems to be sturdy construction. Material feels tough enough to withstand claws. Inflation can be a bit of work unless you have a pump. Also the main portion will fill with water as there is 2 opening on both sides.

NOT RETURNABLE
There is no weight limit - this just says dogs 65lbs and up - and I read a question asking if it was good for a 100lb dog and the answer was Yes. My dog is around 85lb-90lbs and this doesn't hold his weight fully so he is deep in the water and that makes him very uncomfortable as he can't lie in the middle part otherwise his head is under water. I wish it clearly said non returnable or I never would have risked buying this. I am attaching a picture - I tried blowing it up even more but it still doesn't hold his weight properly. It's not worth risking buying if you can't return it.
