Modern Shabby Chic Look.

The description that this clock takes a AA battery is wrong. It takes a AAA battery. My wife and I remodeled our bathroom so this clock is perfect for a bathroom shelf. I have a lot of battery powered quartz clocks in the house. So regardless every time it's daylight savings time. I change all the batteries. I keep all my fresh batteries in the refrigerator so they last longer. Wenever I go grocery shopping. I buy Duracell batteries at my local BJ's. This clock works as easly as any other quartz clock and is inexpensive. Very easy to maintain. I have a Howard Miller Mantel Clock that I have to wind every three days. I take that clock to a clock shop every two years to get cleaned and oiled. They charge me $250.00 to have it cleaned and oiled. A quartz clock will last for years if you rember to change the battery.

Very small

I did read the dimensions, but still thought this would be bigger. It is very nice. But I didn't think it was worth what I paid for it.

Not bad, it’ll do for my purposes

I have a very small space here and needed a tiny clock to fit nicely. I wanted it to fit the “theme” & this clock seems to do the trick. Aesthetically it looks nice, but when you open the back to put the battery in you can see that it’s a cheap piece of crap. But, for my purposes it works

Do Not Recommend

I thought the previous reviewer was being picky when she said it looked beat up and rusted rather than "weathered". But, she wasn't exaggerating - it looks like something salvaged from the trash. In addition, no instructions (shouldn't be necessary on a simple clock, but I couldn't figure out how to remove the back without damaging it - I finally took a chance with a nailfile and snapped it off). Then the functional part is white-on-white so can't read it, eventually figured out where the battery compartment was and how to install the battery (it's not as simple as you'd expect). The wheel to reset the time is impossible to reach and required the nailfile again just to set the hands. Very awkward. And when that was all done, it didn't work. Returned it but I am not interested in a replacement. I will keep looking even though the size and style I want has been hard to find. Extremely disappointed with this product

I came back to order another!

The first one is working so well and is the perfect non-intrusive size so I bought a second one for another room. It performs as it should and it is quiet (should that be of importance to you.). I think you'll be very pleased with this beautiful clock.
