First Impressions
I just received this today... haven't had a chance to actually try it. However this is my fifth tube trainer and third brand of this style of tube trainer that I have purchased in the last year. I have two little ones a year and a half apart, and have used them for both. The first brand I tried was the Swim Tee Trainer. The second was an Aqua Coach tube trainer. The reason we keep buying new ones is that we LOVE this style of flotation device, but they keep popping on us from being left in a hot car, or wearing out because of poor design. Last summer my 12 month old could swim around the pool after the second day of swimming with it, and loved it! They just have to learn how to balance themselves. The swim Tee trainer had really flimsy material around the tube that got holes in in from just touching things, like the slides at the pool. This happened with both of our tubes. The rubber inner tube, which you would fill with an air compressor, eventually was bulging horribly out on all sides. And that was only after less than a month. On one of our tubes, a hole in the fabric started from just filling the tube up with air. This brand really didn't last long. I think a better material would have made a huge difference. The Aqua Coach tube trainer seemed a lot better, but the tube itself was actually smaller, so it was harder to get on my 3 year old. We could do it, though, and it really wasn't an issue for us. However, the safety strap wasn't comfortable long enough for my 3 year old to use. So, we cut the under strap off, and because the tube was too small to fit over his shoulders, I didn't see any reason to worry about the possibility of him falling through. This one again had the rubber inner tube filled the same way with an air compressor. I was over-all completely satisfied with this brand. I did have one of these pop while being filled up, and therefore, needed one more. I wasn't particularly careful to get this exact brand - just careful not to get the swim tee trainer - and ended up now with the Aqua Leisure one. I ordered this Aqua Leisure tube simply because the price was right and I figured it would be worth a try. I did like that the strap for the bottom had a clip. On the past ones I had used, they had Velcro to secure the strap, which I was a little worried would perhaps catch on their swimsuits, though they never did. I thought it might be nice to try this one with a clip and see if I liked it better. And I figured I might just cut it off again anyway. Well, just out of the box, my biggest surprise is that this tube is not a durable rubber inner tube. Through the fabric, it feels like a plastic inner tube that you buy for a couple dollars at the store. The box claims it is a "rugged inner tube for years of use." You are not supposed to fill this one with an air compressor. There are TWO little valves that look like the ones on a beach ball or any other blow up toy. Strange. I used my bicycle hand pump to fill it up. I wasn't sure what to expect... I wasn't sure how it would look round like a tire if there were two air compartments. Since you can't see the inner tube within the fabric, I was really skeptical. However, once both compartments were filled, it does look fine. I'm just not sure there is enough air inside to safely hold my little ones up out of the water the way our other ones do. I will have to give a follow-up once we give this new one a try. Update after first use: The tube is not durable. It popped after about an hour of normal use by a three year old. It was a slow leak, and very dangerous since it took us a little bit of time for us to realize what had happened. He was securely above the surface of the water when we began. Because of the slow leak, it wasn't immediately obvious there was a problem. At some point, we noticed he was lower in the water, to a nearly dangerous level, and realized there wasn't enough air anymore in the tube. Of course we were in the water there with him so he was safe, but had we not been paying close attention, it could have meant him drowning. We immediately took him out of the water, and tried to refill it with the hand pump. As I put air in, I could hear air leaking out of the tube somewhere, though I couldn't see where because the tube is covered with fabric. I am so disappointed in the quality of this tube. I am hoping to get my money back. I am not familiar with Amazon's returning of a product that has been used, and unfortunately I through the box away prematurely. The box said "durable"... I should have trusted my gut instinct and returned it before using. Any one have suggestions of how I proceed to get my money back??

Seems like a nice product, but does not fit my 14 month old
I purchased this item for our family vacation in Mexico. I missed the part that it fits 2 + year olds. It was too big for my 14 month old, so I will be returning it. Other then that, the product seems comfortable, compact and fits in my suitcase without taking too much space. I like that the whole thing has fabric on it so it seems the tube is better protected and less of a chance of getting punctured. The colors are feminine and classy, I don’t like over the top multi patterns or colors.

Valve is made cheap
Not impressed with the quality of the fabric and the valve is not made well. It doesn't shut tight and seems it will easily come open when playing in the water and it doesn't have the valve that has to be squeezed to let air out so once it opens the air automatically starts coming out. Seems unsafe.

Pretty cool to use when learning to swim!
I love all of SwimSchool’s products! My son has used their floaties since he was about 24 lbs. We have one of their life jackets, which fits very similarly to this one. The difference with this is the removable pads, which I’ll be leaving in until he’s more confident in the water (still looking for swim lessons). For reference: he’s 3, weighs 36 lbs, and wears mostly 3T & some 4T tops. This fits him well with room to grow. It might be too big if your kiddo is wearing 2T or smaller. I’ll probably put him in his life jacket most of the time, but this will come in handy as he learns to swim better. UPDATE: I never even realized this until he pointed it out…. The back is a turtle shell! He likes to pretend he’s a sea turtle when it’s on. One thing I’ve noticed (with a lot of life jacket style vests) is that it rises up to his chin as he wears it in the water. It *looks* uncomfortable, but he hasn’t complained at all! I’ve tightened all the straps, including the crotch safety strap. He’s autistic and has sensory issues, so the fact he loves wearing it is awesome!! Hope this helps! ????????‍♂️

Not a flotation device, but great for kids ready to learn how to swim
This is not a PFD. Please do not buy this to keep your child's head above water. BUT, this was incredible for our daughter who was ready to start learning to swim and needed to be able to be horizontal on top of the water. If she panicked her head could still go under, but it's not designed to prevent that and we were right next to her the whole time so I wasn't concerned. When she was vertical in the water it did a great job of helping her float, and she loved that it allowed her to have proper form for swimming and fully use her arms for strokes! I would not want to see someone buy this thinking it will right their child to get their head out of the water if they fell in, which is why I stated in the review title and first thing in my review that it is not intended to do that.

Seems good but runs small if you have a tall kid
This seems like a good swim device, my son did well using it. The only downside is the size. My son is 2yrs 3mo and I had to loosen the strap between the legs to the loosest/biggest size and it's still a little snug. I know that my son is tall for his age (over 3 feet tall and consistently upper 90 percentiles) but I figured this would still work since it says ages 2-4. I should have got the bigger size as we won't be able to use this next year and we will just make it work this summer.

Fits 20 month old
Was looking for a flotation device for our 20 month old to use in the pool that was not a life vest so that she can play in the water. Still fits now that she is 24 months. Initially bought a life vest with head support but that meant she was on her back and it wasn't great for water play in the pool. She liked this one very much. This is good for supervised play in the pool with an adult near by- it is not a life vest.

Toddler finds it cumbersome
It works well but it's bulky and difficult to wear if the kids are in and out of the water ie climbing out to jump in or go down the slide. Puddle jumpers are a better choice for our family.

Excellent product - would recommend!
Absolutely brilliant product! It’s expensive but works so well - my son loves it and I feel safe with him using it! Only compliant is that the strap could have been a bit longer as it’s already tight going over his swim nappy.

Expensive but SUPERB!
Best flotation device by far for helping your little one learn to swim. Their arms & legs are free but they feel safe. Excellent. Just a little pricey though unfortunately.

Our 18-month-old grandson loves it!
The tot trainer gives a toddler the freedom to paddle with his hands or kick his feet, while it holds him upright in the pool. He doesn't have to be held or constrained, and can enjoy being in the pool while still feeling supported by the tube around his waist. I had been looking for this design for a while -- we had something like this for our children, and we think it is the best design for a toddler.
