These run small
I'm pleased with these boots. I'm really curious to see how they last. No bad odor on arrival. (1) The price was great. I intended to get Target's $20-$30 boots (even though friends told me they wouldn't last) because I couldn't stomach paying $$$ for Hunters. (UPDATE: There are some interesting blog posts about Hunters falling apart quickly.) However, they only had ugly ones with terrible reviews. So I went to a shoe website and found these. They were close to $50, which is still more than I wanted to risk. Imagine my delight on finding them here for cheaper! Under $40 (close to $35, in fact), and I was sold. I got the size 6 and 7 to compare. Interestingly, the size 6 was about $1 more than the size 7 (purchased about two days later). (2) They look good. Maybe people won't notice my boots, but I don't feel ugly wearing them. I think they are flattering when viewed from the front (probably the back, too) because they are shaped to look narrow that way. The side view isn't as great. The boot looks wide (front to back). The problem is the calf protrusion. It sticks out about behind my ankle. If they eliminate that protrusion and keep the boot straight up the back or just shape the calf higher where the calf actually is, it would look much better. I will update after checking out my friends' Hunters from the side view to compare. We're all about the same size. I like the matte finish. The mud seems to stand out less and I shouldn't have to worry about scratches and dings. I bought them to USE, not display. The buckle is decorative but hasn't gotten in my way. I kept the size 7. Here are the (approximate) measurements I've taken (might be different from what's listed online): BOOT MINE Height: 13.75" (includes 1" heel) Ankle: almost 12" (mine swim in here) Calf: 13.5" 13" Foot (widest):10.5" 8" Mouth: 15" NA Heel to toe: 10" These sit comfortably just below my knee; I have no problems bending. I can tuck in straight-leg pants. I normally wear a 5 1/2. The size 6 felt nice and snug but were more difficult to remove. I read that some people like their boots tighter so that they're less likely to come off when stuck in mud. I want to get in and out of these quickly. I can always wear thick socks in the size 7 but still walk comfortably in them with thinner socks. The size 7 would would give me room to include a winter liner if I ever wanted one. (3) They were pretty comfortable. I walked in them for six hours. I don't have any foot issues, but I have worn some uncomfortable, cheap shoes. Even with some expensive shoes, your feet are tired by the end of the day. I was tired, but I didn't feel it in my feet. I think some other reviewers noted a lack of arch support. UPDATE: I drove in them today. Boy, are they stiff. It took some effort to bend my foot forward to press the accelerator. I'll have to ask my friends about their Hunters. I'm wondering if all that stretching will cause wear on the rubber. (4)They kept me dry and were easy to clean. I washed mud off of them and let them sit in a tub of water. When I tried the boots on again, they were still dry. I should update this review in about a year to post how they have stood up with time. Minor quibble: the size 7 arrived with minor defects. It looked like there were shiny fingerprints on the top of the boot. There was also scuff marks on the foot area. When I got a replacement size 7, it still had the shiny fingerprint-like marks at the top. They appear to have been made while the rubber was shaped. I don't think they are actual fingerprints; probably tool marks. Nobody else would notice. I just thought it was a little odd. The size 6 had none of those problems.

They run small
I love my new boots. They run small, I am a size 9 sometimes 9.5 and bought a 10. Fits perfect so they run small. Bought my boots to use when I clean the yard.

Waterproof. But wow sizing is off!
My feet: Narrow. Usually a size 8.5 - 9. I bought: 10 These will be fine for now, but just barely. I sized up due to the reviews. Even in the larger size the bridge is crazy tight, uncomfortably, crushingly so. It also makes them hard to get off. This is not a problem I have had before due to the narrowness of my feet. However the length is that of a standard 10 and my heel moves around and rubs even in thick socks. If I size down I would never be able to get them on due to the bridge. But this length makes it feel like I’m wearing clown shoes. I can try some boot socks to take up room but I don’t know if I can add any more bulk and be able to get my foot in. Pros: The color, the recycled rubber, and they are waterproof. Even though the reviews warned me I still picked these because cheap navy blue rain boots are hard to find, and the pink sole was a cute touch that sold me on them. The color pairs adorably with my trench. It’s fun without being too kitschy, and youthful without being overly juvenile. Sophisticated, understated, and fun is a hard balance to strike, and I wanted to take advantage of the opportunity rain boots provide to do something a little different. Also sustainability is very important to me and after reading about the company they seemed like a sustainable alternative to some of the other cheap options out there. Weight: Others commented they are too heavy. Personally I didn’t find the weight to be a problem. They aren’t high end boot light, but they are not problematically heavy. Don’t know if I would go for miles in them, but I got them to walk the dog in the rain and the weight has not been a factor. She is a “large small dog”, so our walks are not terribly long, maybe a mile, occasionally more. For reference, Le Chameau is leagues beyond this in quality, but even in their more fashion forward colors feel a bit too serious and matronly for me. Tl;dr: If they fit they would be perfect. But the fit is genuinely horrible.

Super heavy
I bought these as rain boots for my daughter as rain boots for a school field trip. They are SO HEAVY, she couldn’t wear them. They are more like muck boots. Very well made but definitely not for sure seeing.

Perfect Mud Boot
These boots fit perfectly. I have a narrow foot so I'm very pleased. We received record snowfall where I live and they are high enough so snow doesn't get in...they will be even better when mud season arrives (if it ever does)

Not good for high arch feet
I am having hard times fitting my feet into these. Wearing socks helps but still not comfy, the height of the shoe box/feet area is very short. I wear 7, and they fit just fine length-wise. These are definitely good for flat feet peeps.

Not for large calves
Let me provide some background info. I have horses and bought a pair of rain/muck boots from a feed store, many years ago, wore them out so I needed to find another pair. I live in San Diego and we don't have much of a rain season, so the feed stores don't keep a lot in stock after the winter is over. I bought something from Walmart, the rubber was hard and put an indentation in my shin and the other pair hurt my feet. So I bought these, I usually wear an 8 in boots and can wear thick socks. With these boots I can't wear thick socks and my calves are about 13.5 inches round and the boots fit, it you have larger calves they will be tight. I wear legging or Amazon jogger pants when I feed and clean the horses. Good thing about these is hay does not fall down the boot. I wore them all weekend working on my property, easy to take on and off, which is what I need. Happy with them, let's see if they last 20 years like my others did.

These Boots Run Small
I’m a size 6.5 and based on reviews, ordered a size 8. It was absolutely the right thing to do.

Boots to last
This is my 2nd pair of these boots. My first pair lasted ~4yrs of HARD use, and I work outdoors a lot. Compare this with cheap boots that I have to replace annually. They fit tight. I wear an 8 to 8.5 in everything; the 9 fits me well. They are still tight around the calves, but this prevents soakers. They are comfortable enough for all day use, and look good for city wear. They are made in Canada and are overall good quality. I would give 5 stars since I think these are the best boots for my purposes, but my last pair cost me $40 retail, and these were close to $70. I'm not sure why good rainboots have to cost this much, except that everyone seems willing to pay for fancy Hunters. They are still worth it though.

Order a size up
These are made of quality material and IN CANADA which I love. What I don't love is that there's been a massive price hike over the past few years for these boots - more than double. So I look forward to seeing how long these last for such a drastic price increase. Also, I normally wear a size 6.5-7. The 8s fit with enough room for warm socks and I have never owned any shoe larger than a 7. Even the 8s are a narrow fit. I don't really understand how they can be that far off with sizing. Minus a star for creating the inconvenience of having to order multiple sizes to find the right fit.

Great Gumboots!
I live in a rainforest, and gave away my Bog gumboots to a homeless guy last year, so I needed a new pair to get through this winter’s dog walks - hello Kamiks! As stated by other reviewers, the Kamiks fit a titch small, so order a size up, especially if you want to wear thick socks. I have a slender foot (can easily fit an A) with a very high arch, and long, slender ankles/calves/legs. These days I fit a size 40 EU, so I ordered the Kamiks in a size 41 EU. I got the boots on very easily, wearing thick wool socks, and have room to tuck my pant legs into the boots. The footbed of the 41 Kamiks is the same size as my size 40 Birkenstocks, to give you some idea of the sizing. This really surprises me - I prefer to use EU sizing b/c it’s supposed to be exactly the same length, as opposed to the variances found in NAmerican sizes - not sure why Kamik is selling a 40 EU as a 41 EU, but there you go. Forewarned is forearmed - don’t purchase your usual size in this boot & expect it to fit properly! If you have more muscular / thicker ankles and calves than I do, you might struggle with the upper width of these boots, as they’re every bit as slim as other reviewers have stated. In that case, you might want to scope out some Bogs - they’re pricey, but they last forever and they do have a lovely, fuzzy warm lining that the Kamiks are missing. My Bogs were actually too wide for my skinny little calves, and they didn’t even have the wide uppers! Back to the Kamiks - great fit out of the box - use your weight to sink your foot into the footbed the first few times if you’re struggling. I didn’t have any trouble whatsoever. The sole is fantastic - some of the best grips I’ve seen on gumboots in a while. And, of course, the boots are entirely waterproof. Recommended.

Nice looking, quality boots but tight around calves
These are nice looking, sturdy black rubber boots. Sizing is correct but if you don’t have small calves, they will fit very tight around the calves, and become uncomfortable to wear. Calf circumference is about 14.5”, and these boots were tight on me.

Great rain boot but order a size up
I listened to other reviewers and ordered a size up. I’m normally a size 8 and ordered the 9. I’ve worn them several times now and feel they fit great and have kept my feet dry and decently warm considering it’s still winter. They are a tighter boot so they will not fit thick socks and other reviewers mentioned them being tighter around the calves and I would agree they are a bit tighter there but I can still wear my jeans with them.
