Installed it on a metal door; hasn’t jammed up after months of use

We have a very long narrow DARK dining room just beyond our front entryway, so about five years ago we had our front door modified with a long vertical glass cutout on our front door. This let light into our dining room during winter, but in the summer our entryway became so bright that we needed a pull-down shade to block excess light — and heat too! It turned out that our modified front door is metal, so I had to go to the hardware store to get special metal-piercing screws to put this shade up. It worked perfectly after we mounted it, and we also discovered that this pull-down blackout shade also helped to seal out the cold this winter! We are very happy with it, a solid five stars since it hasn’t jammed up once after months of use and we suspect it will work just as well for years to come.

Great Quality

This is a great product for black out windows. They are easy to install and easy to use once installed. These block out the sunlight well and look good doing it. I get migraines when there is too much light. These have helped tremendously. I can lift the blinds a bit to allow some like in without the sun coming in at face level. I would love to have these on all of my windows! If you work third shift and need day time darkness, these are a great way to go.

Finally a dark room

This shade was very easy to install (about 15 minutes total) It is made very well of a thick material. It goes up and down with a pull and we have not had issues with it getting stuck. It really makes our son’s room dark which has been perfect for sleeping.

Easy install, effective light blocking, slight fraying at the edges

A past owner of our house had custom blinds made for all but one of the windows in our living room, so I was excited to upgrade the white plastic blinds in that window to something a little more upscale, and this fit the bill nicely. Installation is easy, although the included screws were no match for our house's antique window frames, even after drilling pilot holes (1930 house, very few freebie screws are.) The mechanism works smoothly with a nice slow retraction, and the little handle is a nice touch, but the fabric itself is a little flat (not as textured as I was hoping for), and had some slight fraying on one side that I had to clip loose threads from. It does block a lot of light, but the inside mount allows light in around the edges - if you're looking for a full blackout, definitely go with an outside mount.

Great Shades

These shads are great looking. They are strong and very durable materials. There's gaps on each side even the top. Some curtains will be need for that issue. The stitching on the pull are is greatly made. The up and down mechanism feels very strong. Installation was a breeze. The only reason I gave it 4stars was because the pull down handle was broken during shipping. All in All great product! Thanks for reading my review!

Easy installation and great for blocking out light

These shades are quite a nice cream color, and go quite well with our off-white walls and warm neutral color palette. While they are not the most aesthetic window treatment option, they are effective at blocking out light (as long as they fit your window well and light does not leak through the sides) and minimalistic enough not to draw excessive attention. Currently, we are using them when we want to watch a movie on our projector during the day and need the room dark. Installation was very easy and quick. The shades work for both an outside mount or inside mount depending on what the depth of your window frame will accommodate. However, with an inside mount, there might be a gap at the top above the shades, letting in some light. We are happy with the quality of these blackout shades and the material seems like it will be durable.

great quality but too small

This window shade is great quality, but it didn't fit. The rod at the top was the correct width, but the actual shade itself was a bit too narrow. People can still see in through the sides. This will not work for me.
