Great once it's installed
I bought this for my Brompton folding bike. I could see from the photo that it has the same mounting system as Topeak's bar extender, so I knew it would be tricky. It takes about 10 minutes to install, which is fine if you only plan on doing it once, but it's not suitable if you plan on uninstalling and installing it very often. The protective rubber strip that comes with it is not long enough to protect the entire bike stem, so I found an old hose clamp with a rubber strip that I used instead. Electrical tape would probably have worked just as well. Installation is fiddly but I've installed their bar extender several times so I have it down to a fine art. The trick is to use the Allen key to push the bolt through the cap and hold it with your right hand while squeezing the two sides of the band together with your left hand to get the holes aligned. Slide the bolt through the holes and up to the nut, Then turn the Allen key and on the third or fourth attempt the bolt will engage the nut and you can tighten everything up. Then you can attach the cage mount to the cap and finally the cage to the mount. Once it's installed it's rock solid and you'll never want to remove it. On a Brompton the mount sticks out a lot and you won't be able to put the bike in a case. You will have to partially disassemble the mount to loosen it enough to turn it to the side. Either that or mount it a bit lose in the first place. With the caveat that it's a pain to install, this is a great mount.

Not for kids handlebar
The metal strap did not have enough holes to fit my kids smaller diameter handlebar. I was able to drill an additional hole to make it work but it isn't that tight. It's a great idea but doesn't work for all bikes. Hopefully they will address this. Still worth the money even with some additional work.

Does the job, but not the easiest install
I bought this for my wife's bike, as it has a step through design and the bottle cage bosses are in an inconvenient spot. What I like about it: 1. It's Topeak, so a brand that I trust to have done their due diligence. 2. It is flexible. You can rotate the head, so it can be mounted on the handlebar or the stem, and you can have the bottle cage turned whichever way you want it. 3. Once installed it doesn't look bad. The challenges: 1. Installation was not super intuitive. It comes with instructions, but you do have to sort of take it apart in order to install it. 2. I didn't break off excess material as the instructions hinted at. I didn't think I needed to, but I do wish the metal strap that wraps around the handlebar (or stem as you may prefer) was rubber coated. That would look more finished, and would protect the finish on the bike. There is a piece of rubber that is included as a sort of sheath around the band, but it doesn't provide full coverage. I cut up an old spare tube to wrap the bar first and prevent scratching in case the mount becomes loose and rotates on the bar. 3. Being a tall mount, once you put a cage on it and fill the bottle you have created a pretty long lever to pull on. In other words, I find myself needing to tighten the mount more than I initially thought was required in order to make it stable. Otherwise, grabbing for a bottle while riding can result in moving the mount on the handlebar. Overall, for casual riding I think it's a good mount. I wouldn't necessarily use this on a mountain bike or any type of extreme riding, but for neighborhood and light trails or paths I think it will be just what we wanted.

One cool piece of kit
I converted my daily commuter to an e-bike, and with the MASSIVE battery on the downtube, there's no room for my favorite water bottle. Soooo . . . I needed a new perch for that water bottle. The only good location was handlebar, as there wasn't room anywhere else. With very little room on my handlebars, I needed something to hold the water bottle securely away from all the clutter. At first glance, I was skeptical about this unit. It's plastic, with a few key parts in steel and brass. But, for the price, and the mostly positive reviews, why not give it a try? The holder came on time, and upon opening and handling, I was initially impressed. You have to take it apart to begin to install it. The more I fiddled with it, the better I felt about this purchase. I moved it around a bit, trying to find an optimal position. Actually, I rode with it in one spot for a few days - with the bottle positioned toward the rider (me) - before realizing I should have put it on with the bottle out in front. And yes, that was much better. Tightened properly, there isn't any movement, rattle or shake, and I ride some very rough pavement. Of course, time will tell. My kit is expected to last years.

Barely slips at all
This is probably the best product you can buy for mounting a water bottle on your handle bars or similar location. That said, I'd does still slip a bit. I've tightened it several times and it still slips. Not much. Better than the others, but it still slips a little.

Solid. Somewhere to put my bottle as no where on frame
Solid. Easy to attach. Instructions on inside of packaging. Very clear. Nice tight grip when attached. No movement. Done a couple of commutes to and from work now. Off kerbs and over pebbley paths. No movement or signs of stress. Thumbs up

Very sturdy!
Bought it for a bike which doesn't have an option to mount a cage to the frame so I bought this to attach it to the handlebar stem and it works very well. No wobble and it doesn't move around.

Innovative product!
I purchased this type of bottle holder cage as my sons new bike didn't have room anywhere else to be able to carry a water bottle except on the handlebars. Thank you for providing an alternative to a specific problem for my son and now I'll need another as my new electric bike can only have a bottle holder on handlebars or the seat post so I might try on the seat post for me next!
